cant be intake restrictions, 4" intake with K&N pod, 3" custom IC piping....motor was running standard turbo before and was pretty stock..

The car feels good, it has brand new 255 federals on the back and it breaks traction when it hits boost in second, used to do it in 3rd with the old tyres..

Heaps weird...

What ecu? No changes with fueling and timing makes you wonder if the changes are being written to the ecu.

Nistune was playing up like this on the Stagea last year with this sort of issue.

power fc... the changes were definitely writing because the wideband was registering the changes and the timing eventually caused the knock levels to increase slightly as well...

Hypergear turbos love restrictions

I feel your pain though. Car has been sitting in the shed for a couple of months now, thinking about what it's done :glare:

Has it learnt its lesson yet?

Apparently not, it hasn't fixed itself yet. Now it's throwing a tantrum with the drivers seat, so it's in the naughty corner until I get back from Europe.

we both had no idea.... the car wasnt responding to anything... threw more timing= same power, richer=same power, leaner=same power wtf?

That means turbo's pushing some thing's limit which power band does not responds to the tune. I think its in the exhaust or some where, try drop it and see if any thing changes. Was it a plumb back external gate?

Normally cooler restrictions would drop heaps of boost, and the cooler would be burning hot on the cool side. So its not the case.

Also if you are in Sydney might be worth while visiting Toshi for a quick check up.

Why is the engine speed increasing then going back to zero? But speed increases gradually

I could be way off here but that torque looks quite high compared to power so maybe its getting wrong speed signal?

Rpm increases,decreases,increases then falls off

yeah the dyno guy said that for some reason some nissans do that weird shit with the rpm... he said it wouldnt affect anything but.

The power graph really supprised me because it feels nothing like that...it actually has nothing for ages then all of a sudden kicks in massively and frys tyres but that graph makes it look very linear.... very strange

Just got off trents dyno

265rwkw with coil packs missing all over the place

19.7 psi down to 15.7 psi drop

Trent thinks it will hit close to 300rwkw once we sort out coilpacks and boost drop

Internal gate, note sure about the extended arm? Im guessing so.

Retune booked it for next Thursday.

Have purchased yellow jackets and will put in new spark plugs for the tune.

Trent made a suggestion that the boost drop maybe due to the stock BOV on the GTT not up to task? But were not 100% yet until I do the coilpacks and go back in for a retune.

Anyone know what the power limit on the stock BOV is before you need to be concerned?

He said to get a GTR one if it is the case.

Technical parameters: - Axle: front. - Disc type: ventilated. - Number of holes: 5. - Disc diameter: 310mm. - Total height with center: 54mm. - Thickness (new/min.): 30/28mm. - Designed for brake calipers manufacturer: Sumitomo.
    • You Gregged a whole racetrack!?
    • Look for broken wire or bad connector at the motor. Might not be it, but is worth starting there, as it is easy.
    • Hi everyone, I’m having an issue with my R32 GT-R. Sometimes, when the car goes over a bump or experiences some vibration, the 4WD warning light comes on the dashboard. When I check the code from the control unit in the trunk, it shows Code 19 – ETS Motor. However, everything seems to be working fine — if I turn off the engine and restart the car, the light goes away and everything functions normally. Has anyone experienced this before? Where should I start troubleshooting this issue? Thanks in advance!
    • I'm back from the dyno - again! I went looking for someone who knew LS's and had a roller dyno, to see how it shaped up compared to everything else and confirm the powerband really is peaking where Mr Mamo says it should. TLDR: The dyno result I got this time definitely had the shape of how it feels on the road and finally 'makes sense'. Also we had a bit more time to play with timing on the dyno, it turns out the common practice in LS is to lower the timing around peak torque and restore it to max after. So given a car was on the dyno and mostly dialled in already, it was time for tweaking. Luis at APS is definitely knowledgable when it came to this and had overlays ready to go and was happy to share. If you map out your cylinder airmass you start seeing graphs that look a LOT like the engine's torque curve. The good thing also is if you map out your timing curve when you're avoiding knock... this curve very much looks like the inverse of the airmass curve. The result? Well it's another 10.7kw/14hp kw from where I drove it in at. Pretty much everywhere, too. As to how much this car actually makes in Hub Dyno numbers, American Dyno numbers, or Mainline dyno numbers, I say I don't know and it's gone up ~25kw since I started tinkering lol. It IS interesting how the shorter ratio gears I have aren't scaled right on this dyno - 6840RPM is 199KMH, not 175KMH. I have also seen other printouts here with cars with less mods at much higher "kmh" for their RPM due Commodores having 3.45's or longer (!) rear diff ratios maxing out 4th gear which is the 1:1 gear on the T56. Does this matter? No, not really. The real answer is go to the strip and see what it traps, but: I guess I should have gone last Sunday...
