Yea, flamin mongrel is quick. hehe

As for the car, senior officer gave him one month to take off all the mods and bring the car back to willy cop shop for an inspection. He didnt want to give him one week as it woukld be almost impossible to fix up in 5 days. Poor flamin mongrel haha, maybe when its stock il be able to give him a better run  I was tripping out, this coppa new these cars inside out. lol

mustve been a nice cop to pretty much "let him off" in the way of no defect/epa and just make him come back to the cop shop and show him the car again.

still a hassle though taking everything off and making it standard.

What about the mods made them illegal? On p's or just not done with EPA in mind etc? I've always wondered this. If p's are gone. N u enclose your pod n do everything proper. They've got nothing to get u on. Or am I mistaken? Sumone fill me in. LOL.

last night saw a white r34gt at fountain gate driving around near magid drive and also a dark colour r32 with sau stickers at fountain gate maccas. gave it a little bit as they were leaving the car park lol.

lol

mite be my dark coloured r32.

ye thats it, just dont line him up.

I was actually referring to what he got defected for, normally they pick those obvious ones so you have to get a full rwc anyway, he sort of got off light but if this cop knows his stuff it might not be as easy as he thinks, clever move by the cop as well, this way he has to take it back to a cop that knows what he is looking for as opposed to some nufty vic roads worked who will just check what is on the bit of paper.

I believe enclosing the pod does not matter here in vic, you have to run a factory air box if you have a fmic.

Looking at that car though, im guessing he has an atmo bov, pod + intercooler, adjustable boost controller (not allowed to have that at all), probably a full 3.5" very loud exhaust, too low, non padded steering wheel, no charcoal canister and a host of other things.

tmu cops have always bragged that they can defect a car the minute you drive it out of a show room so if they really want to do you (having no water in your washer bottle will get you a defect) they will find some little thing.

Wow. After reading that list of mods etc. Now I understand. Lol. U can still get some serious power if you use your head a bit though. Internals, ecu ( no hand controller) boost controller in ecu or get stealth looking one, high flow exhaust doesn't have to rattle windows.

However, who said you had to sensible wen if comes to nodding. I think tgats half the fun. To a point...

    • Yes the gear for the R33/34 is different, it is red and has a different number of teeth. My part didn't come with that gear though, so I don't know how many teeth are on the red one. You'd have to reuse the 260RS/R33 gear, as long as it's not destroyed.   Haha, as unfortunate as that might be it was working fine for about the first 1500km I've had the car for now.
    • Update all   thanks to the workshop manual, it lead me back to checking fuses as mentioned central locking and door open lights worked when acc was switched on. diagram attached shows two points of power 1. ACC and 2.  Batt with the later being fused (#28) I did check the fuses using a multimeter but I must have stuffed that up also. Went back and checked the batt fuse in interior fuse box and you wouldn’t believe it… a blown fuse. replaced fuse and everything is now working as it should including the climate control   thank you all with your positive insight and knowledge.
    • Where is the warning "That this thread is super old"   I just went into a 5 year old thread, went to do a reply, and couldn't see anywhere obvious a warning of it being super old
    • Duncan is correct. Pitwork (and Toyota's own cheap brand "Drive Joy") were primarily created as brands to sell other manufacturers car parts. It would be weird if Nissan sold parts for Toyota vehicles with a Nissan logo on it, so they created Pitwork to sell parts for other brans Toyota, Honda etc. They are not the same as Nissan genuine parts, although they *do* meet Nissan's standards for replacement parts. They aren't supposed to be a substitute for genuine parts, but a cheaper alternative that is better than Ebay fake parts from you-know-where.
