The Entry Forms and Supp Regs are still not complete, but the event looks to be proceeding.

This post will be update the minute the forms are available.

Remember that Sandown always draws a big crowd and is always a great day out.

At this point in time there will be Driver Training run in conjunction with the usual sprints, so post up if you are interested in doing Driver Training on the day.

The day will once again be run with a 75db noise limit so ensure you have taken reasonable measures to ensure your car complies (Yep no more gate from me :) )

Also, if your car is off the road or you are not sure about running for the first time. Email me at [email protected] if you would like to help as an Official for the day.

We always need flag persons and its a great way to get close to the action and see how the days are run. On top of that you will get a free lunch and drinks and every competitors thanks for helping with the running of the day (No small feat)

There will be suitably experience people supervising/supporting you on the day so it is a great introduction to what the flags mean and how the day runs. No need to worry about not knowing what to do...if i can do it then any monkey car. :)

Ok, wiring up all the channels on the data logger this Saturday. A fresh sump of oil and out comes the pin for Sandown.

Its 1:23 or bust...but will so piss my pants with laughter if i knuckle out a 1:22! :)

And of course, im still saving for a holiday so too tight to buy my onw camera. Anyone kind enough to lend me one again on teh day?

DUDE! I'm almost GLAD it won't be Me trying to hang-on to that thing down into Dandenong Corner !

Good luck to everyone all the same! (I'll still be broke then, but an outside chance to come down & lend a hand)

    • Bit difficult to follow. Have a look below and see what the standard R32 layout was like. Note there was a restrictor in place immediately before "turbocharged pressure control solenoid" that, if removed, magically got you 1 bar boost.
    • I might be way off the mark here.. there must be a T junction under the manifold. That takes manifold pressure through a check valve prior to the T, one side splits out to this bleed off orifice, the other straight to the wastegate actuators.
    • Carrying out some engine due diligence before my first drive in a 260RS that has been in storage for 10+ years, and found two lines that are susposed to be plumbed into the boost control solenoid. One of the lines (the wastegate boost supply line) to actuate the gates, had a bolt in one end blocking it. The other line (main boost signal line) from the very rear of the intake manifold (RB26DETT) and runs up to the boost controller had this pill in the end of it as seen in photos. Other than the obvious (T28 Ceramic turbos might well be cooked)  Can anyone shed any light on if there is any validity at all with this mod, bleeding a constant fixed rate of manifold boost pressure off through this 3mm hole?  Is it deliberate?  Was this a 90s Jap mod done to RB26's? Or has someone just fitted this without any idea of what happens to ceramic T28s if they are not gate controlled?
    • This looks great! Awesome to have the 5 speed with an LSD in this. The Recaro's look like SR2's or SR3's. It's a shame they've been retrimmed as they would have looked sweet in their original colours. I think I'd want my agent to be a little more up front and informative too. I've never imported but I reckon it would make me a little nervous, so the more info the better.
