I am willing to bet that a stock RB25 bottom end will be able to handle 350rwkw with E85.

Get me a stock rb25 engine and i will drop it into my car. If i break it at anything under 350 rwkw i will pay for the engine.

This fuel is soo forgiving its not funny. You can get the MAX torque level and then advance the timing a extra 10 deg and it will STILL NOT DETONATE.

DETONATION destroys engines!!! if your not pinging your RB25 it will last shitloads longer!!! Look at old mate from wollongong who ran over 380rkw and ran a 10 sec quarter on unstable pump 98...

add e85 to the equasion and your talking BIG power. I would not be suprised if you can reach 400rwkw with e85 and a stock RB25. (maybe some rod bolts might be needed but you never know lets try it ???)

dont listen to him Dave...its his birthday and he's drunk.

he's already rang and asked can he use your new engine as a test mule :(

It will be a test mule, But ill be the one riding it. :(

My thoughts precisely Guilt Toy, I think its hard for people to get their head around how good this fuel actually is in making power and looking after the engine. Two extremely good things to have if you ask me.

strap a turbo to mine and chuck some injectors in there and you can use mine :( I barely drive it as it is...

Just make sure you keep Glue or sticky tape handy wont ya for those pistons :(

BINGO!

Im going to squeeze every usable (safe) power i can with my E85 setup.

Maybe 340rwkw.

Looking at your build i would say its very possible indeed. You have the larger rear and cams so should be up there thats for sure.

I still think my car has more in it also because boost goes to 24 and then trails off to 19 by redline. If i can get it to hold 22-23 to redline who knows. The day it was dynod wasnt the optimum either.

1st run it spun its lips off to the tune of 279rwkw so we re strapped

2nd run it wheel spun again at the top of the torque and registered 323.8

3rd run the heat had set in from idling and the runs before, it still spun a bit at the top of the torque but it was the only usable graph at 323.2

The torque line is so steep a ramp its almost unbelieveable hence the spinning on the rollers. Good times :(

haha, i have cable ties in the car at all times!

I'd be fine with it breaking, the battery got down to 9.1 volts just yesterday, I haven't driven it in weeks... I also found out that 9.2 volts is the bare minimum you need for HIDs to work :(

Im currently doing lots of research into reflux stills to make my own ! As it will be years until its up north QLD.

Reality is until lots of cars are E85 capable, it won't be prolific. I believe holden commodore is E85 in 2010 ???? This will be the catalyst i think , when the local cars can run it ..... can't wait.

Gary

i'm just waiting on my car to get back from the panel beaters and i'm good to go!

united are rolling out e85 at lots of servo's in vic real soon AFAIK

300rwkw on hks 2835 here i come!

You only have the .63 rear housing?

Jeez your power figure is impressive then, that would have to be the limit of flow for that turbo.

Might give 2bar a try, my new engine setup has slightly bigger cams and lower CR than the previous one so its a little more boost friendly.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY ANTHONY aka MAD SCIENTIST as Paul says :P

    • So, version 4 intake is on its way I was looking at these a while ago but at around $200 or more it was a little pricey for something that might not work, but, I had it in my watch list, but, I got a message saying it was on special, and I had a code thingie to use, it eventually came in at $120 delivered, so BAM, BUY NOW.....LOL I'll need to have a look when it arrives but I feel it will "look" better than what I currently have, as it comes with a PCV fitting, so I will be able to get rid of the alloy pipe that goes to the throttle body with the PCV fitting  Well, that's what the voices in my head are telling me  Oh, and this happened today Yeap, it was a Trojan, and it was cheap, so I headed back to the hardware store and actually spent a little bit more on a heavy duty,  one that was actually recommended by a plumber mate, a Cyclone one with a fibreglass handle that is actually rated for clay The broken shovel will eventually be "modified" into a short handle shovel
    • When you pulled it off, there is no signs of blown head gasket? Is it possible you have some other issues going on? Possible cracked blocked? Or do you think it's straight up lifting the head? Did you check what the head was torqued to before pulling it down (To see if possibly they're stretching, or starting to break threads out etc)?
    • Seems like a decent result for a modded JZX110. They are bulky in comparison to the 100 and 90 models (which I'd prefer myself) but they are getting very few and far between here in JP these days. Thanks for the detailed review and the import process into the UK. I also have a car which I'm hoping to export from Japan at some stage so it's good to know if someone from the UK was interested in it. By the way the corrosion underneath is par for the course for cars which were located in/near the mountains or along the Japan sea coastline. They get huge amounts of snow every winter and the sodium chloride is used on the roads. Many cars have some kind of rubber like treatment underneath but they tend to limit it to the wheel arches underbody and fuel tank. Suspension arms and sub-frames will have similar corrosion to your JZX110 which is a common sight. See it all the time and car dealers here generally don't even mention it unless asked.
    • If the sound goes away when you clutch in, the 1.5/2 way diffs are just shit, and you are a normal person. The diff is likely "fine" but driving at anything under 30kmh is a violent horrible experience. It would be exaggerated with solid diff bushings and subframe bushings if you have those.
