FACK i hate Hamilton.

He has ENORMOUS talent, but he is a media whore.

And i can't say much for his dad either.

FKN 2 faced sunnovabitches.

And i didn't even like Alonso before.

But i still say, GO KIMI!!!!

Talkign silly season for a moment. Here is a bombshell. Ralf to Williams in 2008!

Im crazy to think this but i just have a feeling. Wurz. I hate to admit it has failed miserably. He may be a good tester, but cant turn it on in quaoifying and although a solid racer you just cant race from that far back on the grid. Frank looks to be keeping him on and the two of them have agreed to a gag order...which Wurz would only agree to if he had a testign role for 2008.

So Williams need a driver that can along with Rosberg bring Williams back to the front of the grid. Love him or hate him Ralf is a GP winner, and on merit, not by luck. He doesnt need the money and would take a drive with Williams for next to nothing. Frank and the Williams budget will love that.

He is coming from Williams' engine supplier and is an ex Williams driver so there is the history of working with one another so no 4-5 race getting to know one another. Frank always seemed to like Ralf and by Frank/Heads standards never copped the verbal dressign down liek so many departing Williams drivers receive.

His name is Schumacher so the sponsors (existing and any new sponsors) will love that.

Toyota have lots of money and could have blooded any number of qyoung and quick drivers...yet they have stuck it out with Ralf. Any driver getting average/poor resutls but keeps his drive suggests to me that the Team Managers knwo the car they are giving their drivers vs the results and the fact that they are retained tells me that their lack of results is not purely the drivers fault. In a seat next to Rosberg he will be mega motivated to both move up the grid and match the pace of one of th erookie sensations. He is a an ego of F1 and would believe he can do a better job then Rosberg so would not shy from the challenge.

He has years of experience in several teams, different eras of cars etc etc. And he hasnt exactly been blown away by Trulli this year...who is no mug and a GP winner himself. He has announed his leaving Toyota quietly between races and things seem all too relaxed for him...he seems to be thinking he has a drive for next year.

but mostly because of his name = sponsors $$$, and and lack of salary for an F1 big name who can steer to boot....

I cant see how this can happen, but it seems to fit..with the calm and low key way in which Wurz is on the sidelines and the way that Ralf hasnt been chasing drives....it just seems to fit

And one other point. If he kenw he was retiring then you woudl think he would decline being re-elected to the GPDA. I imagine you have to be a current driver to sit on the board otherwise what good are you. He ws only re-elected on the weekend so taking the position suggests he knows he will be racing in 2008. Williams just seems to fit for both parties.

Also i wonder where Kubica woudl have finished if not penalised. Surely he woudl have been a strong contender...he raced well and hard all day. And why cant this guy be leading the championship....here is what he had to say after the banging alst lap with Massa

"Then the finish was the fight with Felipe Massa, which was a bit risky. He overtook me before corner six, then I overtook him back and then into corner ten if I had turned normally he would have hit me and I preferred to finish the race. He pushed me out, I tried to overtake him on the last corner but he went wide and there was more grip off the track and he won the position. We made a bit of action and in the end we laughed."

lol, "he ran wide" haha kubica pushed him off the track as a bit of payback. go poland!

I want to see webber and kubica in either mclaren or BMW. that would be a kick arse pairing. and at least kubica has proven he has the balls to go wheel to wheel, and more importantly when it doesn't come out in his favour (like it didn't at fuji) he is a big enough boy not to whinge about it. he knows he gave as good as he got and has to just take it on the chin.

hahah, ralf at williams? not on your life. Ralfs star is fading, fast. Ralf couldnt bring toyota to the front of the grid and that was with f1s biggest budget! to say he could do better at williams on their budget is just madness.

so lets play this out...silly season is coming on full tilt you know..!

Mac- LH and GP ( Gary Paffet - who has been deserving a drive for years )

Ferrari- FA and KR

Bmw- NH and RK

RBR- MW and DC ( one last round for the veteran )

TR- SV and SB

Honda- JB and RB ( again, one last time for the brazillian )

Toyota- FM and JT

Williams- NR and Nakajima

Renault- HK and NP ( time for LH's kryptonite to reveal himself )

Prodrive- PDR and ( thats one i have no idea about )

SA- Sato and ( unnamed cash rich mobile roadblock )- can i hear anyone saying Diniz?

