I'd kinda go lateish though... I felt like such a dodgy bastard in there cause it's so not meant for cars!! Don't think I'd like to get caught or have to explain it to someone!

I'll have that covered if we do encounter the authorities. :D

Besides if we have problems there i'm sure we can take off and find an alternative spot....Can-bra isn't that bigger place. :D

theres a million cars there every weekend getting photos. and im sure if they wanted to stop cars getting there, or down on the water front they would have by now. ive been down on the planks at night with a mate, cop car drove past and nothing. but eh, if u dont wana go down there then dont :P theres better spots to take photos anyway, and much more "dodgy" aswell. been yelled at once or twice haha good fun

Hey everybody!

It has been a while since we started talking about the banner and i am happy to see that we are trying to get something that we are all happy with.

I think that we should try and keep it as simple as possible: it is a banner, not a poster.

With this in mind, i would like to bring back Bullet's original ideas. I like the black one, but i would like to see the 'ACT' a bit smaller like in the white version; but still solid red.

Just adding my 2c and i hope this can be done for 'maques in the park', not sure when it is though

My bro is an absolute gun with photoshop etc (did it as a profession for a while). I'll see if he has time to come up with something. It would probably be a little more errr arty/conceptualthan the stuff I see here (think Barney's tv ad in the Simpsons), but I'll tell him to keep it simple.

Everyone is putting in such a great effort and those making all the changes aren't complaining - Thanks, we appreciate what you're all doing here, keep bringing on the ideas :)

Ben, that would be great if your bro doesn't mind.

I like the idea of using parliament house in the foreground, but...

1. No one in SAU ACT has an R35 (that I'm aware of).

2. Its WAY to busy and wouldnt easily attract the eye of on lookers.

3. It doesnt actually say "Skylines Australia ACT" anywhere on it.

Just my 2 cents :D

i'll have a stab at it if ur still looking for ideas?

i did a graphic design course for 4 years, so it wont be completly horrible, just a little horrible.

warning tho, i now code 90% of the day, and my graphics work consists of mainly... uh, icons.

fail!

i'll install illustrator tonight, get some font packs, and see what i come up with.

    • The team at OBD2 Australia are pretty good, shoot them an email and ask them. I've dealt with them before for work stuff. I'd be shocked if it didn't work, so long as Consult can activate the ABS. But you might need to use KLine for it which would be the stopper, as I don't think that piece does KLine comms.
    • Yeah and hence my ghetto way of slamming the brakes, get the ABS to cycle, rebleed seems to be a sensible workaround.
    • Hey! Happy to help. Nothing inherently wrong with the adapter, it's more so with Brett Collins himself. He gave me a lot of incorrect information when I was in contact with him and was extremely rude when I challenged him. He stated I could not use any aftermarket twin plate clutches except for his own, not to use the dush shield, bla bla bla and it was all BS.  Collins stated to cut roughly 14mm's off the housing, I took off 15mm to make room for the dust shield. I would confirm with whatever adapter manufacturer you're using.
    • There's plenty of OEM steering arms that are bolted on. Not in the same fashion/orientation as that one, to be sure, but still. Examples of what I'm thinking of would use holes like the ones that have the downward facing studs on the GTR uprights (down the bottom end, under the driveshaft opening, near the lower balljoint) and bolt a steering arm on using only 2 bolts that would be somewhat similarly in shear as these you're complainig about. I reckon old Holdens did that, and I've never seen a broken one of those.
    • Let's be honest, most of the people designing parts like the above, aren't engineers. Sometimes they come from disciplines that gives them more qualitative feel for design than quantitive, however, plenty of them have just picked up a license to Fusion and started making things. And that's the honest part about the majority of these guys making parts like that, they don't have huge R&D teams and heaps of time or experience working out the numbers on it. Shit, most smaller teams that do have real engineers still roll with "yeah, it should be okay, and does the job, let's make them and just see"...   The smaller guys like KiwiCNC, aren't the likes of Bosch etc with proper engineering procedures, and oversights, and sign off. As such, it's why they can produce a product to market a lot quicker, but it always comes back to, question it all.   I'm still not a fan of that bolt on piece. Why not just machine it all in one go? With the right design it's possible. The only reason I can see is if they want different heights/length for the tie rod to bolt to. And if they have the cncs themselves, they can easily offer that exact feature, and just machine it all in one go.
