as people have already said this turbo is better for daily driving IMO... none of the whooshing/hissing and carrying on the stocker does (which got really annoying after a while) and I feel I have better control over when I want positive boost pressure and when I just want to putt around... the motor also doesn't feel as 'strangled' anymore... kinda like the first time you get a full exhaust on your car

the traction problems I was having were mostly to do with the freezing and damp roads that night, seems to be gripping much better now... helps if there is some heat in the tires too

Sly33 have you tried pushing anymore than 16.5psi? I thought these turbos would take 18-20psi on an RB25? That said I will be happy with 280rwkw if I can get it:)

im intrigued. dunno much about turbos but this one seems to address what i want. responsive, easy to drive. im not a top speed person more twisties. what do these kits go for and where can i buy one? are these low mounts still and would i need to upgrade my injectors? appologies for the noob questions...ha

yes these are low mounts and i would highly recommend getting the full kit rather than the turbo itself for easier installation..

depending on how much power you want, and i would imagine you would want about 250-270 from this turbo, you would need injectors, fuel pump, z32 afm and some type of aftermarket management and the basics like fmic etc.

thanks...well i got a pfc and z32 thats been sitting here for a while. im on that fence whether i should tune it as is with the stock turbo or fall off the fence and go all out and be done with power mods. Id be quite happy with 250kw and super responsivness.

ive seen pics of the kit and that dump pipe sure looks nice. what do these kits go for?

really need to get the dyno graph posted up... damn lack of scanner... but when you see the graph it really illustrates how fast this f**ker ramps onto full boost.

take a pic of it with your mobile and post it.

btw, nice review. now everyone wants one !!!! :P me included

Ohhh I wouldn't go that far, I just got back from having a drive with my .82a/r GT3076R boosted R33 S2 and I really don't look back - so much fun :P

I ordered one of these after researching for around 2 months for the best turbo upgrade for my 25. Wanting best response, higher hp than my 2530, without breaking the bank and maintaining low mount position.

2835 pro s was the answer!

Currently making 229rwkw with the 2530, looking for 250-270rwkw with the 2835. Will post once I have it installed and tuned. Just gotta wait for the thing to arrive

    • I can get more photos of it here soon and I plan to make a thread detailing the process. I received the car this way and it sorely needs refinishing. That is probably the most appealing photo of it. Up close it is fading, cracked, and needs to be re-glued. Depending on their condition I'm on the fence between refinishing or making a new set.  Another angle hiding the pimples and razor pumps
    • According to this thread the RS4V with build plate RC40 comes with the R200 diff @ 4.083 ratio as well (mine has said RC40 denotation). We may need to check if the axle stubs are the same pattern as well. The auto subframes have longer axles. However I think yours being a later Series 2 as well, we should have the same bolt pattern for the diff stubs. Unless your upgraded rear also has upgraded axles. Either way, I would not be opposed to pulling the covers to check so I can inspect that  fancy rear core  Also I don't have HICAS. I don't believe that should change things but I hope the people here with heaps more experience than me can correct me if I'm wrong   Let me know if you want to attempt to make this work and I can get some pictures of mine from under the car.
    • It's not that straightforward. For example I have had this code because my ignitor/power transistor wires were unplugged. It knows something is wrong but has no idea what it means. If you want to actually diagnose this I recommend following the service manual flowchart for code 21. Ohm out the harness, coilpacks, inspect the ECU, etc. And again, it's entirely possible for there to be no problem at all but if you're running a different coilpack it'll trigger the code because it doesn't like what it sees.
    • If it (the code) wasn't still current, it should have gone away by itself by now. No, nothing it 10/10. But it is quite likely. Everything else to do with the ignition could still be responsible (which is wires and connectors). The car is an old piece of shit now, so all the wires and connectors are also old pieces of shit.
