so the 2835 went in and all i can say is WOW!

basically i am totally amazed at the performance of this setup!

car made 265rwkw on creatd dyno (dyno dynamics) and is virtually lag free!

there is DEFINATELY less lag than i was experiancing on the stock turbo at 185 rwkw

car hits full boost at around 3 grand in a loaded gear and starts winding up hard and fast from 2k

low boost setting gets max 16psi @ 85kph on the dyno (4th) & holds till redline (243.7rwkw)

high boost setting gets max 20psi @ 90kph and holds till redline with only a 1psi drop (265.7rwkw)

the few times i have hit it hard enough tonight I have been amazed with the response.

from cruising in 3rd, dropping it down into 2nd there is INSTANT response

and not to mention that 1st is the only gear with traction loss in the dry. (love my greddy coilovers & pineapples!)

anyone who has this turbo and says its laggy needs a new tune and an exh cam gear!

mods:

HKS 2835 pro s

PFC

greddy exhaust cam gear

nismo 555 cc injectors

nismo fuel pump

Z32 afm

Blitz DSBS spec S

3" zorst

De-cat pipe

other usual supporting crapolla, (fmic, clutch, etc etc etc)

suspension:

greddy type s coilovers (8/6)

swaybars, strutbrace, castor, camber, pineapples

245mm dunlop lemans rears

HUGE thanx to Rob @ creatd!!!!!!

pics and dyno sheet / video will be added as soon as i get time :whistling:

yep its definitly an awesome turbo.

its interesting that you needed 20psi to make 265rwkw. Firstly mine wouldnt hold more than 16.5-17psi at redline, at which it was making the same power yours is at 20psi.

my second gear loves to light em up when coming onto boost unless im on warmed up semi slicks, perhaps i should try some of those coilovers you have!

stick your dyno sheet up, heres mine for comparo, cant remember if its in the dyno sticky.

2835ProS stock motor, stock cams and stock cam gears, peak power at 17psi.

haven't got a scanner for the sheet atm... but i'd say the ex cam gear is the diff...

mine ramps up a bit quicker than that then levels out totally flat from about 150kph - 185kph @ redline

car is getting 170rwkw by 90kph

Very nice! :whistling: I had considered the GT2835 as well and figured it'd be much like you report, good to hear they are still a sweet turbo. Definitely would be my choice over a GT-RS - though the GT3076R definitely keeps those who are a little more greedy happy haha

Yep 2835 Pro S FTW!

I posted in the turbo comparo thread but I'll chuck my dyno sheet up here too... The only real difference in mods between my setup and you guys is I'm running Tomei 256 cams (and a built bottom end)

Traction is a bit of a problem and I'm only running low boost... have to roll on the throttle very gently in lower gears and that's with Bilsteins, pinapples set to squat, cusco diff, camber bushes and 255 wide Azenis RT615... I'll get some RE55's for the track so it should be okay... when you start running more power you can really start to see the advantage of the 4wd in the GTR!

but yeah big praise for Racepace, they did a great job, I'm very happy... just need a Benno special clutch and we can turn up the boost:)

my setup is also same as yours and i also get 270rwkws @15-16psi on the racepace dyno..

fantastic turbo, one of the best upgrades anyone can do to an RB25 IMO.

What has you leaning towards the 2835 over the GT-RS???

What has you leaning towards the 2835 over the GT-RS???

for me, it was simply seeing them both side by side in the cabinet! the 2835ProS looks more impressive from every angle. And the full kit comes with a really sexy stainless dump pipe

NickR33, i am also running a built bottom end now, only other mod i have is tomei poncams, stock cam gears, so i guess same as your current setup, at 16.5psi:

traction is definitly a problem, but on warm RE55's as you step on it in 2nd gear is like being launched from a catapult!

I'm currently fitting an extrude honed OEM exhaust manifold, will know in couple of weeks if it makes any difference in this application. Having said that, by calculating the flywheel HP being made already, the turbo is probably at its upper limit.

this turbo wouldn't be ideal as a daily driving setup would it?

and by daily driving i mean...50% of me working = driving from client to client during the day 6 days a week

I have a larger Garrett GT3076R with a .82a/r turbine housing and the only thing making my car not great for doing that kind of stuff is the clutch I use. A GT2835 would be absolutely fine for daily driving, I'd say it'd be nicer to drive than the stock turbo which is an annoying POS to drive with its irritating hiss and complete inability to make any real torque or power despite the fact.

i do city/peak hour driving daily on this turbo and it works very nicely, in fact i prefer this to the standard turbo even in city/peak hour driving.

agreed, this turbo is absolutely fine for daily driving. Id even say its better than the 2530 for daily, as the 2530 surges onto boost too hard, where the 2835 is more progressive and controllable.

As mentioned, just get a friendly clutch, there are quite a few options there.

well yeah the reason I ask was coz i was always considering getting this turbo and talking to JoeyJoeJoe about him getting this setup made me wanna go for it even more! but then there's someone i know who is parting with his 2530 setup pretty soon and should be selling it to me for a reasonably cheap price so then i started to re-consider...

(Sorry to hi-jack your thread by the way, Hamish!) :D

Nice results Hamish!!

Sounds like a good set up!!

As a comparison mod....mines a GTRS turbo, pitty we are in different states mate, would be good to swap cars and see how different they are!

now get it out to the track and keep that smile on your face mate!

post-24539-1215075325_thumb.jpg

really need to get the dyno graph posted up... damn lack of scanner... but when you see the graph it really illustrates how fast this f**ker ramps onto full boost.

just took it for a drive and in the dry i really cant get it to break traction from go to redline in any gear but first...

i'm absolutely stoked!

also i forgot to mention.... when i picked up my car rob had degreased and cleaned the entire engine bay!!! :stupid:

    • Yes, I know🙄 but the sequential is not in my budget... don't want to reduce power neither, so looks like I'm stuck in the rabbit hole🤣
    • You’ll be very upset when you bust that too not to mention the gearing totally sucks. Don’t do it.

    • So.... the K&N air box thingo was too big, ended up gifting it to a mate, well, by gifting it he actually supplied food and beer at the pub,  which was nice, as it will not sit on a shelf in the garage for the next 10 years I did trim up some of the existing stuff to neaten it all up and gave it some wrinkle paint, unfortunately it currently has a used and abused mish mash of different types of hose clamps, 4 big fat T bolt type (shit), and a few normal clamps of vairing sizes and brands, but..... only until the 6 constant tension black worm clamps that I ordered from EFI solutions turn up next week Currently the current hose clamps are triggering me hard, LOL Is this the final version, probably not, I really want just 2 silicone pieces, a straight bit of silicone from the filter to the MAF is easy and will happen as soon as I head into Just Jap tomorrow, the problematic part is a 30° silicone bend from the MAF to the TB that I can connect the engine breather from the head, I found that there are bulk head fittings for boat bilge pumps that should work, but until I can get a 30° silicone bend the alloy pipe, and the 11ty thousand hose clamps, are there for the foreseeable future 4 hose clamps are golden, 6 are grudgingly acceptable, the 8 currently holding it all together is just taking the piss    I've also ordered 60 more retaining wall blocks for the front yard, I mis-gonculated the height that was required to get above the base of the Photinia's (red robin's) that are the hedge behind the front fence, currently it is 2 blocks high, and about 1/2 a block short, so going 3 blocks high will be above the base of the red robin's, and allow some room for mulch
