Thread revival.

After powercruise I had decided to leave the drag radials on, ordering a another pair soon so I can put my 18s back on the rear. Its the only tyre that has decent traction.

Took the car to the drags in June and only managed a feel out run before I destroyed the diff and snapped a half shaft :(

The spline from one of the shafts spun inside the axle gear which pushed it apart, then the other shaft snapped clean. Even though one gear broke I had to order two from Tomei which was a wallet killer! Could have almost bought a new diff.

So I only did a 12.3 at 137mph.

Done a few cruises and all up put about 1500kms on the motor. Took it out last night for a run up the mountains to fill up at the new United in Blaxland that sell E85.

Much better drive for me than going to Rozelle for fuel.

So now Im just doing some little tidy up stuff and would like to get the car resprayed at some stage.

Here are some vids from last night:

Awesome car! I love the first video of you feathering the throttle on flyby, awesome power and sound!

Do you also run on 95ULP at times or just E85 the whole time? Do you need to make any changes to the management system or does it self adjust to accomodate between the different fuels??

I've got a United servo near me that sells E85 (conveniently on the way to Calder Park too) so would love to run the odd tank here and there but not all the time. I've got a Power FC though.

Cheers.

    • It's funny, as Ive seen plenty of people use them in cheap builds on YT. And they actually go okay, even though a lot of other maxspeedingrods stuff is terrible. Those turbos seem reliable enough, the only part being, a good quality turbo that is "identical" to it, will out perform it day in and day out. In both a lower boost threshold, and the ability to flow more air at the same boost pressure. As a cheap cheap replacement, not a terrible choice. For cheap and shouldn't blow in a day, not terrible (like other eBay/Temu turbos) for low cost and still decent performance, that's where the question comes in to play from the results I've seen. I'd actually find it hilarious to buy one, and strap it to a paddock basher or some other cheap as POS originally NA car, and send it to the moon!
    • The maxpeedingrods turbo is cheap and bolts on to stock parts. I think you just need a bigger silicone coupler for the intake. Its a cheap china turbo, but it's been running on mine for almost 3 years at 16-19 psi.
    • What do they look like right after you've tried to start it with everything connected? Also post photos of what they actually look like.
