Skaife used to always be the quickest of his driver pairing, now he's got Tander that can punch out the quickest laptimes whilst he just keeps it on the track.

I actually thought that Skaifes slow pitstop (when he had trouble doing up his belts) was going to lose him the race but it seems as though Tander got onto the wet tyres quick enough to make up some positions.

So who's going to win Bathurst,,,I'm up for a FPR or a DJR main team doing the deed.

As much as I love Skaifey I dislike Tander.

888 suck only because of dane and so does Gay Ricky.

The dark horse could well be the stupid-cheap team or the 2nd FPR team. Canto and Youdlen may well factor in the arvo.

Go Frosty.

Neil.

I'm kinda conflicted. I've always been a Skaify fan but really like the way Lowndes has been going as well. Either one of those two would be great.

Actually looking forward to it cause i haven't watched a race in years.

Was revving myself up last night with a few hours of the 91 and 92 race. Damn those GTR's sounded great.

Frosty has a cute Mrs so if he is doing well she gets plenty of air time, which makes for good viewing :D

Personally i really want to see Tod Kelly and Perkins Engineering/Jack Daniels Racing get a result. Larry can always get a competitve car to the mountain and Tod has been on the fringe of the Top 10 and in the Top 10 at races. Be good to see Shane Price get a result too but i really hope its Pretty that gets the co-driver seat with Kelly...

And cant help myself. I know its not going to happen but i would love to see Skaife and Steto suit up for awin on the hill. Fark Ford for dumping the fella, and curse DJR for treating him the way they did....Jr should have gotten the ass before Seton

The only thing I hate about the Bathurst weekend is the constant repeats of segments on the tv coverage. I don't want to switch the tv on early sunday morning to watch 2hrs repeats of the previous days stuff..... c'mon Crompto

wow is this still on?

Neil do you want that bitburger before the weekend? I might grab the other one, can't think of a better way to watch the race

Yes it is still on smartarse,,,I get your point though,,,Why Cockyhead never spents money on adverts I'll never know.

So you buying the beer,,,I never say no to a nice drop of german beer,,,,I'll bring the glasses. You know once we open it we have to drink all of it!!!.

Roy,,,Renee is a cutey I have to agree. She has no need for airbag protection,,,oh shit did I type that,,,I'm a grubby male pig.

I love that old line "behind every great man theres a great women",,, well Frosty wouldn't have got that drive without her and thats the truth.

Benm,,,I do,,,sorry mate by I have a race car to get ready for the weekend after at oran park (day/nighter)and just won't have time to see any Saturdays stuff.

DJR81,,,you don't think Junior/Will have a chance,,,I do.

Go Frosty

Neil.

Maybe - they are short odds for a podium. I just don't think they will have that last little bit of speed near the end. Here is hoping Junior doesn't stick it in the wall this year (again). Would be a popular result if they did manage it, however. It would certainly make me smile.

Garf fastest this morning with a 2.06.99. Murph is up there too, so good on him. #18 P5 & Wargbanna is doing a bang up job.

skaife for the win. I'm with you Troy. stick seto in there too. if he bagged a win with skaife that would surely see the value of my seton seat sky rocket and with the state of the AUD I could use a few quid!

and there may not be that many tander lovers here but I don't mind the bloke. and he sure can drive. watching him drive a civic in a round of IP under 2 litre (with a competetive field) at oran grand prix circuit a year or two back was an eye opener. he went from dead last (about 20th or so) to first in about 8 laps. then did it again the next race. so he's certainly not in V8s for his looks. and he mentioned that it was the first time he'd raced a FWD car. very impressive.

V8 Supercar driver Paul Weel is expected to be cleared of any serious injury following a heavy accident during practice at the Bathurst 1000.

V8 Supercar driver Paul Weel is expected to be cleared of any serious injury following a heavy accident during practice at the Bathurst 1000 Friday.

Weel, 29, had to be extracted from his PWR Holden after a collision with Team Kiwi Racing driver Chris Pither.

Pither walked away, while Weel is experiencing some lower back pain and has been airlifted to Nepean Hospital as a precaution.

Pither and Weel will take no further part in the weekend though, with both cars suffering extreme damage.

The accident occurred near the McPhillamy Park area of the circuit, when Weel made contact with a safety barrier and slid sideways onto the track and Pither slammed into the driver's side door.

    • I guess one thing that might be wrong is the manifold pressure.  It is a constant -5.9 and never moves even under 100% throttle and load.  I would expect it to atleast go to 0 correct?  It's doing this with the OEM MAP as well as the ECU vacuum sensor. When trying to tune the base map under load the crosshairs only climb vertically with RPM, but always in the -5.9 column.
    • AHHHH gotchaa, I'll do that once I am home again. I tried doing the harness with the multimeter but it seems the car needed a jump, there was no power when it was in the "ON" position. Not sure if I should use car battery jump starter or if its because the stuff that has been disconnect the car just does send power.
    • As far as I can tell I have everything properly set in the Haltech software for engine size, injector data, all sensors seem to be reporting proper numbers.  If I change any injector details it doesnt run right.    Changing the base map is having the biggest change in response, im not sure how people are saying it doesnt really matter.  I'm guessing under normal conditions the ECU is able to self adjust and keep everything smooth.   Right now my best performance is happening by lowering the base map just enough to where the ECU us doing short term cut of about 45% to reach the target Lambda of 14.7.  That way when I start putting load on it still has high enough fuel map to not be so lean.  After 2500 rpm I raised the base map to what would be really rich at no load, but still helps with the lean spots on load.  I figure I don't have much reason to be above 2500rpm with no load.  When watching other videos it seems their target is reached much faster than mine.  Mine takes forever to adjust and reach the target. My next few days will be spent making sure timing is good, it was running fine before doing the ECU and DBW swap, but want to verify.  I'll also probably swap in the new injectors I bought as well as a walbro 255 pump.
    • It would be different if the sealant hadn't started to peel up with gaps in the glue about ~6cm and bigger in some areas. I would much prefer not having to do the work take them off the car . However, the filler the owner put in the roof rack mount cavities has shrunk and begun to crack on the rail delete panels. I cant trust that to hold off moisture ingress especially where I live. Not only that but I have faded paint on as well as on either side of these panels, so they would need to come off to give the roofline a proper respray. My goal is to get in there and put a healthy amount of epoxy instead of panel filler/bog and potentially skin with carbon fiber. I have 2 spare rolls from an old motorcycle fairing project from a few years back and I think it'd be a nice touch on a black stag.  I've seen some threads where people replace their roof rack delete with a welded in sheet metal part. But has anyone re-worked the roof rails themselves? It seems like there is a lot of volume there to add in some threads and maybe a keyway for a quick(er) release roof rack system. Not afraid to mill something out if I have to. It would be cool to have a cross bar only setup. That way I can keep the sleek roofline that would accept a couple bolts to gain back that extra utility  3D print some snazzy covers to hide the threaded section to be thorough and keep things covered when not using the rack.
    • Probably not. A workshop grade scantool is my go to for proper Consult interrogation. Any workshop grade tool should do it. Just go to a workshop.
