do you ever notice car enthusiests all the fords/vintage drivers all wave to each other and admire everyones car all that kinda stuff.

we should do the same!! i own a 96 r33 and some other skyline drivers i see whilst driving just wanna race you and are arrogant,

it really puts the image on us as a typical hoon so to speak!

I think there is some element of what you just spoke about. I have given a nod to a bloke in a skyline once or twice and have received the nod back. Other times I have done it, I have been given the cold shoulder, or have been looked at funny. Obviously, there are going to be some wankers out there, but they're everywhere, and in every culture.

I agree, most other skyline drivers dont even acknowledge your presence, they just look straight ahead like nothing else exists, in the last 18 months i have had my skyline have only had a few people actually a wave a nod or even just look at the car, most people just pretend your not there.

That happens to me all the time too, almost like its not cool to acknowledge your presence.

wow! this is a big suprise to me! as a matter of fact i have been overwhelmed with the friendlyness of fellow skylines owners here in perth, im always exchanging waves etc.

when i drove a holden i noticed other holden owners were arrogant and never gave thumbs up

I think the population of F'wits within the import market is multiplying at a great rate because of the growing accessability to the cars themselves. The import market used to be a little bit of a niche market for the people that could afford them and "true enthusiasts", but has become avialable to the masses more and more with every year coupled with the finaincial boom, until recently. With cars that are cheaper with almost double the performance = It isn't a hard decision.

This has occured since the start of time and will long beyond us :) Someone founds something fantastic. It becomes commercial (usually losing its soul) for the masses. The unique becomes the norm. Then there are always some that will take it to far and ruin it for everyone. GREAT EXAMPLE = Good news week (along with 50 other shows) Simple fantastic on ABC when it is raw. Channel 10 dumbed down for the masses and it tanked.

So every Fwit and their mate can buy a car, bang a pod (open to the engine bay ofcoarse) and hit the streets looking to prove something.

9 times out of 10 I won't acknowledge another skyline driver either because 8 times out of 10 it's someone trying to insight something. There are always going to be a few bad eggs in any demographic and no one is perfect but what really gets my back up is the little bastards that show blatent disregard for others and property. The ones that go on TV with their "It's not dangerous, I just enjoy the buzz of racing on the streets, I'll never stop". With their mates tuanting the police in the background. So if I drive my car on a routine drive, I get followed by a cop the entire distance.

It is more a question of society, you will get types at all ages but unfortunately the performance car industry is full of youth, arogance and money to burn. We live in a generation of abundance with no direction other than self gratification!

I wave all the time, and get quite a few waves back.

But true, I must agree there is the small arrogant minority of import owners that beleive they are kings of the road.

Well spoken Ellie.

There will always be the wankers around... They are not in it cause the appreciate the car they buy it because the know they are fast... But i don't think they are as bad as all the WRX and STI(STUPID Tossers Incorparated) drivers getting around all they want to do is street race and carry on about how there 2008 sti is as fast as a skyline...: Well it would want to be in most cases it is 10 to 15 years newer and it still won't keep up with a GTR around a track...

I hear what your saying i have been wanting to arange a cruise through the mountains for a while but i am worried to many dickheads will turn up doing skids and wanting to race instead of just enjoying the way there car performs in, out, and around corners... Any one or car can drive in a straight line i prefer to enjoy the view, cool air  and excitment of excelerating from coners etc but keeping it legal and not dangering anyone else...

Sorry its a tiny bit of topic but just my two cents... :) Skylines, Skyline GTR 's and the new GTR still rule  ....

Some are for sure but i defintely think alot of enthusiasts for skylines, rexies, silvias etc are great; Most days when i drive i get people comming up to me in carparks, carwashes, maccas, pertrol stations etc and just saying hi/checking out my car/taking photos.

The ones who are wankers are the guys who rely completely on their car for respect; nevermind their personalities are like donkeys or they are as dumb as a hard cock.

