Very nice build up mate. Keep up the good work.

I have the ARC system and it works very well. However with the current exchange it's probably best to get your fabricator to make up a bleed system similar to the ARC whilst the car is at their shop.

Hey,

Yeah sold it a couple of weeks ago.. found out it wasn't a 5 speed either  a bit of a refund is on the way to him..

Hey Coop,

Awesome stuff mate, great work! Can't wait to see it in the flesh, hopefully at a track real soon....

I've been having a few chats with Ryan & I may well be coming up to Townsville in June with the Evo, so hopefully see you then mate!

Cheers Cam

Thanks for the encouragement Cam. Be good to see you up this way to.

Got the intercooler piping made up during the week. Turned out really well i think. Still need to find clamps and 1 more silicon hose. Kinda shit photos cause the sun was so bright but gives an idea. Got it made out of alluminum instead of stainless to match the rest of the GReddy kit and for better heat dispersion.

Just like everyone else does with HICAS, I had ditched it, except for the duel set up on the power steering pump. So i pulled it apart and removed the impeller and fitted a banjo blank. But looking at it while it was apart i think I have developed a better and neater way.

I spent a few hours on the lathe and milling machine today and came up with this. It's the factory set up but with the Hicas pump removed completly. I shortened the internal shaft, Machined new bearing surfaces, milled the rear cover to fit in the mounting, Modified the T piece to a single entry, Installed a new bearing and shorter bolts effectivly halfing the physical size and weight of the unit and it now looks far neater overall.

here's some pics of todays handy work and also 1 of the blow off valve fitted up.

Thanks Guys. I'll let you know if it works. Russ, I wasn't sure about the pump being interchangable with the 33 as I thought the balancers were different. Maybe just the pullies then? More so just an excersize of my own with a bit of spare time at work to see if it could've been done.

There's been a bit of action in the shed of late but work comitments have slowed progress a bit all i have is a couple of the pics of the areo catches installed. Used some of Marlin's pics as a how to and got it done. Thanks Ben.

Also, the rest of the fuel system, airation tank and a couple of defi advance guages showed up so a bit to do over the comming week to install them.

Note. ARC airation tank kits for r32s only fit r32s with standard radiators and standard intercooler piping. Mods required.

Ok time for an update. There's not alot left to do now. I had to take some pics for its CAMS rally car log book so we pushed it out of the shed and gave it a tub. The dry sump is all plumbed up with the exception of a few fittings that needed to be back ordered from SpeedFlow and all that remains is a bit of electrical work for fuel pumps and map sensors, run some fuel lines and give it all a general tidy up and with any luck we should see it on the dyno in the next couple of weeks.

Here's some pics. Let me know what ya reckon.

Nice looking very good! i was thinking of a similar setup for the hicas pump too, but my friend gave me another nissan pump.. which is single stage..

before i jump into it could the second stage be used for say gearbox cooler?? or does it need to be the same type of oil going thru it?

    • Wow ELVIS. You have an....interesting approach to conversation. Did you not notice that I wasn't talking to you?
    • Hello Liam - HA - somewhere in flies - possibly I have an update, but I have been so busy, projects have taken a back seat to getting business back on track.  I will let you know the outcome, but I think I am going to go for the 8HP,  CHEERS.  ELVIS
    • Thanks Joshuaho96, yes - as someone else also suggested, the 8HP seems the 'smart choice' - HA - and ZERO to do with cost, but I am sure 8 speeds will be better than 6 speeds - HA - maybe.  I will purchase a new 8HP,  Thanks.  ELVIS.
    • Nobody said anything about getting a "...cheap Falcon box..."- it was JUST a question about a specific transmission.  And YOU may have a problem with not enough $ - HA - I do NOT - so please keep your comments like you are some financial guru to yourself.  BUT - much appreciated re the cost of a new 8HP and I twill probably be the way I go.  Thanks.  ELVIS.
    • Most people I know in the BMW world are swapping 6HPs for 8HPs. The 6HP has a big issue with one of the clutch drum bushings wearing out shockingly early which leads to them going into limp mode going into 5th/6th gear as the oil pressure loss from the worn bushing causes clutch slip. Even with the adaptations in shifting the TCU can't bump line pressure enough to keep the clutches from slipping and burning. I've personally looked at a 335d with 6HP28 with one owner and ~90k miles on it and the transmission adaptations were way out of spec and even though it nominally drove ok I'm confident it would have needed a full rebuild sooner than later. Other than that they're fine, but the 8HP doesn't really have weird issues like this to my knowledge and they're in everything these days so pulling them out of crashed cars isn't too hard.
