Im bored which has helped inspire this topic. Im sitting here at work and im wondering what other people that frequent SAU do for fun or to pass the time. You never know who might share your interest (sorry if there is already a tread like this in the ACT section.. i had a look but didnt see anything)

At the moment I am putting my model Chaser together, a couple more coats of paint and some clear coat and she is done

I am into table top wargaming (no not d&d as that is an roll playing game) like warhammer 40k etc. i havent played warhammer for a while but im always up for a game. also battlefleet gothic and inquisitor. anything to do with the warhammer 40k universe really

I also play alot of computer games, at the moment im mainly playing Dawn Of War (Souls Storm on PC) and COD4 (PC). I also have rainbow 6 vegas 1 and 2 (both on PC), grid (ps3), battle field 2 (PC) and numerous others. I sometimes hold LANs at my house so if anyone is interested in lanning let me know and i will let you know about the next one.

Im also watching stargate sg-1 on dvd, im up to season 7

So yea, what do all the rest of you do?

Currentl playing Fallout 3, into warcraft a bit, but not as much as I used to. Have a fair few model cars, but slowly getting rid of them. Might be interested in so,me LAN gaming in the future.

Love computer games but don't have much time to play them anymore. Recent stuff I've been playing is F.E.A.R., Ghost Recon 1 & 2, NFS: Carbon & ProStreet, Company of Heroes, World in Conflict, etc...

I also like taking photos

Usually find myself screwing around with computers, helping friends with theirs & stuff

Mucking around with cars obviously

And I like going to the gym, but spent a bit too much time away recently.

Sheez where to start

When I'm not working for money or working on the car, I'm driving the car or maybe dreaming of buying parts for the car. I spend far too much time on forums. I'm often thinking what would make a good event for Skylines ACT or other groups/friends I am associated with.

Yes I play Fallout 3 currently and other assorted games when time or GF permits

I browse auctions for interesting things, just purchased a coin operated candy machine and a new house today

I spend time with the family, including the pets. They all need time.

I practice martial arts and occasionally get roped into instructing

I cook & clean and do general household stuff, now that really passes the time.

And lastly I occasionally sleep.

LOL what WOW server are you on? I haven't played in over a year but it's a small little community on the Aussie servers!

Hmm I have been studying a lot! I am not going to know what to do with myself next week.... No car and no homework!!

Lucky we just got Silent Hill 5 :) We have quite the selection of gaming consoles here. Big children we are!!

you bunch of gaming nerds :) I like Buzz... that's about it :P

I spend way too much time on the net :P

Love music and am often ripping cd's/sorting out my collection

Go shopping

Go visit family

Walk my dog

Spend a fair bit of time doing SAU club stuff

and the usual dinners, drinks, events with friends

I guess nothing you'd really count as "hobbies" though... maybe I need to find a new one :D

Playing PC games, watching anime, movies or TV series on computer

Go to friends house for lans & to grab more games, animes, movies & TV shows off them & repeat the above again...

& Sleeping takes up 1/2 of my life :P

Yep, another gaming fanatic here, both PC and 360.

Also, have a bad habit of getting hooked into Wikipedia.....it's the devil! Open one article just for a quick read only to find myself 4 hours later blurry eyed wondering where the time went.

I was going to reply..............then replied.......looked at my answer and saw that I don't do anything like what everyone else is doing.........I was way different, so went back and deleted my answer so the game tragics could have it.

So I have to agree with Shell.......yawn

Haha, I used to play a lot of games when I was 16 :( Now I am a music nut, with a dementedly eclectic taste. I play guitar. Looking at getting into recording at home. I read a lot of wiki RE history of the world and how it came to be the current shambles it is. I don't mind a bit of origami either. Like photography but need some ideas for where/what to shoot around here (or... I could just go for a random drive :teehee: ). I'm also into Hifi and listening to music on headphones (Dark Side of the Moon!). Oh, car audio too, except my head unit just died (DOH!). Also love a social game of squash (the most bastardy sport I've found so far, making people run).

