I have 2 adjustable tensioners, but no matter which way i adjusted them, i couldn't get them right. The first hole i drilled went straight into the water gallery so i drilled and tapped another further from the centre of the block. In hindsight, the first probably would have been ok with some locktite, but i didn't want to risk a water leak at the time.

I have an R33 head and the VCT gear is adjustable from behind, and i bought an adjustable exh gear. Hopefully problem solved. Well i spent a weekend dialling in the cams, so it better be solved!

Sky30, it's a 5 speed manual.

RB25 n/a head, GT35/40 turbo, 19-20psi

Youve got to be kidding me right ????

What specs are you running ? 270k km and 20psi with gt3540 ???

I got my rb30det which has done about 30,000km so far with a smallish turbo now I too am going the GT3540 .82 with tial 38mm gate with a top mount manifold and 740cc injectors (still off the road)

Got some questions for ya...

When does boost come on ? is it laggy ???

How does it sound ? :P

got any pics??? be very keen to find out more

Do you have .82 rear ? when do you get full boost by ???

whats you fuel economy like??

tell us abit about it..

thanks

Why would i have to be kidding???

Its .82 rear housing, makes 20psi at about 3400rpm.

Can anyone help me find a set of forged pistons for RB30 that can give me a CR of 8.3:1 or more?

was looking at ARIAS but not even rocketindustries have them in stock atm, they only have the flat top piston that give 8:1 CR, any idea how this would drive?

Anyone selling these or CP, or Wiseco?

Im thinking of adapting the rb25 oil squirters to the rb30 block. Im just asking if anyone had any pics, of a rb25 block with the oil squirters removed showing the whole location. (I have looked at Cubes guide).

Or do u think I’m wasting my time trying to make them fit or is it just impossible.

It'll be in an R31, heh.

Anyway, I have an R32 RB25DE loom and RB20DET ecu on the way.

Should be able to get the RB25DE loom if necessary.

so the rb20det computer will be able to be tuned to suit the rb30 with no problems whatsoever?

i suppose the rb25de runs top feed injectors also? will this also be fine if you upgrade to gtr injectors? and i then presume a z32 afm is necessary (if not a q45)

the rb25de injectors are them same style as rb20 and rb26 injectors!

Rb25de injectors are rb20det injectors. :P

Same part number, same flow.

I ran my RB30DET in on the stock RB20DET ecu, it couldn't handle any more than approx 6-7psi as it would fuel cut.

What did you do loom wise with the conversion? I thought the extra capacity of the head may confuse the power fc

Cars are very simple.. The measure how much air enters the motor then puts in say 1 part fuel for every 15parts air.

As a result.. the car runs fine on the stock ecu. Obviously limited as the RB25 head flows so much more air, as a result I was hitting fuel cut.

The PowerFC handled it quit well. AFRs were pretty much spot on, light load didn't need touching. WOT required a small tweak of afr's around 3500rpm - 5000rpm. Ignition timing had to be pulled out a little due to the back pressure the stock turbo caused on the 3ltr.

After putting the VG30DET BB turbo on its taken another 6-7degree's ign. timing at wot.

With regards to the higher RB30 block, how much of this affects the piping around the engine. For example, intercooler piping, exhaust manifold and dump pipe, radiator coolant piping. How much of these needs to be modified due to the higher RB30 block?

My std IC piping actually fitted much better; like it was meant to be. :P

Radiator hoses are not affected.

Exhaust manifold is not affected, how can it be?! :P

Dump pipe obviously needs modification as the motor sits slightly higher. I paid $60 or something and had them cut and weld in a little spacer so to speak.

It all drops in and bolts up much easier than you would expect.

    • Hi guys . Can someone help me  I bought an Android screen for my Nissan fuga but it won't turn on
    • My guesstimate, with no real numbers to back it up, is it won't effect it greatly at all.its not a huge change in position, and I can't see the air flow changing from in turbulence that much based on distance, and what's in front of it. Johnny and Brad may have some more numbers to share from experience though.
    • Which solenoid? Why was it changed? Again, why was this done? ...well, these wear..but ultimately, why was it changed? Did you reset the idle voltage level after fitment? I'm just a tad confused ~ the flash code doesn't allude to these items being faulty, so in my mind the only reason to change these things, would be some drive-ability issue....and if that's the case, what was the problem? Those questions aside, check if the dropping resistor is OK ...should be 11~14 ohms (TCU doesn't throw a flash code for this) ~ also, these TCU designs have full time power (to keep fault code RAM alive), and I think that'll throw a logic code (as opposed to the 10 hardware codes), if that power is missing (or the ram has gone bad in the TCU, which you can check..but that's another story here perhaps).
    • Question for people who "know stuff" I am looking at doing the new intake like the one in the picture (the pictured is designed for the OEM TB and intake plenum), this design has the filter behind the front bar, but, the filter sits where the OEM duct heads into the front bar, and the standard aperture when the OEM ducting is removed allows the filter to pulled back out of the front bar into the engine bay for servicing, a simple blanking plate is used to seal the aperture behind the filter This will require a 45° silicone hose from the TB, like the alloy pipe that is currently there, to another 45° silicone hose to get a straight run to the aperture in the front bar Question: how will it effect the tune if I move the MAF about 100-150mm forward, the red is around where my MAF is currently, and the green would be where it would end up Like this This is the hole the filter goes through  Ends up like this LOL..Cheers
    • Despite the level up question, actually I do know what that is....it is a pressure sender wire.  So check out around the oil filter for an oil pressure sender, or maybe fuel pressure near the filter or on the engine. Possibly but less likely coolant pressure sensor because they tend to be combined temp/pressure senders if you have one. Could also be brake pressure (in a brake line somewhere pre ABS) but maybe I'm the only one that has that on a skyline.
