tdbzs12
Thanks Rekin for the pics, you're a champ m8 ;-)Mine had the exact problem as you've described. The servo arm dosen't move when I cycle through cold and hot. But when I wiggle the plug while doing that, the servo arm moved. So I tried taping up the wires, pushing the wires upwards, and all sort of other things.... but still have the same issue. Eventually I was able to find a fix, the trick is to apply a slight pressure on the actual plug towards the right (back of the car). There is a rectangular void on the left of the plug and all I did was stuff some paper in there to create that pressure and the problem solved. I was able to get cold air again!! Bloody awesome. Thanks Rekin! thanks to the both of ya! mine had the same problem but was stuck on cold even though ac doesn't seem to work but as it was stuck in the cold position so i didnt have heaters, so i too so stuck some paper in that gap and now they work perfect gunna save me on those early morniong starts in winter thanks again! guys Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/236489-r32-air-conditioning/page/3/#findComment-5207917 Share on other sites
tdbzs12
Hey guys,I too am going through R32 air con problems. My servo motor is moving, I had my air con re gassed and serviced but no luck. I found a way to run the air con in diagnostic mod and the A/C does get cold in that mode... Just not in normal mode. According to the following my outside sensor is causing the problems. So if you need to test you sensors here is the instructions for Diagnostic mode. Link: http://skylineownersusa.com/forums/showthread.php?t=47 hope this helps. just ran the diagnostic and came up with 25 so what is this senors purpose ? and what will happen or not happen if its not working? thx Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/236489-r32-air-conditioning/page/3/#findComment-5207942 Share on other sites
Locknut
Big shout out to all who have contributed to this thread, thank you all, it has saved me a lot of time, sweat and my kids ears from swear words!!! Also found my mode motor had the same connection issues as the blend motor. mystery_kid
woah thread back from the dead so anyway recently i turned my aircon on and it won't blow cold air it just blows ambient air at me, the compressor doesn't engage every so often i can turn it on and it will work, but mostly not from reading through some of these posts, it's either some kind of electrical fault or it needs regassing? I'm far from an expert on all things air con but i'll have a go! If the clutch in your compressor only works every now and then it could be more an issue with the compressor (either electrical or mechanical fault) Have also read before that low gas levels can make the air con play up Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/236489-r32-air-conditioning/page/3/#findComment-5567081 Share on other sites
mystery_kid
yeah that's exactly what it feels like, the clutch is fucked in the compressor it's pretty erratic when it will and won't work, when it does work it's fine though Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/236489-r32-air-conditioning/page/3/#findComment-5575121 Share on other sites
gwin
Bumping too, it's summer, I 've prolonged not fixing the A/C as long as possible, but its FARKING Hot. I'll give the paper in the socket a go, I juts want cold air, winter = drive with windows down Btw, does anyone have problems with the "recycle air" button? Mine doesnt seem to want to stay on Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/236489-r32-air-conditioning/page/3/#findComment-5577585 Share on other sites
gunnny
is the demistor supposed to be able to be on without the air con? because mine will only come on with the ac and the servo motor or whatever moves but it i select it to 32 degrees it doesent move as much as it does when im not in demistor mode and the air coming out wont be cold but it wont be hot and i need it to be hot to get over the pits. any help appreciated cheers Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/236489-r32-air-conditioning/page/3/#findComment-5579359 Share on other sites

t_revz
sorry to ask again but i was chasing some advice on this matter still should be able to turn off a/c after selecting demist. but demist is hopeless with a/c running. but at 32 with a/c should still be hot Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/236489-r32-air-conditioning/page/3/#findComment-5582360 Share on other sites

mystery_kid
yeah it's definitely gas related i got the aircon going just then and left it on for a while and it was good to start and then eventually just stopped making cold air with the compressor on Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/236489-r32-air-conditioning/page/3/#findComment-5587401 Share on other sites
Chris Rogers
ok if that is the case: look at all the joins along the way to the condensor (outside coil) if any of them are dirty then your leak is there. most I haev looked at the leak is in the front right area (standing in front of car.) mystery_kid
it could just need regassing as i have no idea when it was last regassed and i've had the car for 3 years now and i haven't had it regassed and i know the owner before me was a complete noob that wouldn't have had it done Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/236489-r32-air-conditioning/page/3/#findComment-5588343 Share on other sites
simonthomasgoodwin
im pretty sure my ac just blows air(neither hot or cold, but as engine heats up it goes warm to hot understandibly as i noticed an ac pipe runs less than 10cm away from the belly of my turbo) i came up with 23, 24, 25 on diag test.. i knew about th water temp as my gauge says nothing all the time.. but what are the other 2? is it just simpls enuf as replacing them and my aircon works? :S also i havent done any of the other checks as yet thanks in advance! Robzilla32
Very useful writeup. In addition to holding the socket in place with some paper, I found that some cabling had been zip tied in such a way that it was inhibiting the movement of the rod connected to the servo arm. Ended-up pulling out the blend-door servo motor and resoldering the tracks.
