lol me too.

At least the spoontas in the tower wont be saying "pick up the leader" over and over again. They will need to make sure the light bar is well and truley secured though.

Wow!, considering Nissan's history in the Australian Touring Car scene, that is a very significant move. How ironic that the car that effective formed the V8 Taxi circus we see now will be back again leading the pack. Speaking of pack, I wonder if the top-o-the mountain bathurst yobs will hurl empty VB tins and once again act like a "pack of ar$eholes"??

totally agree the V8 circus must feel like a bunch of hypocrites, but must admit will be good to c.

is there a press release or a link to a media site to back this up just a lil coz i'm finding it a bit hard to believe.

don't get me wrong, it would be awesome, yes but atm it's just seems like a rumour on a car forum. am happy to be proved it is true.

chrysler hasn't renewed the contract this year due to the cost

In a move that is certain to bring some irony to the sport, Nissan’s iconic GT-R is coming back to the V8 Supercar series.

Why irony? Well, for those of you old enough to remember, the GT-R simply flogged the home made metal years ago, leading to the infamous “pack of arseholes” quote from Gentleman Jim Richards - not so gentlemanly at the time, though.

This time, however, the GT-R won’t be racing - although a few of us would like to see how competitive it would be.

The GT-R will be the new V8 Supercar Pace Car for the 2009 series. The reason? Well according to Nissan spokesperson Jeff Fisher, GT-R could use the exposure.

Mr Fisher has said, “We’re looking at numerous ways of giving GT-R continued exposure over the life of the vehicle. The V8 Supercar program could be an appealing way to do that.”

Well I can pretty much confirm that the R35 GTR is the new pace car for the supertaxis. Apparently it will end up with yellow flashes down the sides and a supercar logo on the bonnet  I guess thats needed so the supertaxis can spot it when they can't keep up and its on the horizon :) :)

    • Make sure you use the spherical bushes** on the lower arms, ifyou do that. ** at least, if not the whole replacement lower arm.
    • The tap for coolant flow control will be stuck open. It's not just the air door motor that dies.
    • Not really, but the heater box is pretty simple mechanically....if the door is one way the air bypasses the heater core and if it is the other way it goes through it for warm air.  If you are sure the actuator you moved manually is for the heater mix (there would also be one for output air direction) then I'd take the heater box out and see what is happening (you'll have to regass and re-coolant the systems afterwards) BTW pp724 onwards from the GTR workshop manual cover the system in good detail, it is probably worth checking. I think the IAT sensor might be a problem electrically for getting cold (if you got 24 error code not -24 it thinks the incoming air is -50c) and it covers how to test the sensor (although most likely it is either not plugged in or a wire is damaged)
    • Use the GKTech subframe bush and bring your subframe 10mm closer to the chassis. You'll need to fix an exhaust hanger to suit. One of the best mods I've done.
    • You'd really have to pull it apart further to know, it least you can be confident that the one heading to the back is not connected any more. There was once a ground on the shifter seal mount too, your head unit issue could be that simple
