That was my question, "do I have to physically hand it in?" :P.

Sorry I had a better read of the letter; yeah says I can fax or mail it in as well. Have to call for a receipt of the fax after you send apparently... man I haven't sent a fax in forever, don't even remember how xD.

I know this question must have been asked a million times before, but does anyone know of a mechanic in the eastern suburbs that can write a road worthy without picking on stupid stuff like kmart tyre & auto do? I'm selling my car and I need a RWC, not a dodgey one because the car is pretty much standard and in great condition.

so whats the go on EPA noise inspection, will a clamped on muffler pass if its under the DB limit or will it fail due to not being welded on, much like the bolt on silencers?

such as...

EXHAUST-COUPLERS-SINGLE_COUPLER_ALUMINIZED.jpg

From my experience they dont care, infact when i did mine he just made up a section after the rear flange in 2.5" to make it legal and tld me he would put my old one in the boot so i can put it back on after i have cleared the defect.

That joiner is pretty much no different to a flanged connector.

well if that's so it should make swapping the exhuast for epa a lil easier , you mean when you cleared the EPA?

plan on making up a 3 to 2" adapter to aresstor to muffler when i get round to it, then just remove a mount and clamp the pipe on for epa duties

i've passed a rwc with a 3", i'm just talking about the anal epa here

Yea im with Dolan, want to sell my car, surley there are the few places that are more lenient than others? I dont even know what the rules are here

Are pod filters illegal? also factory return front mounts and HID's?

The last owner got the RWC piss easy but that was before the big law change this year. At $200 a pop its not somthing I wana keep trying until it passes it could become quite expensive

So make the car legal before going for a RWC?

The rules are pretty clear and easy to follow - this thread covers it all.

So if you go in with a car that's above board, there is no reason to then have issues. Given what you have listed is not legal, if you do have issues then that's kinda your own issue if you chose to roll the dice. I know it sounds harsh, but that's just how it is.

thats sweet, I was thinking HID's were illegal, easy change over. But some how ive been thinking that pods were illegal as were fmic, I think some mechanics have mentioned that in the past, somthing about only allowed one intake modification. It sounds pretty stupid to me. I will do my best to make sure its all ligit when the time comes.

Stupid or not - that's the law.

You could work that out by reading the first 3 posts of this thread

    • It's funny, as Ive seen plenty of people use them in cheap builds on YT. And they actually go okay, even though a lot of other maxspeedingrods stuff is terrible. Those turbos seem reliable enough, the only part being, a good quality turbo that is "identical" to it, will out perform it day in and day out. In both a lower boost threshold, and the ability to flow more air at the same boost pressure. As a cheap cheap replacement, not a terrible choice. For cheap and shouldn't blow in a day, not terrible (like other eBay/Temu turbos) for low cost and still decent performance, that's where the question comes in to play from the results I've seen. I'd actually find it hilarious to buy one, and strap it to a paddock basher or some other cheap as POS originally NA car, and send it to the moon!
    • The maxpeedingrods turbo is cheap and bolts on to stock parts. I think you just need a bigger silicone coupler for the intake. Its a cheap china turbo, but it's been running on mine for almost 3 years at 16-19 psi.
    • What do they look like right after you've tried to start it with everything connected? Also post photos of what they actually look like.
    • Also wanted to say, my new spark plugs are blackened looks like it's very rich. I have splitfire coilpacks but stock coilpack loom and ignitor. I tried directly grounding the ignitor ground to body as well.
