i dont understand why people dont rig up a switch mounted under dash or anywhere hidden that cuts power supply to ignition/fuel pump/anything that makes the car start. such an easy cheap way to at least stop people driving off in your ride!

park it near the pedestrian entrance to the shopping centre, where more ppl walk by

that's quite common sense, I used to park in Macquarie Shopping Centre and do that

why? because I'm paranoid about my car been stolen which is a good thing.

What happened with the just jap car & the other autosport gtr that was pinched earlier, you cant tell me their were no leads regarding possible theives etc when both cars were recovered!

Cmon what about everyone else's cars in the shire?

Yes, they closed that thread pretty damn quickly. Didn't really say much after they got the car back.

All this BS means we need to take more precautions than the next driver. Imports are too much of a theft target.

If anyone is missing insurance/immobiliser/alarm- get them! Or you could lose your hard-earned car.

I checked NS forum, the dude didn't have alarm OR insurance.

There's a lesson.

Either the thieves have some sort of magical insurance radar to find the cars that arent insured, or a large majority of people dont have their cars insured at all!! I havent heard of ONE car stolen that has had insurance in a couple of years at least!!! :stupid:

that sucks, never hear many stories about commodores or falcons or excels getting stolen as much as imports..

I don't think everyone can afford insurance, I got quoted over 3k to insure my car, like wtf? its only a car thats worth around 14k?

Its cheaper to insure a lexus omg

That's not true but there does seem to be a large number of unprotected cars out there. Of course those other thieves - the insurance companies - don't help with their premiums and their policies. The other problem is people's priorities. They spend money on turbos or intercoolers or whatever instead of alarms and insurance. They spend it on new wheels instead of on track days. I could go on.

plenty of cars with insurance are stolen. it's just that the owners don't usually want to air out their business on forums, and just let the police and the insurance company do their work knowing that they will either be getting their car back, or a cheque. my car was stolen about a year ago, but of course it was insured so I didn't really have a need to post any "FARK!!! HELP MY CAR IS STOLEN" threads.

    • There's restrictor pills in the stock boost control hoses. That's how they set the amount that was bled off and hence the "high" boost setting. The usual mod in the day was to remove it and send the "high" boost setting up to about 14 psi.
    • Thanks Duncan, that's the best info I've read. Furthermore after learning about the PCM programming side controlling the factory boost solenoid, the purpose of the solenoid is to "bleed" boost when pin 25 is earthed, thus allowing spring pressure in the wastegate actuator to overcome diaphragm boost pressure, thus closing or reducing the position of the wastegate flap creating more boost as the turbo is able to spin faster. It's pretty cool to see a designated Pill to do exactly this, would have liked to have seen it with a tiny filter over the end for those moments in vacuum.  The constant bleed pill has now been removed completely from the system and solenoid boost control has been restored once again.   Case closed 😂
    • The wideband reading is meaningless if it's not running. Why are you using shitty old sidefeeds on any engine, let alone a Neo? What manifold and fuel rail are you using to achieve that? Beyond that, can't help you with AEM stuff as I've never been their ECU/CAS combo.
    • Manual boost controllers (where a little of the boost was bled off) were quite common back in the day, because they were cheap and easy. Generally they had a manual adjustment screw rather than being fixed like yours. Down side is they always bleed boost, not just when you want them to so an electronic boost controller that uses a solenoid will have less lag.
    • Hello , im new here and i have A31 home build  RB25det neo stock eng / turbo  aem ems 2 blue connector  aem 3.5 map aem cas disk aem wideband connected to ecu  355 lph pump 550 nismo yellow injectors side feed aftermarket regulator  and won’t start with base aem tuner basic tune eventually flipped cas 180 degree so it triggers on correct stroke not in exhaust cycle  Now it won’t start Wideband reads 10 and 11 at lowest fuel setting  and will share calibrations soon for aem tuner i think something is wrong in aem tuner    please if you have any information, am very grateful
