If it's a white GTR, which it appears to be from the pic, I see that car driving around my area all the time.

Good on them for setting a precedent - pity it cost them so much money though! :ouch:

Good on both of them.

Technology like hand held radar guns are used by police to not only make their job easier and safer, but so that the general community can be assured that the police are doing things in the right way instead of using the "experience and judgement".

Interesting to note that even after the officers in the sons case were proven wrong the magistrate still decided to rule in favour of the police and fine him.

Well, I have to confess that's Michael and I in the news and thats my M-spec, good work Adam.

I don't know if any of you listen to John Laws at 2UE I was on there earlier on today as well.

If you are really keen watch "a current affair " on 9 tonight . It should be on there as well but if they don't have it ready for tonight , tomorrow night .

I think If I ever meet you guys, I'll buy you a beer :D

Good stuff, and I'll tune in to watch tonight, or tomorrow, but you sure they wont turn the story around on you and say you guys are hoons involved with street racing and ram raids? :worship: hehe kidding :D

Cheers,

Chris

haha, I just put "R34 GTR" in the title of the thread for a laugh. I recognised your face long before I realised it was your car in there too. In black and white in the actual paper it just kind of looked like any other late model car at first glance.

I actually didn't expect to be the first one to post it so 10 points to me for being first to post and 10 to you two for getting out of the spiders web. Ok you can have 10 each.

Great work, good to see someone standing by what they believe in..

What GPS unit was in the car?

Ezitrak by Rojone, the best available unit on the market..

I may ad the car was a WRX STI , no longer in the family.

the funny thing is it certainly took them long enough to pick up the story! or perhaps it became that much more news worthy after micks case too? either way, I'm glad to see you get some credit and recognition for it finally. now maybe ask those knobs at ACA to chip in for your legal bills.... :worship:

My story was on ACA when I won the case about a year ago as well as to SMH.

Micks took a lot longer to conclude for various reasons.

"now maybe ask those knobs at ACA to chip in for your legal bills.... :D"

I can't comment on the above .

lol, fair enough :D sometimes I think out loud! I know I wouldn't be doing it for them for free after paying so much out of pocket.... I also wouldn't have had the balls to follow it through in the first place.

now that you remind me i do remember the ACA story at the time about your case.

Good work on this guys - like others have said, it's good to know that people are willing and able to stand up for what they believe in, and follow it through to the end.

I saw the article in today's paper, and was just finishing scanning the paper before I made a thread about it, but Adam's beat me to it!

    • After using a protractor for an actually accurate assessment of what is required,  and by NOT using my uncalibrated eyeball I worked out I need a 25° silicone bend from the TB ro the MAF, but, my choice was either a 30° or a 23° (23° is a weird spec), so I grabbed the 23° one from Raceworks I also grabbed 1mtr of 3" straight from Just Jap, I needed 350mm, but they only had 300mm, or 1mtr lengths....meh Also ordered a 1/2" hose bulkhead fitting from fleabay, this has a smoothish mushroom looking head (they are designed for below the water line of boats) that will fit inside the bend, the hose bit and threaded bit looks to long, but nothing that a hacksaw cannot fix if required, the hose will then just get jamed on the threaded bit up to the retaining nut Fingers crossed and the unsightly amount of hose clamps will be reduced down to 4 once all the parts arrive
    • Oil change does not trigger code 21. Code 21 is for coilpacks primary side connection. You can try to clear the code with a battery disconnect, hold down the brake pedal to drain capacitors through the brake lights with the ignition on for 10-15 seconds before you reconnect the battery. I have seen R35 coil conversion permanently cause this code with no ill effects so it might be the resistance it wants to see isn't quite right on one or more coilpacks. Could be inside the ECU, could be the harness, could be a coil. You can test it all if you want or just ignore until the car actually starts misfiring.
    • I forgot you have a Nistune ECU. Use Nistune to do all the tests I mentioned instead of faffing with 30+ year old electrical connectors. You can read MAF volts off that too, there are reference values in the service manual to tell you roughly what it should be in different conditions.
    • No. I think it might be the AFM. Hence the use of the terms "swaptronics", which implies the use of swapping out electronics for the purpose of diagnosis. It's about the only way to prove that a small/niggling/whatever problem with an AFM or a CAS or similar is actually caused by that AFM/CAS/whatever. A known good item swapped in that still gives the same problem is likely to be caused somewhere else. They're all the same. Spraying AFMs with cleaner is an each way bet between cleaning it and f**king it.
    • Oh wow! This might actually work amazingly. Do you know the ratio of the diff? I was told the only thing you need to make sure of is if the front & rear diff ratios are the same. Ours is a 4.083 Thanks!
