When I had a dying battery, mine would throw the Airbag light several times a day.

New battery sorted it.

Reset the fault and see how you go.

Edited by Daleo

I have a consult III unit here that tells me which airbag is at fault, as well as errors from every other ecu in the car. Seems to work well from my testing and should work on any Nissan, even the older consult rectangle plugs.

Anyone interested in a group buy?

How much were they?

I know which airbag caused mine - the steering wheel one when I did the cruise control. Reconnected the airbag properly, and it didn't go away. I also didn't reset the fault, figured it'd go away like a CEL.

Probably around $400 shipped Ryan, depending how many we get. Beware, there are a few different types out there, I have tried a few now. Some are just standard obd2 readers, some are more like a consult III clone.

Anyone in Melbourne can drop down here for diagnostic repairs now. :)

Thanks for the replies lads. So it's a common occurence for other m35 owners too...

I was just suprised the light come on in the dash unprovoked / without any collision / stuffing around with any interior bits & pieces. I just jumped in to go for a drive on Friday night, and now it just flashes away as I drive.

Come to think of it - the only thing I remotely touched (that may be close to airbag plugs or something) was the mass storage and iPod connectors that sit in my glove box for the stereo. Gave them a bit of a yank just to access them.

Will check for any electrical plugs and the sort that may be responsible tonight.

If still no go, might give the error code reading a go over the weekend, and see if I can clear it. Unfortunately me and diagnostic functions arent very familiar with eachother; knowing me I may kill something!

Cheers

The main SRS box is under the centre console, but there is the passenger side airbag connector above the glove box. Maybe the stereo leads were wound around the airbag cable?

Had a look after work today; spotted a plastic connector with orange wires that sits above a little compartment in the top center of the glove box. All looked in tact from a glance. Just made sure the wiring on the plug wasn't twisted or damaged. The stereo leads were however tucked a little snug around this plug, so i just freed them and fed them through into the glove box away from the plug in question. Managed to clear the airbag light using a method posted in another thread, but went for a drive a short time ago and sure enough the bastard is flashing again... Might need to look at full diagnostic mode to get codes. Blah...

Yeah mate, that guide will help get the door apart. They are sooks tho, saying you need a 2nd person to hold it while the other unplugs the wires - bah!

Sweet. Cheers!

Is there a fuse for EACH speaker? Just wondering if its a blown fuse...

Any idea if the splits will continue to work if I replace the 6.5" speakers only?

Hey guys,

Not sure where else to post this but thought I'd let you know. There's an '03 M35 (that looks in ok nic) being wrecked for $25 in Adelaide on Gumtree.

Surely this sort of thing wouldn't happen to C34's.. ;p

The whole car isnt going for $25, I can assure you of that :) The company in question that have that car have typically charged an arm and a leg for any parts off the M35's they bring in to the country for wrecking. A free ad on gumtree is just a simple & cheap way of getting the word out they're doing it again :)

    • KW only offers a set for the R32 GTR. Popular options are D2 racing, Ksport or Öhlins. I have a D2 Racing coilover set, though I don't know for sure which one.
    • Well, the good news is you have more than one very good option for new coilovers in and around your country. Worth the drive over to KW to talk about GTR stuff.
    • Fair enough, I am in no way a tire expert so I'm not familiar with all the terms and conditions. I'll definitely note down the AD09 to potentially try in the future. Rain is not too big of a concern for now as I will probably only drive in the rain when I have to. And considering I still lack experience driving the GTR I'd more than likely take it easy too. I have coilovers in the car but as I barely got to drive so far I never bothered to even check if they are adjustable haha. The suspension is almost entirely old and worn as well so I suppose when I eventually fix that in the future that would make a huge difference.
    • There's not a great deal to report here .... except ...... FOR .... LSD!!!  I bought a Quaife LSD from the UK and shipped it here .... Wish I'd just bought locally cause the shipping and duty was $700! But there were so many diffs used in the E90s I just wanted to be absolutely certain I was getting the right one so I spoke with a supplier in the UK who builds race cars and they have heaps of experience with the E90s.  I pulled the diff out which was seriously awesome - I've never done anything like that before, I must have watched 1000 videos on YT about it as well as consulting the Bentley manual. It was super easy in the end. The diff was delivered to the awesome folks at Hornsby Diffs and will be back in a few weeks. I also replaced the diff bushings with some Nolathane ones.  Really looking forward to getting it back and getting back to the track or even the skidpan.
    • yeah... the 13kg/mm springs weren't always in there, I had 10kg/mm but doing a few SMSP commanded heavier front springs. It's so good now going into T1 and T2, just need more seat time and real tyres.
