they will handle 300awkw, but it (like GTR boxes) depends on the prior condition and how it is treated once you have this power. They are n't quite as strong as the gtr box as the the input shaft isnt quite as beefy.

What do you want to know about them?

Ok, on their website;

Here

theyhave different sizes, materials (steel or aluminium), outer diametre ect ect...

To chase a high horsepower application (1,000) which one would best be suited.

Would a larger outer diametre with 3 ring setup help reduce harmonics as there is more weight to counteract?

I can get them for about $950.

My Gts4 came with, hks turbo, power fc, aftermarket fuel pump, 3" kakimoto exhaust, hks plugs, hks filter and 4 balled tyres so i guess it was setup for thrash ;), perhaps thats why it has a gtr box! Clutch was Gtr when i took it out too , do the gts4's have an lsd, when i do a sharp turn at about 5kph up a hill sounds like i have a locked diff, sounds like one of the rear wheels is moving faster then the other???

Edited by FOOLBOOST

yes that sounds about right, hope it wont have problems with the extra torque, out of the following considering lets say 320rwkw with the rb25/30 with 1050kg gtr clutch i have in there what is most likely to go first.

1. Gearbox

2. Cv's

3. Drive Shaft

4. Diff

Not the cv's, drive shafts or diff as they are the same as GTR's and very rarely do you have problems with them. Even at that power, you will have to be a nice guy to your gearbox, depedning on its condition and the life its led, always be gentle on 3rd once you have over 300rwkw!!!

No its no one from here, its not really bagging just stating he'd like to know who supplied him the adaptor plate, I'm assuming the problem is the same as what I've heard, holes didn't line up perfectly, and it must be perfect when dealing with countersunk bolts.

RIPS did the first 4wd rb30det that I know of over in NZ, he's been around for a long time playing with these things.

He was the one to tell me the std rb30 oil restrictors are borderline but ok.

A quick question re injectors

I have nismo 740cc injectors in my s15 greedy plenum.

Would these also suit the GTR head? (R32 or 33)

pretty sure s15's are side feed, rb26's are top feed!

pretty sure s15's are side feed, rb26's are top feed!

unless for some funny reason greedy changed there stuff to suit top feed as well as ive seen some aftermarket setups.

but yes generally SR, r33 RB25 = side feeds, RB20,26 = top feeds.

tho if you can get 6x side feed s15 inj's they flow more fuel than the stock r33 items.

Hello .................... over here ............... RB30DET in R32GTR, started in 1999 finished in 2000

Shall I show you the first post on SDU, where I told RIPs the principles?

He can probably lay claim to the first R32GTS4 with RB30, no argument there.

In 1995 we also did a very early (not the first, but close to it) RB30 "D" ET, using an RB20DET cylinder head.

I need to check the exact numbers but I think we are up to ~10 X RB30's with 4wd.

The quality of the supplied adaptor plates (the race team fabricator doesn't have time to make them any more) has been steadily improving with our input. So what was a minor irritation 12 months ago, no longer exists.

:) cheers :D

heheh opps. :)

I now know differently.

Guys;

Just wondering how RB30s are treating hard driven (not abused) GTR and RB25 gboxes. I did a search on 'gearbox' here and got some threads from 2003 but that was it; found references to 320 rwkw being well wthin the capacity of the RB25 box, and the GTR box running happily with 650 hp (fly I assume) but not much on torque capability.

I'd hate to have to detune an RB30 so that the gearbox will live and I don't want to shell $5k for a gearset.

Cheers

    • Hi guys . Can someone help me  I bought an Android screen for my Nissan fuga but it won't turn on
    • My guesstimate, with no real numbers to back it up, is it won't effect it greatly at all.its not a huge change in position, and I can't see the air flow changing from in turbulence that much based on distance, and what's in front of it. Johnny and Brad may have some more numbers to share from experience though.
    • Which solenoid? Why was it changed? Again, why was this done? ...well, these wear..but ultimately, why was it changed? Did you reset the idle voltage level after fitment? I'm just a tad confused ~ the flash code doesn't allude to these items being faulty, so in my mind the only reason to change these things, would be some drive-ability issue....and if that's the case, what was the problem? Those questions aside, check if the dropping resistor is OK ...should be 11~14 ohms (TCU doesn't throw a flash code for this) ~ also, these TCU designs have full time power (to keep fault code RAM alive), and I think that'll throw a logic code (as opposed to the 10 hardware codes), if that power is missing (or the ram has gone bad in the TCU, which you can check..but that's another story here perhaps).
    • Question for people who "know stuff" I am looking at doing the new intake like the one in the picture (the pictured is designed for the OEM TB and intake plenum), this design has the filter behind the front bar, but, the filter sits where the OEM duct heads into the front bar, and the standard aperture when the OEM ducting is removed allows the filter to pulled back out of the front bar into the engine bay for servicing, a simple blanking plate is used to seal the aperture behind the filter This will require a 45° silicone hose from the TB, like the alloy pipe that is currently there, to another 45° silicone hose to get a straight run to the aperture in the front bar Question: how will it effect the tune if I move the MAF about 100-150mm forward, the red is around where my MAF is currently, and the green would be where it would end up Like this This is the hole the filter goes through  Ends up like this LOL..Cheers
    • Despite the level up question, actually I do know what that is....it is a pressure sender wire.  So check out around the oil filter for an oil pressure sender, or maybe fuel pressure near the filter or on the engine. Possibly but less likely coolant pressure sensor because they tend to be combined temp/pressure senders if you have one. Could also be brake pressure (in a brake line somewhere pre ABS) but maybe I'm the only one that has that on a skyline.
