On Hamilton's use of "tricked" - I think it's maybe an odd choice of word, but I didn't take him as cocky at all - He practically apologised for Massa falling off the track when He tried passing Ham' the 2nd time ! And I think Hamilton actually did do a decent job of "Sucking in" Massa to outbrake himself there, He showed quite handy racecraft many times in the race I thought.

After the first 10 minutes excitement, yeah - it did get a bit boring, so I had a crack at forum-whoring on Here !

Shame Webber (car/tyres?) fell away in the last 15 laps, He looked pretty solid until then. Go Nico Rosberg too, like I think someone else mentioned.. . . . Frank Williams will no-doubt fire him in the next year or two, since He's looking seriously good as a RACE driver now . . . . Go Frank . . . .

during the race Webber would have been contemplating whether he jumped ships at the wrong time.......then he passed Rosberg's car and he felt a whole lot better.

i was a bity dozy througout the race but I thought webber came on well compared to the other guys in the last stint? he was closing down wurz quite steadily and the race director followed that battle for a bit, but webber couldn't quite get past him.

Webber was one of the few using the soft compound in the last stint, so you'd hope he can close the gap on someone with a tyre that was supposed to be half a second a lap faster...

Aaahhh, He only stopped 2 laps after the leaders, and with/before 6 other cars. Webber's best lap was slower than everyone in front of him, so He probably finished about as well as could be expected (i.e. solid). - He creamed DC and the Torro-Rosso's, so it's looking like car holding him back. Betchya He can't wait for the Major mid-season Newey-isation update !

Race was a bit unspectacular, but at least there was overtaking in this one, unlike Melbourne. Race had a lot of suprising results. Biggest one being Massa's inability to repass Heidfeld, he had plenty of time to do it, not to mention the significant speed advantage... or so we thought

And Bahrain is only 5 days away!!! but im not expecting the same result as Malaysia by any stretch of the imaginiation. The last test at Bahrain before the season started was a little one sided.

theres just so muh you caould talk about in those 2 minutes. Interestingly Lewis said that he tricked Massa and have since found out how. Apparently he wanted Massa as close as possible to the inside on the dirty side of the tack. Then he ducked to the very outside of the track as late as possible and braked way past his marker so that Massa would have no chance of making the corner... which he didnt

Is it just me or has Ferrari's pit stops and tactical ability dropped since Brawn left. Everything about them was below their usual standards. For instance both cars came out in a bit of traffic after stops, which never used to happen, no to mention both second stops were slightly long.

Good on Hamilton, he's alot more strategical compared with Massa and his attempts at turn 3. And after Massa was long gone he even pulled away from Kimi in the stops. Ron has a seemingly bulletproof team this year.

There has been a lot of disappointing team and driver efforts already this year.....maybe they should start switching to older drivers again and forget all these "pay drivers"

And U just know He probably kept the throttle mashed down hard.. . . That's the kinda spectacle missing now - actually being able to SEE how hard the drivers are pushing ! ! If you're not trackside, 10metres from where they start braking, there's precious little indication of how much current cars/drivers are pushing on. Strip the downforce, BIG slicks, and fatten-out the width of the cars, AKTION !

1: F1 is rooted, I have followed it for many years (First season I watched race to race was 1999) and no joke, this passing problem is getting worse! I remember the glory days of when Senna scythed his way through the field at Donnington in 93, or Schumacher on Alesi at the Nurburgring in 1995, not to mention Schumacher on Hakkinen again at the Nurburgring in 2000 and likewise Hakkinen on Schumacher 2000 at Spa Francochamps... Some memorable passing moves, mind you, we can't really forget Brazil 2006 either, THAT WAS SIMPLY AMAZING!!!! However, I doubt what the FIA have done since 2001 has done much to help F1, the only thing I reckon was good in the last few years is the new Qualifying format, the rest is screwed, and the engine rules aren't half bad, but this engine carry over for 2 GP's in crap (I would say 1 engine a weekend, THAT is reasonable).. I can live with V8's, but I can't stand this stupid stupid twin compound race rule, that is bad, even worse, I just hate grooved tires... F1 is digging it's own grave, I like to see F1 being the best sport, with the best teams, the most money and the most drivers, but it is missing some special ingredient... Badly....

I think the FIA needs to somehow bring diesel technology to F1, make the engine manufacturers have to totally rethink policy, design and assembly, thus pegging back F1 back on 27 years of N/A V12/V10/V8 technology... Something along the lines of slicks, two control compounds (tires), 2.0 inline TD (Turbo Diesel - either inline 5's or six cylinder in ANY configuration, flat, vee or inline). Get rid of all those silly winglets on sidepod, nose cone and other places, create (zones) on which external downforce parts may be fitted, and limiting it to the approximate areas of the front and rear wings, with a few exceptions.. Maybe a 'tunnel blocker' device of sorts could be placed between the bottom of the rear wing to the top of the gearbox cover to exasperate the 'drag' effect and giving the car trailing a greater advantage... Cars need more drag, more mechanical grip, and lower straighline speeds (well, not much quicker anyways)... Get rid of TC too, it sucks...

Yeah I can see what Hamilton did to Massa... twice! there was just no way Massa was going to make the corner without bleeding speed much earlier from where his car was positioned. Good thinking from Hamilton.

Interesting thoughts on the rules. Some i agree with. The drag is interesting....but all the things that will improve racing are at odds with what the category is about...the pinnacle of automotive technology.

Increasing braking distances and increasing drag without improving downforce is never going to happen.

just to spice things up, every year in janauary they put 20 years between 1980 and 2000 into a hat and pull one out. whatever year comes out (say 1994) they have to run to those regs in the following year. now that will keep those lazy teams on their toes and it would be so interesting to see what kind of car they could build to 1994 regs, but with the 2007 knowledge and technology they have.

Like its not expensive enough to design, manufacture and test cars each season? Also regualtions regarding crash safety etc would mean that cant happen. Would be cool to see 1992 regs repeated. The cars would be rockets!