What martial arts John? I used to do Judo and should really get back into it. Got to green belt when I was 17.

Shell, do you use last.fm ? my last.fm

    • Hi, is the HKS  Tower Bar still available ? negotiable ? 馃
    • From there, it is really just test and assemble. Plug the adapter cables from the unit into the back of the screen, then the other side to the car harness. Don't forget all the other plugs too! Run the cables behind the unit and screw it back into place (4 screws) and you should now have 3 cables to run from the top screen to the android unit. I ran them along the DS of the other AV units in the gap between their backets and the console, and used some corrugated tubing on the sharp edges of the bracket so the wires were safe. Plug the centre console and lower screen in temporarily and turn the car to ACC, the AV should fire up as normal. Hold the back button for 3 sec and Android should appear on the top screen. You need to set the input to Aux for audio (more on that later). I put the unit under the AC duct in the centre console, with the wifi antenna on top of the AC duct near the shifter, the bluetooth antenna on the AC duct under the centre console The GPS unit on top of the DS to AC duct; they all seem to work OK there are are out of the way. Neat cable routing is a pain. For the drive recorder I mounted it near the rear view mirror and run the cable in the headlining, across the a pillar and then down the inside of the a pillar seal to the DS lower dash. From there it goes across and to one USB input for the unit. The second USB input is attached to the ECUtec OBD dongle and the 3rd goes to the USB bulkhead connected I added in the centre console. This is how the centre console looks "tidied" up Note I didn't install the provided speaker, didn't use the 2.5mm IPod in line or the piggyback loom for the Ipod or change any DIP switches; they seem to only be required if you need to use the Ipod input rather than the AUX input. That's it, install done, I'll follow up with a separate post on how the unit works, but in summary it retains all factory functions and inputs (so I still use my phone to the car for calls), reverse still works like factory etc.
    • Place the new daughterboard in the case and mount it using the 3 small black rivets provided, and reconnect the 3 factory ribbon cables to the new board Then, use the 3 piggyback cables from the daughterboard into the factory board on top (there are stand offs in the case to keep them apart. and remember to reconnect the antenna and rear cover fan wires. 1 screw to hold the motherboard in place. Before closing the case, make a hole in the sticker covering a hole in the case and run the cable for the android unit into the plug there. The video forgot this step, so did I, so will you probably. Then redo the 4 screws on back, 2 each top and bottom, 3 each side and put the 2 brackets back on.....all ready to go and not that tricky really.
    • Onto the android unit. You need to remove the top screen because there is a daughterboard to put inside the case. Each side vent pops out from clips; start at the bottom and carefully remove upwards (use a trim remover tool to avoid breaking anything). Then the lower screen and controls come out, 4 screws, a couple of clips (including 3 flimsy ones at the top) and 3 plugs on the rear. Then the upper screen, 4 screws and a bunch of plugs and she is out. From there, remove the mounting brackets (2 screws each), 4 screws on the rear, 2 screws top and bottom and 3 screws holding in the small plates on each side. When you remove the back cover (tight fit), watch out for the power cable for the fan, I removed it so I could put the back aside. The mainboard is held in by 1 screw in the middle, 1 aerial at the top and 3 ribbon cables. If you've ever done any laptop stuff the ribbon cables are OK to work with, just pop up the retainer and they slide out. If you are not familiar just grab a 12 year old from an iphone factory, they will know how it works The case should now look like this:
    • Switching the console was tricky. First there were 6 screws to remove, and also the little adapter loom and its screws had to come out. Also don't forget to remove the 2 screws holding the central locking receiver. Then there are 4 clips on either side....these were very tight in this case and needed careful persuading with a long flat screw driver....some force required but not enough to break them...this was probably the fiddliest part of the whole job. In my case I needed both the wiring loom and the central locking receiver module to swap across to the new one. That was it for the console, so "assembly is the reverse of disassembly"
