Thanks guys for all you kind words and congratulations. It means a lot to Min and I.

Min got a very special birthday present this year!!

Ryder Arran Thomson

Born 2nd July 2008 @ 10.03am

Weight - 2.55kg (5lb 10oz)

Length - 44cm

He was 4 weeks early and took us completely by surprise! Min took the Tuesday off work as she was getting slight pains, but didn't think it was happening at all - She just felt uncomfortable. But then Wednesday morning at 5am the waters broke and we were at the hospital by 6 and he was born at 10.

Luckily he was just over the weight break (2.5kg) where they get taken to the special care nursery. That meant that he got to stay with us in the room until we were allowed to go home. We ended up having to stay for 5 nights and we were getting a bit over being in the hospital at the end. He did have to spend 24 hours under the UV lights as he had a bit of jaundice. (Yellowing of the skin, because of too much red blood cells and only small liver to break them down)

But we are home now and settling in OK. Min still can't believe the cheeky monkey stole her birthday!! Min was supposed to finish work on the 4th and have 4 weeks off to get organised and have everything ready!

Because he was early we hadn't decided on a name so he was the 'little man' until he finally got his name on Monday night. Min picked his first name from the book and had liked this name from about a week ago, but it took me a while to be comfortable with it. Once I accepted that we weren't allowed to rename the dog, Linkin, to retread, the baby's name all fell into place . We had already decided on the middle name a long time ago, as this is the Scottish spelling of Aaron (Arran) and is the name of the island off the coast of Ardrossan, Scotland which is where I was born and where my Grandparents still live along with most of dads side of the family.

We already have too many pics, as the granparent paparazzi were snapping away constantly.

Cheers,

Chris, Min & Ryder

    • Manual boost controllers (where a little of the boost was bled off) were quite common back in the day, because they were cheap and easy. Generally they had a manual adjustment screw rather than being fixed like yours. Down side is they always bleed boost, not just when you want them to so an electronic boost controller that uses a solenoid will have less lag.

    • Legend. I ended up finding the facebook account of the owner of the first car i sent but sadly he deactivated the account. I think you’re right in saying it’s some sort of well done custom job. Really appreciate your help anyways.
    • Totally equivalent. Stock often goes from the comp cover because that's where the actuator is also installed and the factory needs 2" of hose to make the connection - and it comes as a pre-assembled unit. They totally have a boost reference from somewhere between the turbo and the throttle(s). Oh, jeez. Just do it in M12 then. We don't actually care that much. I would expect any such AN converter fitting to rely on an o-ring or some other seal onto a flat surface under the flange of the hex**, because bolt threads are no intended to provide a pressure seal. unlike..... pipe threads. **which also requires a suitably flat and smooth surface on the turbo's boss to provide the seal.
    • I also used NP   That’s were it’s seems to be the best place to fit it? All schematic shows also that it’s should be referenced from the turbo housing. But idk, I do see high hp cars without any connection or anything to their turbos, so I really don’t know how they connect their things