I don't generally go out of my way, my other cars get me bailed up for a quick chat almost every time they leave the shed. I actually got bailed up for 40 mins on x-mas day. It's usually a pleasure to talk with other enthusiasts, generally the ones who's uncle, aunt ect used to have one just like it are a pain.

I have copped a few waves in the line and am happy to respond, but I don't initiate...reason being I must seem to either look like I want to hurt them physically or sexually (mostly I don't) because they almost always look like their about to crap themselves or they turn away quickly. It's a generation thing I think, most of the x-box, playstation generation have issues socialising.

Reach out kiddies, give your old uncle Bung a hug :)

i live in the inner west of sydney and unfortunatley most skyline owners are A class f#$k witts thats why i dont acknolage them all you get is dumbshit questions like "does the extra turbo make that much differnce ? ..ill blow u on a rolling start" shit like that if isee another R ill check it out but anything else has to b really clean to turn my head not trying to sound arrogant but its just the way i am

i will only adimire another line from a distance. i wont look your car up and down if i pull up next to you at the lights simply because i dont want to give the driver a big head unless the car is absolutely unique or the new gtr..ha. I dont make an effort to wave unless I've met them at a meet but I would definitly wave back if someone did. In my 8 yrs of owning my car no ones waved at me so meh I dont look for it or expect it. Seeing an SAU sticker breaks the ice usualy. I dont think im a tosser, then again a tosser wouldn't think they were one :) I appreciate any car for its merits be it ford, holden, volvo....maybe im just a minority

I have an issue with the Skyline drivers who wave when i'm driving mine, then as soon as I drive my SS, they just greasy me like I'm some sort of traitor. Same thing happens to my mate.

that's cos your SS is a VN dude. That model never did really grow on me.....ever (no offence intended).

I hate 95% of holdens but i wouldnt give you a greasy i just would not look at all, if its a nice classic holden then i will look.

I drive a 31, give out plenty of waves, usually receive a bunch back.

Strangest thing was the other day.

Holden driver waves at me, I stare confused wondering what to do, do I wave back, or give the cold shoulder. In the end I managed to summon up a half wave half cold shoulder kinda thing.

    • Yeh I think i'll message an old contact i had for ages that manages his own tyre shop now.. n tell him what i want n work with him before ordering..  Got this 17x9 +30 Driftteks on 245/45/17 PSR Drag Radials on the rear.. They fit well - for your reference in future - Rear guards  have been lipped in & minimal to non flaring of the rear Gaurds.
    • If only it were that easy! I also needed to remove seats, shocks, brake calipers, send my car through a fence, and use measuring and ended up guessing because I didn't remove seats, shocks and brake calipers. It can be hard sometimes Can be a little more complex than 'just measure' if you want to truly measure the entire wheel through all of it's suspension travel. But if you aren't going for every last mm then yeah, you can check the space you currently have and guesstimate.
    • If you own a car, and it has wheels on it, and you know the offset of those wheels, and you have a measuring device, you have everything you need to work out if other wheels will fit.
    • Will this fit? but they are staggered set - RAYS 57DR SEMI GLOSS BLACK 18x8.5 +37 | 18x9.5 +38 5-114.3 STAGGERED SET   or If no go could just get a set 4's wheels of 18x8.5 +37 5-114.3 - would i run 8.5's 235s up front n 245's at the back if I do?   Thanks.
    • Put a clamp on your return line. I have a feeling it's sucking air, and introducing bubbles to your fuel. With a lot of fuel, less problematic. I'd honestly be redoing all the lines in the tank and clamps on everything.   Also, you've given two different answers to the same question: Asked if being followed by the police you could get down to use the whole tank, you said yes you could, so long as you keep off boost. However, you then followed this up that free revving, it would also cause the issues. I'm doubting free revving is enough to make any noticeable boost on what is likely a decent sized turbo.   So now I have to ask, can you actually drive it lightly and use all the fuel, or does it break up even free revving? Also, have you put a fuel pressure gauge on it? Can you hear the pump change noise at all when you're having this issue?
