unless your planning on entering your car into a show (which you very well might be) don't even consider driving around with them on the street.

i'v never understood why you would compromise handling and grip in a sports car for cheap lebo looks.

my mate had 20" vault cyrstals on his R33 gts-t

not only did it look shiit the ride quality was completely fkd.

If anyone noticed alot of cars including the GTR now comes with 20" rims, Several race cars run big 20" on the front to increase handling.

20's will fit get the offset right n work from there.

yes the new GTR comes with 20s. but the gts-t originally came with 16s

i wonder how 24's would go on the new GTR. my guess is not so good.

For looks. The car is so huge that small rims look disproportional.

Several race cars run big 20" on the front to increase handling.

I'm curious to see which race cars do. And I'm not sure how increasing unsprung weight and rotational inertia provides an increase in handling.

Going to big rims has little to do with improving handling, especially not a 4" increase over stock. On a race car you go for the smallest wheels you can fit around your brakes. Sometimes that necessitates putting on bigger rims than stock.

At any rate, the suspension is engineered around the wheel/tyre combo. What's the likelihood that this guy's R32 has its geometry and components engineered around 20's? Or that it will only get driven on smooth surfaces where the loss of sidewall compliance and increase in unsprung weight is not going to more than offset the supposed benefits of reduced sidewall flex?

hey guys i am just wondering if any1 knows whether or not 20" rims will fit a stock r32 gtst (the offsets and width and bolt patten are all proper) or if i will have to raise the car to fit these.

as mentioned in the original post the car is stock.

the cars "geometry" has been set up to handle the stock 16" wheels that were issued from the Nissan factory floor.

so 20s will not do at all for this setup.

Buses come with huge tyres and rims - so by that principle bus wheels should work out OK on the 32 as well.

can you see the rims when your driving?? i cant on my r32 so my guess is no... therefore looks mean nothing, purpose means everything. buy your 20" rims and stick em on your wall, use them for a glass coffee table or tv stand where you can see em.

TO ANSWER THE QUESTION:

Yes they will fit .. you would need a cheese cutter wheel something like 20x8 with an offset to fit .. coilovers would do wonders too ..

      This looks great! Awesome to have the 5 speed with an LSD in this. The Recaro's look like SR2's or SR3's. It's a shame they've been retrimmed as they would have looked sweet in their original colours. I think I'd want my agent to be a little more up front and informative too. I've never imported but I reckon it would make me a little nervous, so the more info the better.

      Thanks for doing that Duncan! Makes you a good person in my books. We don't get kangaroos or wombats here. But we have bats and it's similar. AFAIK it's often the mums with a baby attached that get hit because they drop lower when starting from a tree.       My dream is also to have a proper hoist, but I don't think it will ever happen. My quickjack is probably as close as I'll ever get, it really is very good though.

      Yeah we keep on in the dailies, it is pretty poor how many animals get hit and the driver leaves without checking....have saved a couple of little ones over the years. Bit of a gruesome job though, pouches generally need to be cut open because they are so tight and often the joey doesn't realise mum is gone so they are still locked onto the teat. I checked the modules in front of the DS wheel where an oil cooler should go.... There is the radar unit - that can go for race use) One of the 2 HX water pumps, the silver cylinder. That needs to be kept but might be able to be relocated But the bad news, the big computer mounted vertically in front of the wheel (blocking any potential air exit) is the electric steering computer. That is required until/unless i do a hydraulic steering conversion, and in CAD based modern car design it is not like I can just pop a big unit like that somewhere else (plus the loom would be too short anywhere else too). So, the passenger side is OK to clear out (just use a smaller washer reservoir, potentially elsewhere), but the DS no beuno

      Well, all the best with the new camry It was interesting to hear about the UK process, it is generally a lot more streamlined here with a shipping agent looking after all the import side (noting the exact final price can still be a surprise.....) and I've used a few different brokers on the japan (or US) side, and never had any trouble with any of them....luck of the draw I guess. You mentioned you didn't get the auction sheet (understandable since you bought it from a dealer, not auction), but I always try and get hold of that because they are pretty thorough. I've imported 2x R grade vehicles over the years and both were fine, repairs in Japan are pretty thorough compared to here in Oz.
