That above is a ATR43SSG4 core, so similar what it originally was.

The VNT system do work and I've been using them a while now for anti lag. This specific method has the potential to knock off about 500RPMs of lag without trading off power. How ever has to be very specific to the amount of back pressure the turbine housing is receiving. Little like setting up Ign timing which at specific point they will allow the engine to output its highest torque while otherwise results the opposite. Some thing worked so well on the RB25det worked horribly on the Kia's High comp G4GC motor. So getting this to work on the Rb30det it will require a new round of research and development.

Posting an result. This is from a SS2 Based High flow that we did for a Auto M35 stagea not too long ago. It made 275rwkws on 20psi with Pump 98 fuel.

Note: The WOT was engaged in a slow manner on run below, for the reliability of factory Auto.

That pic raises another question Tao , is the compressor housing on your turbo a 0.70 AR T04B one ? The larger ratio B housing is one we don't see too often though I don't know why . It would have a bit more flow capacity than the 0.60AR B housing while being more compact than the T04E or T04S ones .

0.70AR B housings have larger 2.5" (63mm) outlets like 0.70 AR S ones .

A .

And any one into Nissan patrol 4.2L Diesels ? High flowed stock turbo made 121awkws on 15psi maxing out stock fuel pump. Stock turbocharger maxed at 81awkws.

My SLSS2 turned up today

Looks good sitting next to my old highflow paperweight :)attachicon.gifImageUploadedBySAU Community1399964974.687270.jpg

WTF happened to that compressor wheel? What highflow was that?

It is a Kinugawa highflow. The oil feed line let go while coming onto the highway in second at high revs.

Hoookay

Some initial feedback on the TD06SL220.5G

My car is hardly sorted atm

but is as follows

Dead Standard 1JZ-GTE and Auto

ETM 6 into 1 merge collector manifold

Hypergear 50mm External gate

3" dump pipe into a 2 1/4" mid pipe into a 2 1/4" twin system (yuck!)

factory ECU

So initial drive

Builds boost at around the same RPM as the standard turbos...but feels like it needs a little more throttle to do so

Once it sees around 0.2bar and 3000ish rpm it comes on like a light switch even at under half throttle (no WOT runs re: standard ECU) running the 0.8Bar gate pressure

This combo is going to have a monster mid range once I finish the new exhaust (3.5" with a Hooker super comp aero chamber muffler) and fit the ECU and fuel system

but I feel it is not going to be linear, feels like it will always be a light switch turbo, but comes on early enough to not be a huge worry, however I will report back once its tuned and I drive it in the wet.

    • Hey Murray, hope all is good. I took your advice and put the filler first then the putty. Seems like a much better result but i noticed there are still pinholes. I even had pin holes when i initially put the putty on the body filler. Do you think it has something to do with my spreader being f*cked? I attached some images. This is the intially body filler i sanded. No putty yet  Applying putty. Final result after using wax and grease remover can see the pin holes. I just noticed as i look at the putty application it looks wavy not sure if it's supposed to be like that or because of the spreader.
    • Hey all just wanting some advice. I’ve just compression tested my RB25det and these are the following results  Cyl 1 - 135psi Cyl 2 - 135psi Cyl 3 - 120psi Cyl 4 - 140psi Cyl 5 - 130psi Cyl 6 - 125psi   do these numbers seem ok.  Thanks in advance
    • I must say - this is how I picture all R31s!
    • Rust repairs completed, doors back on! pretty much totally back together running now. All future repairs will be fiddly wiring getting everything back up to road condition.  hasn’t  taken that long considering the condition I got the sub. note my helpers keeping the back seat warm 😂
