sewid
lol, 5,000km run in? whoever told lcy that is having a laugh. by that measure it would take most owners about a year to get it run in. they are pretty much good to go from the factory but 500km or so is good practice before really giving it any boot.it reminds me of the rumour about needing engine teardown every 12 months... Nissan recommend not exceeding 3500 rpm the first 2,000km. There most definitely is run in period with the GT-R. sewid
Looks like an interesting story if proven real. I just wonder how many of you guys would rev & drive a brand new car through its gears given that;(a) its not your car (b) you wouldnt even afford to pay the excess should you hit something © realizing that its somewhat rude and immature to do so Before getting my car, I wouldnt even accept a good friends offer to drive his M6 for the 3 months of his licence suspension. Would have been great ofcorse, but common sense comes into play. Again, looks like a good read, if all is true. Lol.. that sounds exactly like Adam after I drove the 35 GTR... how does it feel to be on the other side of this Adam? bigslick
I don't think so dude 6th gear 65kph and just over 2000 RPM? It doesn't ad up ..... True. That would put the geared top speed at about 210kph. Not that I doubt the truthfulness of your experience Adam. N/A®
wtf were you coming from, the cars built for bashing, you get offered a drive you'd be a cock not to accept it. You are absolutely right. Ignore the doubters But unlike Adam, I didnt doubt you because of jealousy or the fact you were first to post a drive, I somewhat doubt him because of the BS he has been spinning for the last 5 years of knowing him. Ignore the doubters Youre right Sewid. I got a dose of my own medicine. I guess i deserve that for being pessimistic. Sorry i doubted you. I suppose i was incredulous that you beat me to it! Still, the GTR made its mark and left a strong impression on me even if it didnt belong to me. Im just happy and content i was given the opportunity to sample it and trusted enough in essence by a complete stranger to "have a go" with it. Japan does crazy things to those that arent Japanese and i can chalk this unique experience up to another thing i just cant explain being a foreigner here. That would never have happened for me in Australia. I stake my life to that little statement and am grateful none the less. Hope you all enjoyed my write up. It was fun for me to let you all know how it was.. Now..for that video some have been asking for... m3gtr
Here is the very crappy vid i shot with my old Nikon S4. We had just left the restaurant and i was jumping into the drivers seat. Again, the car is awesome and a big thanks to Koichi as his trust in me behind the wheel of a 2 month old GTR was invaluable. I will try and get some clearer, more precise photos and videos at a later stage. Did you hit the limiter in 4th & 5th? In a standard GTR it is not possible to reach the limiter in 4th. You're at 180 before your close to the redline. You wont hit the limiter in 5th but i certainly hit redline in 4th and it was still going. God knows what the speedo was reading. Everything was happening so quickly.
