I have a question

How is it uploaded?

In the CD player?

Or in the DVD player?

What if you have had the DVD player converted to work in OZ will it upload through it?

The software is updated via the DVD rom above the glove box in the V35 & M35.

If you have removed the DVD rom then you will probably not have all the features to convert the language anyway as that DVD rom box is also the computer that controls all those functions.

Cheers

Are you 100% that the dvd-rom also houses the computer... I have an aftermarket dvd-player replacing the old dvd-rom and i still have full functionality of my computer. The only thing missing is the sat nav functionality.. I'm hoping that I can still get the translation even without the old dvd-rom...

Yeah my computer still works. the only thing that doesn't work is the Japan only functions. Like road works updates and traffic problems ahead warnings.

UPDATE:

I spoke to the developer recently and he is focusing on finishing the project off. His best estimate was that he should be ready to test in 4 weeks but as this is new there still may be some unexpected technical issues to resolve.

I would hope to be able to have a product ready in the next gew months.

Thank you all for your patience.

I am sure that the software is upgraded via the DVD rom. My understanding is that this box also has the computer that runs other functions. Is it possible that the DVD rom was placed somewhere else in your car?

If you do not have the DVD rom I do not know if there will be any way of upgrading that language. I will see what I can find out.

Hi Andy,

Any idea on costs and timing at this stage??

Thanks

Jas

Hi Jas,

I should be able to estimate a cost soon.

With our current exchange rate the cost has gone up as the developer sells the software in US $.

I will try to give you an answer this week.

Wow, Went through the whole topic as I was about to purchase a double din kit and installing a Pioneer head unit for my 2004 V35GT. Just bought it from a private seller, the car is getting alot of attention.

Having the factory head unit in english will certainly be a good thing if the price is right, please add me to your list Andy, would love to hear from you when you get this thing done. By the way you said that it wont work on some 2004 models, how do I know that it will work on mine?

I believe the cut off for the change of software on the V35 is 10/2004. Hope that helps.

Hi Andy just noticed the message below..that caused a big Doohhh--software developer not looking at anything after 04 ??. The functions on mine 11/05- looks the same is the firmware that different ?.

Any chance developer will look at them further down the track ? Cheers

QUOTE (Stel @ 9 Jan 2009, 09:02 AM) post_snapback.gifHi Guys,

Any idea if this translation will be compatible with an 06' model v35?

Or if there are any other options in any case?

Thanks

We don't believe it will be. At this stage we believe it will only work up to late 2003 or early 2004 models.

Cheers

Hi Andy,

To make up the numbers, put me down for the translation CD also.

I have followed this threat for a while as I was thinking of purchasing a V35, I have finally made the offer and paid the deposit on a 2003 V35 (non premium unfortunately but a great price).

I have been in touch with Chris also in relation to converting the Radio, TV, buttons, etc, etc, etc!

Looking forward to the final word on the translation!!!

Cheers,

Juan Pablo

the development of the English conversion beyond 10/04 is dependent on the number of cars imported into Russia that would justify him working out the code to do the translation.

I would think it is only a matter of time till there is enough demand from his home market but currently he is fully committed to finish the current conversion.

I am sure he will look at other systems as soon as he has completed the current project.

Cheers

Andy

  • 2 weeks later...

Sorry wasn't sure if had already but I'd like to put my name down too please...

Also just wondering, I've had an unsuccessful search about the place and couldn't find anything about the Compas option in the menu.

I've noticed that it is way off! does anyone know if there is anyway of adjusting this somewhere?

Compas will be off because we're in southern hemisphere, while it is originally built for northern hemisphere car...

Can't do anything about it as far as i know - chris roger has told me before it will be off...

If you have kids just lie to your kids that it's correct (or if you have directionally-challenged mates)

    • I feel I should re-iterate. The above picture is the only option available in the software and the blurb from HP Tuners I quoted earlier is the only way to add data to it and that's the description they offer as to how to figure it out. The only fields available is the blank box after (Input/ ) and the box right before = Output. Those are the only numbers that can be entered.
    • No, your formula is arse backwards. Mine is totally different to yours, and is the one I said was bang on at 50 and 150. I'll put your data into Excel (actually it already is, chart it and fit a linear fit to it, aiming to make it evenly wrong across the whole span. But not now. Other things to do first.
    • God damnit. The only option I actually have in the software is the one that is screenshotted. I am glad that I at least got it right... for those two points. Would it actually change anything if I chose/used 80C and 120C as the two points instead? My brain wants to imagine the formula put into HPtuners would be the same equation, otherwise none of this makes sense to me, unless: 1) The formula you put into VCM Scanner/HPTuners is always linear 2) The two points/input pairs are only arbitrary to choose (as the documentation implies) IF the actual scaling of the sensor is linear. then 3) If the scaling is not linear, the two points you choose matter a great deal, because the formula will draw a line between those two points only.
    • Nah, that is hella wrong. If I do a simple linear between 150°C (0.407v) and 50°C (2.98v) I get the formula Temperature = -38.8651*voltage + 165.8181 It is perfectly correct at 50 and 150, but it is as much as 20° out in the region of 110°C, because the actual data is significantly non-linear there. It is no more than 4° out down at the lowest temperatures, but is is seriously shit almost everywhere. I cannot believe that the instruction is to do a 2 point linear fit. I would say the method I used previously would have to be better.
