Who's watching F1! this is crazy 6 cars off in the gravel due to aquaplaning.

Yeah, It's Mental ! ! - Webber's up into 4th !

Red flag Suxorz x10 - but had to be done, Aquaplaning isn't your friend ! ! (I've had it happen in the Kart on slicks - did a complete 360 exiting a corner, and kept going ! !)

WHAT A GP!

I for one enjoyed watching it a lot. it had everything, drama, controversy and a cliffhanger finish!

Spykers debutante got a bit lucky, and seemed happy to have lead the race for a few laps. Good for him though, might be a career highlight for him as long as he's with spyker though.

Hamilton actually impressed me. He showed good passing skills, but got a bit unfortunate with his aquaplaning off the course and also wrong tyre choice, but still, he showed he's got true talent. How he handles the pressure in the remaining races will be a true indication of what sort of driver he really is.

Massa also displayed great pace. I hate to compare, but he seems to have a little bit of Senna about him. He does not have the wet weather skills, or the 'magic' (yet) but he does have the hunger and the agression, which will serve him well. Plus, some day soon he might actually get into a fist fight with Alonso, which will be entertaining.

Raikonnen got unlucky, he could have possibly won this race, but, well, that's the way it goes. To be honest, I can do without another Kimi interview anyway. His monotone, dreary conversations have all the excitement of a brown doorknob. i have to hit myself in the head with a tack hammer when he talks, just to take my mind off the pain his voice causes me. He's good on the track, but once the engine is off, they need to switch off his power and put him in a closet until the next race. I have found more interesting things in a Jane Austen novel.

Alonso. To be honest, I have not been a fan of his. I considered him a competent driver in a great car, but he has really kicked some arse in the last few races. The pass on Massa was decent, and the contact happened after he was past him. They had some words, but I for one think Alonso had the right of it. It's also good to watch him challenging the Ferrari's, as you know he's enough of a loose cannon to try the crazy stuff. Great to watch.

And Webber.... Very nice race. Managed to make the most of the opportunities that presented themselves, and hold off the challengers. Hopefully the Red bull team can keep the car reliable and we might see Mark on a few more podiums.

So, the biblical rain made the race pretty interesting. lots of passing, excitement and chances were taken. Unpredictable weather, and teams taking it on made it a great contest.

For my money, the most entertaining Grand Prix I've seen this season.

What a race, what a race. Massa showed what sort of second rate driver he his, Lewis for the second race running made another rookie mistake and Kimi has proven that th poor guy just has way too much bad luck. Alonso was fantastic. Had the wrong front wing level for the second stint and lost a fair bit of time, but what a way to make it all back up again... on the outside, in the wet, in a turn not known for pasing, and on a ferrari!!

There was very nearly a punch up after the race when some words were exchanged between Alonso and Massa, where you could clearly hear Alonso call Massa 'puta'. He was man enough to appoligise and Massa was hell bent on being a girl about it. Deal with chump, your just not good enough.

Big congrats to Webbo, give him a car that'll finish a race and he puts it on the podium, well done

I was going to turn it off at 1am but i had to see webber the on podium, now i have a damn headache

well done webber!!

good to see alonso pass massa in the wet too, the ferraris were looking good in the dry.

and lol to kimi, i think thats 4 times in a row hes DNF at germany :)

man, I can't believe you guys were posting while the race was on! I was glued to it. awesome race. thank god for rain.

winkie boy made a smart choice and went from last to first in just a couple of laps and had a 33 second lead on the field! not bad. shame he made a poor choice later, but he was always going to be doomed in the dry.

webber ran a great race. had a shit start as usual back to about 10th by turn one, and had couthlard do him in. BUT he stuck with it, put a nice move on DC and then gapped him. He kept heiki behind him even though heiki had about a second more pace. in fact because heiki couldn't pass him it forced heiki into a flawed strategy. Plus considering how late into the race webber went his pace was good. everyone was crapping on about how heavy DC was but he didn't run much longer than webbo. Then he held on wurz in a far superiour car. yes he gave us all a heart attack in the final corner but he held on for a great podium! It was great to see some good racing from him. well done mark.

alonso did well to get the win. massa will be mega pissed as he had a massive lead at some points. I thought hamilton was fast but nothing special. he binned it in quali, then binned it in the race and got lucky and was allowed to restart, then he got lucky again and was allowed to un-lap himself, he then threw it all away by pitting on that lap. bad choice lewis. he would have been right up behind the pack with brakes up to temp and tyres up to temp. like I said he was fast, but the big mac is either the quickest or second quickest car in the field....

