Hello, Im just wondering if anyone is going to be visiting the Nismo factory in the near future. If anyone is going, I'm hoping you could you could take some high resolution shots of a car that I've been a bit obsessed with recently. The Nismo R33 with the R1 engine in it. I don't know if there's an official name for it or not, but photos of that car has been very very difficult to come by on the internet. The pics I have are only small ones and would like to have one that I can have it printed out in photo quality.

It's this car.

i know, it's so rare, i've been searching for photos for the longest time and 6 photos on the internet just isn't doing it for me anymore. I have got to get more. If I can get some good high resolution photos, I'm really planning on getting it done in poster format.

pretty sure I have a fair few of it from 2006 I think it was (maybe 05). either way I probably didn't take enough as I was more interested in the Z-tune R34 which had just been released at the time.

have a quick check in my photo diary thread. if not in there, I will try and find them over the weekend.

Omori Factory has changed a lot lately. Unless you have an appointment with someone there is very little to do there.

That being said last time I was there in January I did spot an R34 Z-Tune which seemed to be having rear suspension problems so the poor mechanic had to drive it around a lot  , also the new Nismo 380RS 3.8 litre stroked 350Z was there being prepared for TAS. Then they rolled out the SuperGT 500 350Z from 2007 season to put it in a truck for transportation. That was fun to see three dudes just pushing a GT500 car around trying not to scrape it on the driveway.

We just got lucky. Usually though you'd be lucky to see whatever car they have in the showroom.

Aaanyways, when I went there in July 05 I was invited to look around in their garage where I snapped a few photos of the R1 R33 but unfortunately it was packed into a tight garage so not great photos.

I have a stack of pics of the R1 on my other machine.

The staff at Nismo kindly bought the R1 and the Z Tune down for Beer Baron and I to photograph on one of our previous trips.

Awesome car.

    • Yes, I know🙄 but the sequential is not in my budget... don't want to reduce power neither, so looks like I'm stuck in the rabbit hole🤣
    • You’ll be very upset when you bust that too not to mention the gearing totally sucks. Don’t do it.
    • Is the panel filter one that is oiled? Have you ever cleaned or touched the AFM?
    • So.... the K&N air box thingo was too big, ended up gifting it to a mate, well, by gifting it he actually supplied food and beer at the pub,  which was nice, as it will not sit on a shelf in the garage for the next 10 years I did trim up some of the existing stuff to neaten it all up and gave it some wrinkle paint, unfortunately it currently has a used and abused mish mash of different types of hose clamps, 4 big fat T bolt type (shit), and a few normal clamps of vairing sizes and brands, but..... only until the 6 constant tension black worm clamps that I ordered from EFI solutions turn up next week Currently the current hose clamps are triggering me hard, LOL Is this the final version, probably not, I really want just 2 silicone pieces, a straight bit of silicone from the filter to the MAF is easy and will happen as soon as I head into Just Jap tomorrow, the problematic part is a 30° silicone bend from the MAF to the TB that I can connect the engine breather from the head, I found that there are bulk head fittings for boat bilge pumps that should work, but until I can get a 30° silicone bend the alloy pipe, and the 11ty thousand hose clamps, are there for the foreseeable future 4 hose clamps are golden, 6 are grudgingly acceptable, the 8 currently holding it all together is just taking the piss    I've also ordered 60 more retaining wall blocks for the front yard, I mis-gonculated the height that was required to get above the base of the Photinia's (red robin's) that are the hedge behind the front fence, currently it is 2 blocks high, and about 1/2 a block short, so going 3 blocks high will be above the base of the red robin's, and allow some room for mulch
