RB26 is a "stroked" RB25 - both engines have same bore. (Probably RB25 is actually a de-stroked RB26)

RB26 gudgeon pin is higher up the piston - don't know if this indicates that the rods are the same length.

Why not just use standard RB25 rods?

lookin for sumthin stronger as hopefully ill be puttin forged pistons in aswell and ill be running high psi and yes i should put forged rods in but cant really afford it so im tryin to cover the neccesities and doing my best elsewere. im only rebuilding as my cureent engine has got 70 psi in cyclinder 2 due to over a year with 22psi has a hks gasket but standard internals r only good for so much so just lookin at all my options

if i were going to build my engine and was thinking about going on the cheap but keeping it in standard block guise and not going the 3.0l route then i would use the

*rb26 rods *forged pistons *thicker head gasket *clean the head up with reco and port matching done on the inlet and outlet yada.

they use these rods to over 300 rwkw in the gtrs.thats some serious power for a rwd street car.

Doesn't compare to $200 for used RB26 rods. Yes they fit. They bolt straight in, no mods, perfect. The difference in the RB26's is the pistons. The rods are the same length, just thicker and so therefore stronger.

I know a GTR that had standard rods with 440awkw or so and when it went it was a spun bearing. Rods were fine.

cheers for the replys guys everything just helps me in making my mind up. my rb25 was putting out 440 hp on standard internals had a hks 2mm headgasket so tryin to build a v low budget motor which can support that power if not even drop the boost a lil and make sumthing nice and reliable but still fun ;-)

I have a set in my room that will be going into my RB25.They have been fully balanced, honed, small ends replaced complete with new ARP bolts.

Will be enough for my power needs thats for sure.

    • Hey. Very valuable information about pitwork, I will pay attention when buying any consumable parts 🙏 As for the carpets - I got a handful of information from nengun, from which it appears that indeed the carpets for the driver's side are OEM. They are not able to show me any pictures due to the long chain of different sales entities but after I place the order, as soon as the goods arrive at the nengun warehouse from which they will send the shipment to me they can send me photos and if my purchase differs from OEM I can immediately return it / cancel the purchase. I think I will give it a try 😉. Of course i'll let you know what's what as soon as i get them P.s. I know the topic is not relevant to the thread, but both nengun and amayama have these SICK 😍 trunk room lamps available. Do you know anyone who ordered them? I need to have one in my car
