Hey guys,

Went for a drive over the weekend only to find a self tapping screw/bolt stuck in my RE55

IMO it looks to be repairable as it is nowhere near the shoulder of the tyre. I remember reading about Aaron (R34GTR) getting one puncture repaired but he never mentioned where he got it done.

Would you trust your local bob jane to repair such a tyre that reg sees mid 200kmh on a track or should I take it elsewhere?

Cheers

Ant

From memory that day at Calder when Aaron got a puncture I think he got hold of a puncture repair kit from crazy Frank.

Basically drilled the hole out on the tyre a little bigger and bunged in a piece of rubber from the repair kit.

Any tyre store should be able to fix it and I'd say it would be safe.

If you're on the west side of town I'd get the boys from Bridgestone Maribyrnong where a fair few of us buy our RE55's from to check it, otherwise if it's out of your way a normal tyre outlet will suffice.

cheers

Archie

Anywhere that sells and fits them should be able to do it, but if you want to take it to a specialist, craig from trackside tyres should be able to help. He's the official distributor of RE55 in Australia, but be prepared to cop an earful about not buying those tyres from him :(

Hmm, timely thread. I have a tyre that needs a puncture repaired too.

Oh apparently they are not a run flat tyre. Who knew?

Just to clarify

He is ONE of the official distributors and that doesn't mean he has the ability to sell them any cheaper than any other tyre outlet.

All it means is that he gets the shipment before others do and he can attend and sell these tyres at track days.

Sorry I meant Victoria, not Australia. official distributor for Victoria.
