Thanks buddy... I was told that the plate will be done over night and then he just needs to take it to VICroads.. So i guess i just have to wait until the paperwork is ready.. It gives me the shits a little but i guess thats life. I hadn't realised till it was to late that the paperwork had not been sent yet, the car was in the yard for a while and they didnt even send the paperwork until it was sold! It doesnt make sense to me.

dotars are taking about 5-8 days to process vehicle inspections at the moment , but that can change from day to day

submit a car day 1 , takes 5 days , submit another one next day takes 8 , next day who knows

remember it greatly depends on what is in the queue before you at the time you submit them . any problems with the paperwork and it will go back to the bottom to be reprocessed . on average cars get submitted 1.7 times so its pretty common for something to hold it up twice.

on top of that you have supplier issues , parts and services are not always available immediately

also good workshops are just plain busy and sorry but its usually 1st in 1st serve and you might have to wait your turn! if you were told 2-3 weeks then live with it , better a good job than a quick one

I bought my car on the 15th of March and its nearly ready!

However, its only been waiting for compliance to finish for a few weeks. I think this is the third week now and plates *should* hopefully be there tomorrow.

Paperwork was approved around last Friday I believe.

Regards,

Gareth

the paper work for mine was submitted on friday 26th of Oct and it was approved today, 5th of Nov....and the plate should arrive on the 7th >_<

surprised that some of u guys' took so long...

sounds fishy....the entire process can't take 3 days, impossible.

There might be a misunderstanding involved here, better get clarification.

my importer payed for my compliance a day after i bought the car from japan so he has told me it will take no longer then 3 days

its takes a day or 2 to actually get all the work on the vehicle done so foir a car to be plated in 3 days doesnt sound right unless thyeve submitted the paperwork prior to the vehilce entering the country.... if so BIG risk!

Lets see now ...... car arrived in Australia April 07 and it is now December 07 ...... car still not complied ...... oh yeah that's right .... how silly of me to forget that I made a mistake in dealing with an incompetent although very highly recommended import broker who was not aware of the regulations. So the answer to this question is WTFK's! :)

Not to put down every broker out there because there are some good ones but we are brokers and hold compliance for 18 different models of vehicles so everything is done in house and our fee is the same as everyone else. Why risk importing though someone who has to rely on other business to get the job done. We make sure and guarentee that a car we orgainse the purchase for will not have any compliance problems.

Anyone know if DOTARS is held up at the moment? Been waiting 17 odd days since paperwork was sent through to them. Have spoken to my compliance workshop and they recon DOTARS site went down last week? Does this sound right.

    • Don't even try to run it on the stock ECU if you're going to have the boost controller bring boost above ~10 psi. I've already told you that. If you use the Nistune ECU, you will need to CAREFULLY read the available documentation for Neo tuning, and read some threads on the Nistune forums, to discover the various things you have to do to prevent the ECU from going bananas when the boost is too high. The is a table associated with th boost sensor that must be modified to prevent it from shitting the bed. This is just one of the things that you will need to do to the tune in Nistune, because the Neo turbo ECU will be expecting to see a number of things (such as the TCS) that are not there, and you have to block the DTCs on those. It is totally not surprising to me that you are having the problems that you are, but the solutions to these problems have been known for >15 years. So just get it done.
    • Hi. Sry iam not a mechanic and iam not at the car atm so i dont know 100% but they told they measure those and even try to change those. AFM they have two. Coils are new a they have my old one too. Plugs too. ECU...we have 25 NEO stock and Nistune 25 NEO.   But i dont know if any one those could be the problem and why/if/what can cause this, Only thing they did not check is fuel...but that walbro 255 is new(like 1,5 years)... That fuel pressure gauge idk...but i let them know Any suggestions?   EDIT: how can they know if it is like you say he ECU pull power when it reaches a specific boost level that is too high? Tha car has boost controler
    • Can you clarify what you mean by boost cut, do you mean it misfires both when under load (driving) and when stationary and out of gear? Or does the ECU pull power when it reaches a specific boost level that is too high (boost control issue)? Does it occur at idle with no throttle? When you say "the ECU is OK", what ECU is it and why do you think it is OK? Have you used the NEO ECU, and if so do you have a MAP sensor attached? Same for the AFM, why do you think it is OK? Do you have any way to put a fuel pressure gauge on it (even just a mechanical one between the fuel filter and fuel rail)?
    • Hi.. Just another problem. So maybe you can help. I(my mechanic) done swap from my RB20DE NEO to RB25DET NEO. Everything is OK but we have a boost cut. Coils/Plugs are ok...AFM is ok. ECU is ok. I have Walbro 255 but it "changed" sound few months ago(you can hear it ouside) you did not hear that when it was new(maybe faulty?) Sooo...what now? What can cause this boost cut? It is even when you standing still...