Spyker ( soon to be RIP )- Karthekayen ( because of the Indian ownership )and AS

Ralf will be given his marchign orders this year and i struggle to see

oh yes, sorry about that...He has given HIMSELF the marching orders and i fail to see how any team can justify paying a lot of money to a dawdling uninspired driver that has had more than his fair share of the F1 pie.

I say this knowing full well that JV, good as he was- AND being a bloody WDC, was bleating on just before defecting to another series that he didnt care a damned bit about the money and just wanted to keep racing. Look where that got him... NASCAR. didnt matter a damned bit in the end, did it?

Toyota hired RS for everything Roy mentioned before and 3 worthless nowhere years later its ending in zip. He didnt even win a race, let a lone an entire championship.surprise, surprise. All that money in toyota and RS couldnt replicate his brothers achievements the way MS did at ferrari. Goes to show you another side of how good MS REALLY was and highlights the areas where RS isnt.

3 people in f1 are fast approaching the end of their careers and rightfully so, theyre aging, have made a shitload of money but dont have the spark anymore no matter how much they bleat on about giving the team their best...

RB is in his last season next year. DC is also going to have his swan song- he knows its time to hang up the gloves and RS... you know... he may just secure a seat with SA or spyker if hes UBER lucky...maybe even prodrive but why would david richards want him???? may as well ask JV back into the fold to develop that new team! Oh yeah and JV dont forget to bring Pollack the Polluck with you!!LOL! :):D:)

If Massa leaves Ferrari, i will be extremely disappointed, he is fast becoming a very talented driver, and now Ferrari give both drivers an equal change of winning, he is really starting to shine!

I just hope next year they can sort out the problems they had this season

Well, looks like Lewis is in the clear...

i dont know... why'd he run wide? i still say it's a combination of all 3's actions.

as to whether or not he did it on purpose, only he knows.

how was the not Hammelton? Form that it looked like Webber was past LH before he got collected cause he's slowed so much, and Webber would be aware that Massa got pinned for passing under the safty car.

Well, looks like Lewis is in the clear...

http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=8hWIfBkVQUk

that totally seals it for me.

i am so grateful you have posted that great find...not even the Japanese director had that footage.

LH is NOT guilty. His remarks about having MW hounding his ass behind the SC were consistent with all the footage we have. In MHO, LH went right to give himself some space, maybe even for mark too - pull off to the right in the hopes that there wasnt any trouble...and then SV didnt even see what was going on and the rest is history. SV was looking a LONG way right.

There was absolute DAYLIGHT between LH and MW.

SV's fault entirely. He was not paying attention. thats it...

and he crashed into the worst person he could have and at the worst possible time!

I am NOT defending LH but its plain for you to see it if you are in the right frame of mind to be able to accept it and see it for what it really is...

I saw the footage. MW was being super aggressive behind the SC and is it so inconceivable that he was smelling the sweet aroma of his finest hour and it got to him?

i dont think so. It is completely possible and very likely. We havent even considered MW to be at fault and yet it is entirely possible!! biased as aussies we are, admit it. I think we should admit its possible MW choked up on the chance to win this race and he pushed a bit too hard...

unfortunately, it doesnt take away from the fact that he is the unluckiest bastard in the pitlane. Kimis got nothing on him in those stakes. If i see him again next year im going to ask him about this...

until then, the story is done for me and im still hoping like crazy he can finally get a chance to stand on the top step.///

But thing is it was no different to what had been happening for laps....and there wasnt any real dramatic braking by Webbing to avoid the situation. Vettel was just asleep. He had been in that position for laps so he is 99% at fault and Hamilton 1%

Hahahaha! 1 %??? you really are a LH hater arent you Roy O? as long as its just one percent its enough for me to be able to hate on him!LOL :P:):nyaanyaa:

    • Hey Dave, welcome aboard! Good to see another soon-to-be Stagea owner here. The wagons are awesome — plenty of space, still got that Skyline DNA, and loads of potential if you’re into mods. Definitely post up pics when you get it, everyone here loves seeing new builds. What model/year are you looking at?
    • See if you can thermal epoxy a heatsink or two onto it?
    • The other problem was one of those "oh shit we are going to die moments". Basically the high spec Q50s have a full electric steering rack, and the povo ones had a regular hydraulic rack with an electric pump.  So couple of laps into session 5 as I came into turn 2 (big run off now, happily), the dash turned into a christmas tree and the steering became super heavy and I went well off. I assumed it was a tyre failure so limped to the pits, but everything was OK. But....the master warning light was still on so I checked the DTCs and saw – C13E6 “Heat Protection”. Yes, that bloody steering rack computer sitting where the oil cooler should be has its own sensors and error logic, and decided I was using the steering wheel too much. I really appreciated the helpful information in the manual (my bold) POSSIBLE CAUSE • Continuing the overloading steering (Sports driving in the circuit etc,) “DATA MONITOR” >> “C/M TEMPERATURE”. The rise of steering force motor internal temperature caused the protection function to operate. This is not a system malfunction. INSPECTION END So, basically the electric motor in the steering rack got to 150c, and it decided to shut down without warning for my safety. Didn't feel safe. Short term I'll see if I can duct some air to that motor (the engine bay is sealed pretty tight). Long term, depending on how often this happens, I'll look into swapping the povo spec electric/hydraulic rack in. While the rack should be fine the power supply to the pump will be a pain and might be best to deal with it when I add a PDM.
    • And finally, 2 problems I really need to sort.  Firstly as Matt said the auto trans is not happy as it gets hot - I couldn't log the temps but the gauge showed 90o. On the first day I took it out back in Feb, because the coolant was getting hot I never got to any auto trans issues; but on this day by late session 3 and then really clearly in 4 and 5 as it got hotter it just would not shift up. You can hear the issue really clearly at 12:55 and 16:20 on the vid. So the good news is, literally this week Ecutek finally released tuning for the jatco 7 speed. I'll have a chat to Racebox and see what they can do electrically to keep it cooler and to get the gears, if anything. That will likely take some R&D and can only really happen on track as it never gets even warm with road use. I've also picked up some eye wateringly expensive Redline D6 ATF to try, it had the highest viscosity I could find at 100o so we will see if that helps (just waiting for some oil pan gaskets so I can change it properly). If neither of those work I need to remove the coolant/trans interwarmer and the radiator cooler and go to an external cooler....somewhere.....(goodbye washer reservoir?), and if that fails give up on this mad idea and wait for Nissan to release the manual 400R
    • So, what else.... Power. I don't know what it is making because I haven't done a post tune dyno run yet; I will when I get a chance. It was 240rwkw dead stock. Conclusion from the day....it does not need a single kw more until I sort some other stuff. It comes on so hard that I could hear the twin N1 turbos on the R32 crying, and I just can't use what it has around a tight track with the current setup. Brakes. They are perfect. Hit them hard all day and they never felt like having an issue; you can see in the video we were making ground on much lighter cars on better tyres under brakes. They are standard (red sport) calipers, standard size discs in DBA5000 2 piece, Winmax pads and Motul RBF600 fluid, all from Matty at Racebrakes Sydney. Keeping in mind the car is more powerful than my R32 and weighs 1780, he clearly knows his shit. Suspension. This is one of the first areas I need to change. It has electronically controlled dampers from factory, but everything is just way too soft for track work even on the hardest setting (it is nice when hustling on country roads though). In particular it rolls into oversteer mid corner and pitches too much under hard braking so it becomes unstable eg in the turn 1 kink I need to brake early, turn through the kink then brake again so I don't pirouette like an AE86. I need to get some decent shocks with matched springs and sway bars ASAP, even if it is just a v1 setup until I work out a proper race/rally setup later. Tyres. I am running Yoko A052 in 235/45/18 all round, because that was what I could get in approximately the right height on wheels I had in the shed (Rays/Nismo 18x8 off the old Leaf actually!). As track tyres they are pretty poor; I note GTSBoy recently posted a porker comparo video including them where they were about the same as AD09.....that is nothing like a top line track tyre. I'll start getting that sorted but realistically I should get proper sized wheels first (likely 9.5 +38 front and 11 +55 at the rear, so a custom order, and I can't rotate them like the R32), then work out what the best tyre option is. BTW on that, Targa Tas had gone to road tyres instead of semi slicks now so that is a whole other world of choices to sort. Diff. This is the other thing that urgently needs to be addressed. It left massive 1s out of the fish hook all day, even when I was trying not too (you can also hear it reving on the video, and see the RPM rising too fast compared to speed in the data). It has an open diff that Infiniti optimistically called a B-LSD for "Brake Limited Slip Diff". It does good straight line standing start 11s but it is woeful on the track. Nismo seem to make a 2 way for it.
