Demisters should be fine. I only needed to pick at the corner to get the tint up enough for me to pick at with my finger and peel off the rest of the way so didnt need the blade to go anywhere near the lines. But yea, I cant believe it was so easy and I was going to pay $110 to have it removed!

so are u keeping it or selling it after getting it off defect???

so if a COP PULLS UP BEHIND U AND RUNS YOUR PLATES THROUGH HIS COMPUTER WILL IT SAY THAT YOUR CAR HAS BEEN "DEFECTED" IN THE PAST???

so are u keeping it or selling it after getting it off defect???

Decided I'd keep it... wanted to sell it because I was annoyed at it and couldnt be stuffed anymore but after calming down I cant let go of it just yet just because some cop doesnt like Skylines. :P

Was given a written warning the other day for my factory MOMO wheel in the MX5 because "apparently i didnt have the ADR certificate with me. next time he said "it will be off to regency with you young man"

Its a factory wheel FFS. on a side not he didn't look twice at the fixed back so i cant really complain

has everyone who has been defected by this twat gone and made a complaint? its benneficial that you do

are you for real

what are you going to say in the complaint um "to the body that be please reprimand Niel for defecting my car because it didn't adhere to ADR's just because i think he doesn't like skylines"

GROW UP people

im sick of hearing about Neil this and Neil that, he is only doing his job and the more you guys bag him the more fuel you add to the already ablaze fire, act like men and cop it on the chin fix whats defectable and MOVE on

i was referring to mechanical mods in the above post ;)

seen plenty of engine bay pics from members in various threads... always chrome bits n pieces with colour coded silicone joiners and painted stuff... what do you expect when a cop lifts the bonnet :P

only seen a couple stealth bays... that is not to say a lot more people aren't doing it tho.

are you that dumb? or just arrogant?

he is not following the correct methods of defecting, whatever happened to police actualy measuring things and testing sound level??? you are more than within your rights to make a complaint if the officer in question isnt following guidelines and you felt you have been unfairly dealt with..... for example "illegal air filter" that is BS, so make a complaint about it, its police harrasment.

so if your done carrying on like a 12 yr old can we get back to the topic?

agree 100%.

complain enough and his chances of promotion / advancement within the force is NIL

Rocky & Vu should be making a formal complaint IMHO

Unfortunately, he is for real Steve.

I've reversed a few mods myself, as I'm not a fan of not having my Stagea. I've been pulled over a few times now in it and I've been lucky. Whilst the mods are only minimal (pod filter, boost gauge), it did come to the attention of Neil. He let me off and gave me a chance to reverse some of those mods, which I have done. Take the hint guys.

The cops are all over Hanson Road, pulling over any car ... not singling out imports. Any car. Drive a blatantly defectable/unsafe car, or hoon around, expect to be noticed.

Old japanese saying: "Nail that stands out in floor, is first to be hit with hammer."

beleive it or not but complaints do actually get dealt with, within the police, so it is worth the 20 minutes of your time to make the formal complaint. its a little bit of paper, no lawyers, no court fee's just a simple a4 bit of paper that carry's alot of weight within the force

The nail that sticks out gets hammered - Tokyo Drift.

It is an actual saying, not a movie quote. Heard it when I lived in japan ... so it must be authentic! :D

I won't take anyone's side here but reading through some of the posts about this Neil fella, I don't recall reading anything that he has done that wouldn't be within the parameters of the law.

At the end of the day, he only needs to suspect that you have a vehicle that doesn't comply with ADR's or emissions and within his power can pull you over. He doesn't have to measure anything either, to send you to Regency.

Based on the little that I've read in regards to his methods (and I know he's become a nemesis to many of you), one complaint alone to his sarg (cause he's only a conny) without any substantiated evidence of ill treatment towards any of you, will end up either in their shredder or bathroom for when they run out of toilet rolls.

A few harsh words from a copper may hurt your feelings but will hardly get him a reprimand, let alone off the force!

30 years ago you would've copped a boot up the ass from him as part of the deal, lol.

If you drive a non compliant vehicle and they eventually catch up with you, smile and cop it on the chin cause it was good while it lasted.

no doubt Rhys, but it may fall on deaf ears unfortunately.

If all of you that have had experiences with him had a similar outcome and feel justified in pursuing it, get together and go and see your local MP first.

By following proper channels you'll have a bigger voice.

    • When you crank your car, and hit it with a timing light, can you see a steady crank timing?
    • Oh, forgot to add, A few months ago I was getting mixture codes and the car was using crap loads of fuel. You could smell the unburned fuel in the exhaust, it was crazy strong. Economy was over 17.5 l/100 and usually around 19. I smoked the engine and found a leaky CCV hose which I replaced and then I replaced my two pre cat O2 sensors, I also replaced the MAF. This fixed my mixture codes and improved my exonomy but I'm still 14 - 15 l/100 when pottering about town so something is still amiss. Throttle response is much better and it has more pep but I'd like to know why it's still so thirsty (and I'm hoping that whatever it is gives me a bit more poke).
    • Car is on factory injectors/z32 maf/ q45 throttle body/ z32 ecu with nistune
    • Hello all, currently finishing up a rb25 swap into my s14. Having issues with starting, car has spark (confirmed by pulling a plug and watching it spark), has fuel(confirmed by checking pulse/voltage at injectors all spark plugs are soaked in fuel). Car cranks over and pops into the exhaust with a heavy fuel smell but no attempt to start or run, I have torn the timing cover off and triple confirmed timing, turned the CAS in multiple spots both directions, attempted to start with coolant temp and maf unplugged, checked my fuel lines and made sure they weren’t backwards, checked voltage at cas/injectors/coilpacks, made sure all the grounds in the harness are connected and added a few grounding straps (1 from chassis to block, 1 from chassis to head, and 1 from chassis to igniter chip) I am getting stumped here. As a last ditch effort I made a full grounding harness tonight that’s going to run from the battery and add an extra ground from the battery onto the coil pack harness/igniter chip/ intake manifold/ Wiring specialties harness ground/ and alternator. I’m hoping maybe the grounding harness will fix it here but posting here to see if anyone has any other ideas on what else I can check. My fuel pressure is unknown right gauge will be here tomorrow.  IMG_3206.mov
    • yeah I was shocked when I checked my spare OEM on and as below that's how they come from Nissan. (side interesting note new NEO gearbox and replacement park lack the brass bush on the tips and its just all alloy) unsure about damage to the box currently back at 1110 to be pulled down/inspected and selector fork replaced as he built it previously and given the never before seen failure on his billet forks he is replacing it under warranty. He said he has used always OEM the keyway tab without issue for years so it could be an unlucky coincidence. I did talk to him about the sharp corners and stress concentration too. Re: hard shifts i got 7+ years out of the OEM one and the fork itself failed not the keyway. so could be bad luck as I said or an age thing + heat cycles in box and during fabrication of billet?
