Haunted hills! ive seen footage of that track, looks the goods! I'll eventually head up there oneday but really need semi-slicks as road tyres just dont cut it haha. I'll give protek a call and get a price sorted.

Actually HH is one of the places that semi's don't really provide the advantage that they should due to the fact that they don't get up to temperature. I would probably rate the grip from semis at the same level as a top notch set of road rubber.

I was meant to head to winton today for an open practice (took the day off work) only to find that I had no power to my coilpacks :P so this arvo had to rewire it straight from the battery.. looks pretty ghetto, but it does the job ;) . Theres an alfa romeo track day being held this sunday so i might head out and give the ol girl a run (but dont really want to pay $110 to join that club.. :P

As Ant said, streets are ok for HH and better than any other track I'd say. I did it in the Clubbie on road tyres and it was still fun.

That sucks about not being able to go to Winton, cars always like to throw things at you last minute!

Just a question.

When you say you wired the coils direct to the battery, do you mean via a relay or direct as in direct?

If so wouldnt they be "on" all the time and burnt out / cause the battery to go flat?

nah not yet Brad, was going to let Duncan have a steer @ wakie but never got around to it!

I'd be surprised if even the best drivers could get an extra second out of it, you are pedalling it very well. Just need to get a little more comfortable dealing with corner exit understeer and cut the corners/ripple strips a little more and you will be bang on the pace - good driving.

yeah baby!! have you given up on trying to kill yourself on a trike? lol

man it will be fun. how about a steer? the deal is if I can fit in it I get to have a go!? it would be a great piece of gear. still rotor power?

interesting ride troy...what does it look like in clothes? and what on earth is it (supersports?)

gtir is interesting option too, how does it fare in ipra? I am afraid of anything with turbos in 3j

    • Ok I get you. But isn’t the butterfly intake a headache with the +T?  see this is my plan so far but please advise me into the right direction.  Nistune Ecu, 1000cc Bosch injectors, TD05 or TD06 Kinugawa turbo using stock rb25det exhuast manifold, walbro fuel pump unsure of model I think it’s 450/460, spitfire coils and sparks to suit and a R35 MAF sensor and boost sensor.    I was thinking maybe do a cheap eBay plenum $400-500 or try find a stock det neo intake. I think I’d port match it so it’s getting the full capacity but open to advice please.  Thanks
    • The issue now is the 'fuel cut' while driving, and when it happend, it does not stall. This, I did not test the fuel pressure while driving as I cannot with a fuel pressure gauge. I do have Nistune logs, yes. I have also replaced the MAF Sensor.   Also related to the FPG Fuel Hanger – I just realized that I need a Deutsch Crimp Tool to crimp some cables for the FPG Fuel Hanger. Need to purchase additional cables as the kit only included 2, which are for the float. FPG has not responded to my emails so far since purchasing. I thought about taking it to someone and having it done professionally, but I am reluctant since everyone I took it to messed up in some way.
    • There's a good German place in Brisbane if youre up for the drive 😛
    • The German place in Cabramatta was rock solid, fresh pretzel cooked to order back then. Then it went all quiet, after all the poker machines were removed, then I believe it closed for good. I did drive past the other week and noticed outdoor lighting a big screen, but no idea what is there now.
    • Yeah I suspect even if you hold airmass per cycle/cylinder constant if you get too far away from stock you're still going to have problems running the factory tune within the bounds of the factory load scale. Cams, different displacement/rod ratio, etc. I'm just lucky that the GTIII-SS with wastegate boost + CA compliance cats is pretty much equivalent to stock turbos. When I have actual space I can finally get it tuned and modify the fuel system for flex fuel to 100% handle any detonation concerns when cranking the boost to whatever those dinky turbos can put out.
