Hey,

Parents are looking for a new car and wanted to ask SAU for their opinions :)

Basically the requirements are;

- Needs enough power to pull a trailer with 500kg+ of parts

- Able to drive on country roads as his work involves consultation at mining industries.

- Doesnt want a hatch; so no VW golf, xr5 etc

- Needs to have 5 seats

- Large car basically, but not huge like Landcruiser or other big 4wd's

- Wouldnt mind an audi, bmw etc dont think something would fit with the above reqs

- Car needs to be easy to use around city as majority of business is consulting with other companies.

Some car's which we have discussed are;

- Ford Territory

- Toyota Hilux

- Nissan Navara

- Ford xr8 or xr6t or force6 or GT

- Holden Crewman S or SS

- Holden Adventra

- Subaru of some sort, havent been to any dealers to check any out

- Mazda cx7

Anyone have any recommendations?

Thanks

Patrick

bistango lamancha xxiv - 10 ltr 24 cyl 10 spd auto......thats for the spammage in my rat infested thread! :)

nah on a serious note though - probably mazda cx7...otherwise a crewman ss or adventura. I saw the new cx7 at garry n warren smith mazda in mulgrave (while waiting to pick up my parents mazda 2) - very nice vehicle man. If you do end up considering that, let me know, I have some VIP card that might help you out.

to be honest the new pajero is a veyr nice 4wd i was encouraged to drive them when i was working at mitsubishi for the 5 days before i went crazy and stopped showing up

they're really nice inside, and drive great, and have a lot of technobolgy to boot as well,

not that my opinion counts, but yeah, i do like the new pajero, they are very safe as well!

EDIT

and they come with the 5/10 year bumper to bumper warranty that can't be beaten!

G'day all...hi Patrick.

I am not for American type cars..but I just saw a Chrysler Nitro...not driven one yet...But..thumbs up for looks...and cheaper than $65K.Got that hummer look..I like :worship:

Nissan Murano is crap, don't know how you are all fond of it.

A all new XTrail is coming out soon ..looks like the old one..just a little longer and wider.

they look like small compacts..but trust me..sit inside one and you will see why they are popular..especially back leg room.(I have one)

So for me...New Chrysler Nitro..or wait for the New Nissan XTrail.

Fully optioned(leather/sunroof/climate0...under $45K..on the road.

And 3 years to 5 years warranty.

Then the $20K left upgrade into a gtr33...lol..that is if they give it to you.

Good luck.

Edited..:..Yes if they want to spend the $65K...CX7 all the way(with 20's)...great looks.

V35 350GT-8

that's the 4 door sedan with 8-speed CVT transmission

its got the luxuries of the audi/BMW/merc with the power of the 4wd's (206kW - same engine as 350z) but is still able to be taken anywhere

they can be had with 20,000kms on them for around $30k or even less

    • Plan on the day will be to park trackside. Depending on space availability we will try put a small shade tent and a few of the cars on top of the hill inside turn 3, this is an easy to get to parking area with views of Turn 2, Turn 3, Turn 4 and Turn 5 and limited other pieces of the view around the track. IMPORTANT NOTE! One consideration from previous years is from memory the trackside parking sells out before the admission tickets, for that reason I encourage anyone planning on coming to buy tickets for parking now via the official website; https://www.worldtimeattack.com/ The type of parking you are looking for is 2 Day Park & View (Access Around Venue) Vehicle Pass Only Please note this does not include admission to the event itself, remember to grab that also, and kids under 12 get in for free!