GO WEBBER!!!!!

werent there some on here who doubted Hamiltons ability to pass/??

umm..around the outside of fisi at the Shumi esses, and on the grass at that.

i have to say he made some dumb trye choices...slicks just after the deluge?? that choice was at least 5 to 7 laps too early. And then again later in the race

Webber finally got a podium and he deserves it. Well done old chap.

Man i thought the Merc safety car was going to get completely totalled by a 100mph out of control Liuzzi..damn that was close. i think he saw the TR coming and gunned it! just as well he did.

what the hell was with that pileup??? the yellow flags were already out yet drivers still came steaming down the straight and staight into the kitty litter..Noob manouvers the lot of them. Its so damned lucky that Albers didnt kill one of the standing cars and how crazy was Liuzzi nearly smashing the crane??!

whoa that race had everything.

Lewis by 2.

Yup interesting qualifying sessions.

Coulthard is back in 20th, Hamilton in 10th that will make an interesting first stint for the race with these 2 trying to come through the pack. Finally we will see if Hamilton knows how to overtake and start with cars infront of him on the grid. Hopefully Webber will learn to have the widest car on the track but my guess is he will be 10th by the 2nd corner anyway and then finish 13th due to have a visit on some grass.

you know whats funny? Half your prediction came true..

bet you never guessed the outcome though did you?

Massa's post race fight with alonso

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jpt0s_A6e24

translation:

Alonso: "You broke my sidepod there..., go and have a look at it!"

Massa: "Go F**k yourself! You've won and you say something like this, assh**e, you win and say something like this."

Alonso: "I fought with Heidfeld, i fought with everyone, but you can't do that."

Massa: (Touching Alonso) "Try to learn something"

Alonso: "You try to learn something"

Massa: "Try to learn something!"

Alonso: "Try to learn something, i fought with all the world today, and with 3 laps to go, we touch!"

Massa: (sitting on his chair) "Good job!"

Alonso: "Good job!"

Massa: (Standing up, sarcastic tone) "I did that on purpose, like i did that on porpuse in Barcelona!"

Alonso: "Ok, ok..."

Massa: (Touching Alonso) "Try to learn something"

Massa: (Looking to someone who invite him to relax) "That's him!"

    • Hi, SteveL Thank you very much for your reply, you seem to be the only person on the net who has come up with a definitive answer for which I am grateful. The "Leak" was more by way of wet bubbles when the pedal was depressed hard by a buddy while trying to gey a decent pedal when bleeding the system having fitted the rebuilt BM50 back in the car, which now makes perfect sense. A bit of a shame having just rebuilt my BM50, I did not touch the proportioning valve side of things, the BM50 was leaking from the primary piston seal and fluid was running down the the Brake booster hence the need to rebuild, I had never noticed any fluid leaking from that hole previously it only started when I refitted it to the car. The brake lines in the photo are "Kunifer" which is a Copper/Nickel alloy brake pipe, but are only the ones I use to bench bleed Master cylinders, they are perfectly legal to use on vehicles here in the UK, however the lines on the car are PVF coated steel. Thanks again for clearing this up for me, a purchase of a new BMC appears to be on the cards, I have been looking at various options in case my BM50 was not repairable and have looked at the HFM BM57 which I understand is manufactured in Australia.
    • Well the install is officially done. Filled with fluid and bled it today, but didn't get a chance to take it on a test drive. I'll throw some final pics of the lines and whatnot but you can definitely install a DMAX rack in an R33 with pretty minor mods. I think the only other thing I had to do that isn't documented here is grind a bit of the larger banjo fitting to get it to clear since the banjos are grouped much tighter on the DMAX rack. Also the dust boots from a R33 do not fit either fyi, so if you end up doing this install for whatever reason you'll need to grab those too. One caveat with buying the S15 dust boots however is that the clamps are too small to fit on the R33 inner tie rod since they're much thicker so keep the old clamps around. The boots also twist a bit when adjusting toe but it's not a big deal. No issues or leaks so far, steering feels good and it looks like there's a bit more lock now than I had before. Getting an alignment on Saturday so I'll see how it feels then but seems like it'll be good to go
    • I don't get in here much anymore but I can help you with this.   The hole is a vent (air relief) for the brake proportioning valve, which is built into the master cylinder.    The bad news is that if brake fluid is leaking from that hole then it's getting past the proportioning valve seals.   The really bad news is that no spare parts are available for the proportioning valve either from Nissan or after market.     It's a bit of a PITA getting the proportioning valve out of the master cylinder body anyway but, fortunately, leaks from that area are rare in my experience. BTW, if those are copper (as such) brake lines you should get rid of them.    Bundy (steel) tube is a far better choice (and legal  in Australia - if that's where you are).
