Help i have pretty standard r32 gtst, it was auto and changed it to auto, and put a blitz pod filter on, otherwise standard.

THE PROBLEM:

it stalls when slowing down or stoping like at traffic lights or somtimes just gets a really low idile and you have to rev it to get it right again. and when you put your foot down you can feel kind of like hesistation slightly jerky when acclerating, but if accelerate slowly its ok.

WHAT I HAVE TRIED:

i had a bad coil so i got some new ones and they tips all look ok now. stil have 5 spares

got 6x new iridium spark plugs

Ran injector cleaner though it and a full tank of 98 gas

took the afm out and cleaned it with electrical contact cleaner.

im running out of ideas?

any other sensors, or boost leaks or somthing??

please give me some ideas

thanks!!!

sorry i mean i changed from auto to MANUAL, why werent plugs a good idea?

i did a ful service on it because i brought the car off an old guy that had owned it for the last 11 years, did cambelt, oil+filter, plugs, fuel filter, saw one of the coils was prety stuffed so changed it. i got the coils on a dollar reserve auction and scored the whole set for 2 buks. so they are 2nd hand but good but rest of mine look fine

I will check Vac line/hose is split today

does your fuel pump cut out? if it does, do the earthing mod, mine used to do it, then i earthed it out permanently (so it runs all the time) and never had the problem again. Skylines have a circuit that reduces voltage to the fuel pump to decrease fuel pump noise at low speed/idle and being the age of the vehicles this system fails, so just as easy to earth the pump so it runs all the time.

I am sure if you search it you will find an article.

Cheers

cleaned the aac valve it was prety dirty and i thought it worked but then it started doing it. i have just screwed it back anti clockwise and got a higher idle now so il see how that goes. il also try resetting ecu and doing fuel pump mod. hopfully somthing works!!

my gts-t is exactly the same mate!

i managed to fix the rough idle problem, but i still get a jerk under hard acceleration, or my car just feels like it loses power about low-mid boost.

would love to sort it out but i'm running out of ideas!

    • Yeahhhh, the costs have killed me. Spent more than the cost of an engine rebuild and it most mostly servicing and a tune lol.
    • I'm not 100% how the BMW racers do it, but I know from other brands like Merc, moving, and changing the coolers is one of the things. Like getting a transcooler out from infront of the radiator to out near a wheel arch. So some of the stuff you've got crammed in the middle front, spread it out and open up where you can in the bar to get more air in to the sides.
    • Small update for the day... Turns out the intercooler and engine coolant hose kits are anything but complete....I probably should have counted better but it only really covers about half the coolant hoses in the car, it really just covers the visible stuff and pretends everything else doesn't exist (turbo water feed and returns and also heat exchanger lines through the 2 pumps and cooler) .In any case, I'm happier to have half reliable hoses than none, but a bit of a disappointment. Anyway...finger click (and 5 hours).....hoses in place, lots of spring clamps replaced with screw clamps, and engine coolant is on the pressure tester for the night.   Incidentally, upsized header tank is an Inifiniti factory option....not sure I'll ever do prod car racing in this but at least it is legal.
    • Just weld it onto the hot pipe. If you want it right after the turbo, put it right after the turbo. Or rip the comp cover off and drill and tap a hole into it.
