Come on softy... he's only got 3.5 SECONDS and 100MPH on you!

would love to score a run with Victor Bray actually....that would be a blast.

Racing someone who you look up to with so much respect and admiration for would be awesome.

Would be akin to Duncan racing Jim Richards around Bathurst or Theo Wollett racing Theo Wollett!

What day(s) are you racing at Willowbank on? I shall try and head down for some SAU moral support :)

2nd and 16th of Jan.

The Bray's are out of our class now but still quite a few 6 sec cars to race against :D

Would be good to see some support for the Nissan's. Hopefully Mark's car will be ready for the event on the 16th...full tilt at the world record is on the cards if we get it finished.

Good luck Paul, don't be scared to hold it flat!!!

:)

Held it flat...no clutch...broke 3rd-4th selector in the dogbox. :P

Box out on monday to modify/repair...back racing on the 16th. :geek:

Back to clutching it...at least then i can bring it home in one piece.

Need to purchase the uber expensive ex-HRT ignition cut gearknob and control box if i want to flatshift it. Until then its back to using the clutch to unload the drivetrain between gears.

Car is making huge power and sounds like an animal. The anti-lag blew a nice hole in my Trust PE-II exhaust on the dyno the other night while testing it. :)

Unlucky mate, hope you can save the exhaust at least! Did it part at one of the v-band flanges?

Good luck in getting it sorted for the 16th.

the hole blew out at the rear...right on the bend before the rear muffler....the bang wanted to go straight out not turn the corner and go out the rear.

the selector is a PPG billet item...will be re-engineering it to make it stronger. The box itself is a-ok.

HAHAHA NICE!

thems the breaks!

yeah i always say..."if you can't afford to break it...you can't afford to race it"

I think there may have always been an issue with the box...ive only ever got one good pass out of it since ive fitted it.

Ill call Simon at PPG tomm. and see if i might be putting the wrong oil in it...just to rule that out.

    • 1/8NPT drill size = 8.7mm. Since the hole got messed up by me, it’s probably around 9mm.    So 1/4” NPT would be next step. A drill size of around 11mm would be preferred there which is not way of my M12 (drill 10.5mm and tap M12 threads)

    • Why are you so adamant on going M12? Why not follow Brad (GTSBoy) suggestion. You're talking moving from a 1/8" size, to a 1/2" effectively. 4 times bigger. Why skip the commonly available sizes in between? The bigger you go, the more likely you are to strip the threads out at a later date, as guaranteed, someone will put a huge spanner on the M12 and really tighten it up, and you're only in thin wall, so not a lot of threads to engage!
    • Hi. Yeah thanks. Car is already at tuners and it staying there to resolve "many" issues they do not like. So it is in a good hands. Getting a good tune on that Nistune ECU too so the car would be good. Just needs a little tune up and love.
    • Probably gonna remove manifold and turbo. I’m not sure if I can get M12 x 1.5 air tight. Could use high temp Loctite 246 or something similar, but I don’t know. Maybe it’s just best to remove everything again and weld an 1/8NPT on there instead.
