Congrats Andrew!!!!!! well that explains it, hope the little one and mum are doing well....

Not sure what the TMU were doing there, but they did sit at turn 1 with the radar to see what speeds me and Aaron were reaching. Aaron was clocked at 165 and I was clocked at 177, although my PowerFC was showing 213!!! Looks like that radar was in need of some serious calibration....

Bad weather but made for interesting driving training as some of the instructors would have found out.

Considering it is my first sprint day at calder i had an absolute ball juggline conditions was excellent, I even started to run out of brakes in the last session because we had traction. Could have also been an interesting drift day but as the boss said no drifting :), Saying that I think I can get used to "grip driving".

On the subject of police attendance I think it was encouraging to have police on site that can see we are competing on the street but also have a chat and not try and heavy handle anyone.

I had a great time...found out I couldnt put my foot down anywhere in the wet as some of u saw...hahah good old lockup..hehe way fun.

Pitty I didn't get to blast it down the straight as I was hoping. Always next time.

I see the cops presance as a good thing. Shows them that not all "hoon" cars are hoons.

When i worked at Calder, cops/tmu would often drive in and have a look, just to see what cars are racing.

Or to take down plates of cars running 11-12 second passes, that were being driven home

Matt I'm so sorry to hear about your car  , I can't believe it and you were trying so hard to make me stay out there, probably a good thing i went home at about 8pm.

Glad I went when I did, my car was all over the place.

Really disapointed with the day overall but you can't help the weather.

Looking forward to the next round in the dry!

What an awesome day...well afternoon. Thanks heaps to everyone that organised it and especially Chris for being my driver trainer! Hopefully by the sandown will have an adequate fuel system so I can wind up the boost and some semi-comps ;)

hmmm now where are the pics of my car, I know people were taking them cos I kept on getting flashed.

BTW chris james has your helmet, if he hasn't already given it to you :P

You were cutting some pretty good laps in the wet Kyle although i bet Chris will take the cred ;). Very impressive while I battled plough understeer :P

Was heaps better when the track dried out! So glad i hung around after the break.

Had an awesome time and have officially been 'bitten'

Yeah you were pretty quick once the track dried up and we were on the short track.

Yeah the bug has bitten, can't wait for the next one.

    • Bah! I can't see the point in custom number plates at all. I went to the rego office, fished through a box of "premium" plates (the ones that had the "not as tall" option for the front plate) and picked the one that had a 32 in it. That's the limit of the effort and cost I will put into number plates. The only plate that I'd consider paying for would be 2332, but that's not possible here because it already exists from probably 90 years ago, and it would cost a fortune to obtain it, if it were available.
    • After chasing my tail with LS results..... and cheaper than a turbo swap... How confident are you that the dyno is accurate relative to other results? How fast is the car - What MPH does it actually run? Is this similar to what people running this power would expect?
    • Hi mate I am having an identical issue with my 98 R34 GTT. The engie suddenly cuts out under load at about 3-4k, black smoke out exhaust. Almost feels like traction control kicking in. No CEL but still going to check codes later today. Car was sitting in the shed for about 5 months before hand and only idled a few times, took her out with about 1/4 tank, filled up and thats when the issues started happening.  Threw on a spare set of coils/harness and checked plugs which was no help. Recently had fuel pump/filter changed so surely thats not the issue unless condensation in fuel, I just havent had the time to drain it It's running a hi flow turbo, bosch 1000cc injectors, walbro 450L, Z32, Nistune etc... All about 2000km old.
    • I always wonder where the obsession with legal/illegal spacing on number plates in the UK comes from. Because it comes up in comments in every UK-based video I see on youtube. From my point of view all of your plates look a bit odd. Just because there are no markings whatsoever. In Australia we have the state that has to be on it. In Europe you get stamps and state logos. Yours look a bit like a throwaway draft that people then stuck with. And attached with blu tack so that it falls off at the slightest disturbance. Not trying to hate, but it's interesting how things are done in different countries. Do you have to follow a lettering convention when choosing a custom plate?
    • Hybrid sounds like a supercharger... It's half a turbo, with a belt to drive it! Oh wait, they're just called super chargers...
