Hey guys I was bored so I decided to whip this up.

"Fast" is the name of Nissan's Database for finding part numbers for your car when you go to the dealership.

You can enter any Nissan Vehicle Vin number into fast and it will tell you the production month, date, paint code, inteior trim etc etc and all of the options your car came out with provided you have installed the appropriate libraries. They are generally broken up into Australasia/Japan/Europe and America.

For the protection of this forum I won't provide links to the Nissan Fast download however it is easily found using a search engine / torrent site.

Onto the good stuff.

  1. Once you have installed "Fast" (instructions come with download) open it and you are presened with the folowing window:
    untitled-2.jpg
  2. Enter your vin number as shown:
    untitled1.jpg
  3. Hit enter or OK and you should be presented with a screen that looks a bit like this:
    untitled2.jpg
As you can see this displays a whole heap of information about your car.
Now lets search for some parts.
  4. Click here:
    untitled3.jpg
  5. And you should get this:
    untitled4.jpg
  6. After you've made your selection(s) hit ok and you'll make it to the group index:
    untitled5.jpg
  7. Pick the section you want (right-click to unselect if you need to) and hit OK to get this:
    untitled-3.jpg
  8. Now lets get our specific parts. If you click a part code once, it turns blue and you can see the description; click it again, and it turns red and adds one to your selection list. Keep selecting the parts (if you need) and previous selections appear in green.
You can see in the above illustration theres is an option in the lower left corner to increase you're quantity. Now you can close this window and go back to the main FAST window. When you do, you will see that only the part code and description are listed for each item you've picked.
  9. Hit the p/no search button on the toolbar to get your full part number:
    untitled1-1.jpg
  10. Bingo! Take that number off to Nissan and Your set.
  11. Wait a few days And you get this!

Not sure if this is right thread to ask, but I thought I'd ask.

I've got FAST, which one of files for Skylines? (a1, a2, a3, b1, b2) and is there a thread on how to install on computer (yes I'm dumb).

Any help would be great.

Thanks

I did upload FAST to some web mirrors, but I don't know if they're still up (instructions in the link as well)

a1, a2, a3, b1 & b2 is all skylines (up to 2001 if you have the version everyone has)

Cheers for your help, might have to get my mate to attempt to install it for me (yes i'm really that dumb!!).

Back to the tutorial, very handy.

Cheers

Yeah it works great , i just want to ask ,if your looking for parts on a different model and you dont have a vin number what do you do then.

i.e i have a R34 GTT but im looking for BNR 34 parts also how can i do this ( i tried the parts master but i need numbers to input , i need to use fast so i can see image of part as well.

for those interested - I have the 2009 ADM disc here. I would like the USDM one if its out there. it would make looking up G35 stuff a LOT easier for me.

To search for parts without a VIN simply type the series your interested in into the 'Model Series' field (see first post above), then hit return and wait. After awhile you should see that the 8 (ie 2 rows of 4) buttons immediately below the model series/Prod.M/Y fields become available to select. If you click on each in turn you'll see that they are now drop-down boxes, which allow you to select the various broad model options available for that series. For example, one drop-down will show all the engines available for a particular model series; another will show transmission options and another will show 2DR/4DR type, etc, etc.

So in your case simply type in R34 to 'Model Series', press return, wait, then select RB26DETT engine, 2Dr, Hicas, etc, etc. You can then search for the parts as described above. Note that if Nissan made changes to parts within the model series (ie supercessions), when you eventually come to select the parts you are interested in, the FAST system will ask you to make a choice about the month and year of manufacture of R34. At that point you will have to make a bit of an educated guess about which way to jump, although the FAST system will also show you the supercessions.....if you know where to look.

Some other handy tricks.

If you're having no luck finding a part, in the main screen hit F7 which will bring up a description search box. You can only have one word in each box.

Also part codes and sections should stay the same between models. For instance, an air filter part number will almost always start with 16546 and be in section 165, not matter what vehicle. So if you're using it regularly this can be a faster way to find what you need.

bit of a dead thread, but the versions i can get my hands on seem to have the aus and nz models missing, its the same with alot of the other parts interpreters that i use and i know you don't need it as our stuff is imported but it would be good to be able to do aussie cars too.

anyone know where i can get them?

I am not sure being an old thread if I will get a response, but I am chasing the part number for a BOV gasket and the bulb holder in the A/C unit.

Two photos of the bulb holder attached.

Thanks in advance.

    • Have a vb in honour of the car comming back
    • It was a great, but typical track day, and some VB was ingested at the night time debrief 🤪
    • And so, to round this out, I couldn't be happier to confirm @MBS206 has decided to buy the car. He drove down from sunny QLD with a trailer last week and it is off to its new home today. I'll let Matt confirm on next steps but I understand broadly that the plan is to leave it pretty much as is, and just get some quality wheel time with a nicely balanced car that is pretty much track ready. There are a few a jobs still to be done first but nothing too major and I think its a very smart buy Dinner last night at the Paragon with a round of VBs (mostly) for Neil
    • Well, 50 pages and the end of a chapter for this car. We took it out for a shakedown at Wakie yesterday, and everything went well. There were a couple of niggles: - Oil cooler fitting leak - tightened, cleaned, stopped leaking - Radiator cap overflow fitting was leaking....Mark called it, the overflow fitting was threaded in and not tight....tightened, tested and held pressure - Small oil leak at the rear of the block, probably the turbo oil feed - too hot to get at it comfortably but probably just needs to be nipped up - leak at the driver's side rear brake line where it meets the hardline. Fitting wasn't loose, so Matt backed it off and back on, no further leaks - there's also a leak somewhere on the top of the fuel tank, maybe that cross over fuel line - that was has been left to fix when its on a hoist Otherwise than those niggles the car went great, turned great and stopped great so it was a very successful day out. I'm always really nervous when a car first hits the track after a long break, especially with a brand new engine as well but it was great. VID-20251011-WA0007.mp4  Big thanks to @The Bogan who dropped by and helped out, @MBS206 and my nephew Lachlan the apprentice.  Neil's wife Mel also surprised the hell out of all of us by dropping by; she's up in Tamworth these days but was travelling to Melbourne so had plausible deniability for turning up at the garage, it was great to see her but also obviously a bit sad all round.
