Last time i was at WSID there was this sleeper copper orange v8 ss vx, looked totally stock from the outside

then looking under the bonnet....

GT3540!!!.. he said engine has been worked with forgies 5.7L gen3 running 10-11's can't remember but he said he was kiling the diff or drive shafts all the time

I GUESS HE SAW THE LIGHT! V8 + TURBO :(

lolz .... ahhhh good laugh.

why they talking turbos on a v8, when a supercharger is the obvious choice for large displacement anyway?

Not anymore...

The GEN-TT kits are killing most supercharger kits horsepower figures.

They only cost 9 grand as well, so they're pretty cheap in terms of kw gained.

Superchargers were king about 2 years ago, alot has changed in R&D for turbos on V8's since then though.

Alot of VX SS' are running around with the GEN-TT kits now, with not much else done and they're running mid to low 11's

I have run and beaten several eights with my near stock GT-R. it felt great.

the problem is that people are bagging skylines, they are confusing GTS-Ts(which are still great vehicles BTW!!!) with GT-R's.

i haven't met anyone that has driven a GT-R that wasn't absolutely astounded by its overall ability as a performance car.

pfffft. 5.7ltrs suck ass. all that hp now they want to be "ricers" lmao. there family cars for god sake >_<

exactly. just because the engine may have come from a corvette, doesn't mean the rest of the car is at the same level of performance.

    • Unsolicited advice? Keep the engine as close to stock as you can. Nothing wrong with adding some boost and making a little more power, but given where you are, you really don't want to try to make it into a monster. I can't imagine the roads are up to it, and the lack of locla support when it grenades will be a ball ache. FWIW, If there is a dyno around that you can access, then brand new injectors are a good idea, which will lead you to (at least) putting a Nistune in it, which will allow you to put an R35 AFM on it, all of which will make it possible to make it much much nicer to drive and live with.
    • List all of your mods. It sounds like an aftermarket ECU hitting rev limiter. Like a valet mode, or a cold rpm limiter?
    • @Kapr Haha yeah thats the one. I missed that you had a built up engine, I wouldn't want to run it on there either then. It was good in my situation just to replace the original turbo on a stock engine. @MBS206Yep definitely not a replacement for anything name brand
    • You are selling this? I have never bought something from marketplace...i dont know if i trust that enough. And the price is little bit "too" good...
