dont know details on it but also heard the same..

couldnt imagine them being all too leniant over easter.

my mate was given a canary just driving home for his car being too low, he was given 5 minutes to get home and was not given the usual 7 days to fix the car before it cant be driven any more. he got it just before midnight on easter sunday and as of the monday he was unable to drive his car until the defect notice was cleared, not to mention a $187 fine aswell.

it seems to be all to easy to be defected these days. even if there is nothing to defect they will give you one and still put you through the hassles of having to go out of your time to clear it.

thats fkd

yeh hes not happy man.. its the 2nd canary this month for his car being too low, and both times he was defected they didnt even measure it with their tool they just assumed by eye.. its a bit of B.S when they fine you for a defect on your vehicle that passes..

Was it actually too low, honestly?

If so - then I honestly don't see why the problem is. Busted twice in a month, so clearly circumventing the RWC and changing it back to illegal height.

That's probably why the officer defected it again, and made such a tight time restriction.

If not - then you can dispute it in court, and you will win.

So if it was legal, it did pass (without being fiddled with)... the big question comes out - WHY? Why didn't he take the first defect to court? Not going to court basically means something is up :)

But if its too low, then that's your mates own problem really, can't call it fked, harsh, or otherwise

Heard a rumor that last nite cops last nite blocked off the Caltex on Sharpes Rd and bashed some hoon.

Anybody on here know what happened?

.....................more drivel..............

It was probably the same cops that hit and killed a young girl mid last week while attempting to pursue a VL after drag racing.

None of this stuff hits the news...I wonder why...

Come on be fair guys, you cannot blame the Police for that tragity. It's the dickhead in the VL who deserves a beating.

Court is just a waste of time & money, its just his word against the coppas. The cop can just argue it was illegal then it was made legal for the test both times.

No its not

No its not

And not neccesarily

Do you know how the court system works? Because clearly it sounds like you do not.

Ive taken defects to court, and won, on more than one occasion. Im all for it, and i'll do it again if it happens.

If people started standing up to the illegitimate defecting, it would occur FAR less often OVERALL. Police would think twice before defecting something because people just 'accept' it.

It wastes Police time/money far more than your own (because if you win, your costs will be covered by what your lawyer submits). And im all for that too. They want to waste our time with rubbish EPA's, defects etc, then they can have a bit back in my book because if they wont police REAL crime - they can have thier time eaten up when they could otherwise be revenue raising

Fair point.

I think there is something seriously wrong with our society where we not only 'accept' the illegitimate fine/EPA/defect, but also sub-conciously 'accept' the fact that fighting these things in court is becoming main stream in order for justice to prevail.

:D

....and the time when they pull this dude over in twice in a day somewhere in Knox. He got pissed off, got hold of the gun from the officer, shot the copper and shot himself. Lucky for Pettie it wasn't him.

Ye i know its a sad day when it gets to that level, and the fact that the cops can get away with it.

But as usual, its the minority that have ruined it for the majority over the past 5-8 years. Same as mothers groups are screwing this country's law/policy making

- 120dB exhausts

- 40mm off the ground

- Racing each other all day night

- 20 inch wheels on cars that come factory with 15's etc etc

That are ruining it for everyone else by drawing deliberate attention.

I'll be the first to admit i was one of them (120db exhaust lol), ive since reformed my ways and im at least right on the line of legal as opposed to before.

Another thing to think about (you'll like this one)

I've had a firm belief that if an officer hands out a defect wrongfully, is challenged and its revoked, that the officer should be repremanded/punished/impacted for it.

Be that

- Extra desk duty for a week

- $200 out of his pay

- Compulsory booze bus duty

Or something that actually makes the cops wakeup and go "hey f**k, i just cant go around handing out a illegitimate defect because i can get away with it"

And again, same as earlier - its a minority of cops ruining it for the majority as a whole. Hence the above system would weed out those fkbags in the TMU that think they can get away with it all the time.

Like that will ever happen though… And as such we must go to the courts to prove innocence because of the officers abusing the system.

Ive got no issue with cops at all, they do as good of a job as they can in a society where its heading down the way of the seppo's (US).

It's just the usual guys that assume rather than have fact, and then bank on people just blindly paying/accepting/knowing better

    • So.... the K&N air box thingo was too big, ended up gifting it to a mate, well, by gifting it he actually supplied food and beer at the pub,  which was nice, as it will not sit on a shelf in the garage for the next 10 years I did trim up some of the existing stuff to neaten it all up and gave it some wrinkle paint, unfortunately it currently has a used and abused mish mash of different types of hose clamps, 4 big fat T bolt type (shit), and a few normal clamps of vairing sizes and brands, but..... only until the 6 constant tension black worm clamps that I ordered from EFI solutions turn up next week Currently the current hose clamps are triggering me hard, LOL Is this the final version, probably not, I really want just 2 silicone pieces, a straight bit of silicone from the filter to the MAF is easy and will happen as soon as I head into Just Jap tomorrow, the problematic part is a 30° silicone bend from the MAF to the TB that I can connect the engine breather from the head, I found that there are bulk head fittings for boat bilge pumps that should work, but until I can get a 30° silicone bend the alloy pipe, and the 11ty thousand hose clamps, are there for the foreseeable future 4 hose clamps are golden, 6 are grudgingly acceptable, the 8 currently holding it all together is just taking the piss    I've also ordered 60 more retaining wall blocks for the front yard, I mis-gonculated the height that was required to get above the base of the Photinia's (red robin's) that are the hedge behind the front fence, currently it is 2 blocks high, and about 1/2 a block short, so going 3 blocks high will be above the base of the red robin's, and allow some room for mulch
