So... perhaps a heads up?

If this is correct... Series 2 R33 has the ignitor built into the ECU, so you probably can't use the RB20 ECU in a series 2, right?

The ignitors/transistors are not in the ecu at all, they are in the series II coils.

Series 1/2 ecu does not matter. Hence a single model PowerFC fitting both model engines series I and II.

Yeah, Turbo Tune's dyno is only a few months old now. Comparable to Graham West's dyno now :)

ah sweet, have they got some-one down there who knows how to use it now.... :)

^ so your saying that cause its running a remaped 20 computer and not a pfc then the result must be fudged

come off it 210 has been made by alot of 25's with the same sort of mods

its not like he's claiming 250

Did I call BS at all on his figure?

I just asked fot IT and AT and the other factors.

And as always, I couldn't give 2 shits about a dyno figure. They mean nothing. Driveability and the proper ability to make use of said power is the key.

Plus, the main thing is area under the curve.

so the rb20 ecu is better than the rb25 ecu because it can be remapped ? i have a rb25det ceffie with a safc2 atm . would i get a better result running a rb20det ecu and getting a remap?

kermit

I think anything remapped is better than a SAFC... Thats y u get better gains from a remap than a SAFC tune coz u cant really change too much on the SAFC just ur air fuel mixtures.

Wow, really impressive results!!

Keen to try out an RB20 ecu with remap myself...

One question, would an RB20 ecu run everything if put into an R33?

(Other than VCT that is?)

Also, can speed cut be eliminated with a retune? Rev limit changed? Etc etc?

Cheers ;)

Yeah the ecu will do everything the same, speed cut and rev limits can be changed, ecu still has cold start and knock retarding etc.

Cheers for that, will definitely be looking into this at some stage :)

Nice figure.. :D

You plan to throw the slide highflow back on it?

The old saying.... There's no replacement for displacement. :ninja:

yes your nickname says it all :ninja:

as for the highflow i sold it with my rb20 package to fund the 25 conversion, I was going to get another one from Slide but it looks like he doesnt make them anymore..

for now stock will do, might look at garret offerings down the track.

    • That's not a transistor --- it's marked ZD1 which makes it a zener diode. As to what the breakdown voltage is, not enough there to divine.
    • Hi all, Long time since I've posted here. Looking for some advice on what I can remove to further identify the cause of my issues.  I can move the passenger seat forward and back but the knob used to adjust the seat angle is pretty much free spinning, there's very little resistance.  Removing the side cover I can see that the chain is intact but the shaft for the adjustment spins without the gear attached to it moving.  What's my next step for disassembly here? Is this a common fault? Just being a little cautious as I didn't want to start removing bolts for a spring to fly out or something equally as stupid.  Cheers
    • The incentives are mostly the same, yes. Ethanol is cheap compared to the cost of doing 98-100 RON with crude oil alone. 87 to 93-94 AKI all with E10. In 2020 Canada mandated E10 as a part of their "renewable fuel standard" and is supposedly going to go to E15 in 2030. In California where there are only 8 refineries with two threatening to shut down next year it's been over 20 years now of E10 and 91 AKI maximum because there's just not enough refinery capacity or crude oil supply relative to the demand for premium unleaded fuel. And CARB's low carbon fuel standard means functionally none of the diesel available at the pump is made from crude oil anymore. It's almost all entirely 20% biodiesel blended with 80% renewable diesel (hydrotreated vegetable oil) now. The number of gasoline vehicles that support E15 or higher ethanol concentrations is surprisingly low, I can't imagine it being wise to play tricks like this without flex fuel sensors in most of the fleet.
    • It's almost certainly the same as the one next to it. • South Australia, which is hardly as far behind as the rest pf Oz makes out, and who is also not a paragon of progressiveness (read that as over-legislation) in the area of vehicle standards, has this to say on the subject: Adjustable coil-over suspension Aftermarket adjustable coil-over suspension components are suspension units that incorporate an external thread on the main body and corresponding threaded spring saddle that allows the vehicle's suspension height to be varied. If fitting aftermarket or coil-over suspension components you must submit an Application to modify a light motor vehicle form and a report from a light vehicle engineering signatory (LVES).
