Is the 34 running -5's?

And they are on race fuel aren't they? Last time I was out at Russels they had drums of Sunoco or Martini or something like that

i was fairly sure they were using E85 and -5's. as it kept the response similar to how it was on the R32's engine.

1 min in mark says its running E85

Also other 400rwkw/-5 - Aaron34, pretty certain it was 400rwkw and pegged back to 380 as it was seeing extensive circuit.

tangomatt also, 415rwkw. Pics of -5s :(

how about smallest turbo that is running efficiently for the power application = win?

where do you draw the line at being 'efficient'?

I would say running 20psi on a highflow is past its efficiency but they make for an awesome combination on a street car!

I suppose you draw the line with EGTs, going past a turbos efficiency will increase the EGTs no doubt. But I suppose if thats still in acceptable range then thats still ok. Although I would prefer to drop a few psi and get right in its efficiency zone.

yeah, you can still have fairly acceptable EGTs and be well out of the efficiency zone a lot of the time though which was sort of what I was trying to say.

sure the turbo is putting excess heat into the intake charge but it is still scavenging energy out the exhaust so its still being more efficient mechanically than an NA vehicle, but you are right, it is a nicer option to have temps etc all well under control so you can drive it around on a 35c day without issue.

    • Does it also misfire equally when revving?   Josh is very correct in what you should do. The coilpack harness wiring loom itself is a known problem due to its age and the number of heat cycles it has gone through. Throwing parts at a vehicle to diagnose the issue isn't a smart or good way to do it. Secondly, you may have a bad coil pack, you pop replacements in, they fix that issue, but messing with the harness breaks it, so the issue persists. So now you think "well it wasn't the coil packs" and have to continue chasing your tail, potentially swapping back in your shit coil packs and returning the good ones (yes, I've seen people do this because 'it wasn't the problem' and they want to save money). And suddenly, you've got two issues with the same symptoms...   Diagnose, don't use the spare parts shotgun.
