Throttle controllers only change the resistance curve of the pedal, it makes the curve more or less sensitive to pedal input. The ECU wont let the throttle open beyond 26% on my car at takeoff, until 30kph or there abouts. That is what I need removed, I don't really care if the plate doesn't go to 100% at wot as it still flows plenty. The other option is to disable limp mode somehow to allow a cable throttle and TPS but that would probably be harder to program.

Ahhh.. see I was concentrating on the WOT 80% instead of the low down restriction. This will be much easier to test & now that my wideband sensor has arrived I will get back into it soon.

This is an interesting thread and I hope something worthwhile eventuates with the ECU reflash.

I don't think the Z33 has the throttle issue we experience. Gzone are willing to remove it as part of their remap so it is possible, but probably not easy as other remaps don't cater for it.

They do...

http://www.abbeymoto...ash/index3.html

That's why I was all excited about the possiblity of UPREV doing a remap for us. But alas, they can't...

Z33 Z34 etc same electric throttle.

Please tell me is Z33 Z34 etc fixed throttle problem by reflash (remap)?

If it is able to fix by remap I think I can fix.

But Z33 34 etc can not fix throttle problem by remap also M35 can not fix.

Yes, Z33/34 can fix their throttle limit issue with a ECU reflash as stated in the link above...

What I mean is they dont have the initial 26% throttle at takeoff which is the only part that ever annoyed me. I can notice the extra throttle in second though, it seems to have more acceleration than first.

It would be great if we could dial the amount of throttle in for each gear, we could tune it for maximum grip on launch then. :)

I take it Nissan placed that throttle restriction in for engine safety purposes?

Because right now when I floor it in 1/2nd gear the ECU can't stop the engine from redlining and as a result it'll bounce around the rev limiter throwing me around the car...

can get around it by shifting at 5k rpm...

so if there's no throttle restriction...does it mean it'll reach redline even faster???

yes redline will come quicker......maybe instant if you have enough wheel spin at the launch....best bet is start in stall and launch in second gear!

theres a throttle restriction for the safety of the passenger, and not spinning all fours into a tree.

Theres an easy fix, just get Cihan to raise the limit to 7500, it wont bounce off the limiter then. :)

Toshi, if you're getting the ECUs remapped by TEPS, is it possible to get other items that TEPS have made for NM35s? Can you get a list of parts available from TEPS for NM35s? There are plenty of threads on here about their stuff, and I'd be very interested in a few items...

There is not a lot advertised for our cars on the TEPS site.

You'll have to contact them and request the part (preferably with a picture of what they have done in the past).

I went through Jesse to get a couple of TEPS items last year, but I had no response when asking about their VQ25det 3.6L stroker...

Also, don't bother asking about their suction pipe.

I got it listed on RHDJapan some time ago, then they turned around and stated that they only will do VQ35de suction pipe... didn't they Craig!

Oh, and from what I have read, I don't believe that TEPS remove the throttle restriction with their remap.

I think I'm able to rev it through to 7500, it doesnt bounce but if I didnt have throttle restriction it might :pirate:

I talked to G-ZONE (Mr Amino) and he said throttle controller and remap throttle map is same performance.

No much different.

He said just std M35 map problem at Under 3000rpm.

So throttle map is not help under 3000rpm problem.

Stuff it, im going cable throttle. If they cant be bothered remapping the throttle restriction its useless to me.

Can you ask him if 26% throttle at takeoff is acceptable to him? Its bloody dangerous once you go to a highflow although I guess its fine with the stock turbo most of his customers run.

I get 30% with the Impul. May have to put the stock ECU back on and see what performance I get.

Iain, Can you tell us what throttle % you get with the Nismo?

Cheers

Andy

Did you reset TAS?

TEPS M35 is nothing problem.

This car made by TEPS will start wheel spin when accelerator is pushed all way down only if car start from stopped position.

TAS?

I have a greddy infometer that tells me what the throttle plate is doing. All the M35's take off like ass once you highflow them due to this issue, I also cant stall the auto at launch it just bogs down.

Most of the high power Teps cars are 3.5 too arent they?

On top of that I think you might find the VQ35 does not have a throttle restriction.

Ecu need learning throttle close position and (TAS) throttle adjust screw if ecu connector or throttle position connector is removed, after adjusting timing , adjusting idle, when battery becomes flat or after changing batteries ,Z33 34 M35 etc

I think some people need this one.

    • I thought I'd do a write up on an auto transmission fluid change for a the nissan 7 speed Automatic. At some stage the genius engineers decided that the fluid in the trans was "for the life of the transmission", (which seems kind of self supporting to me) and removed the dip stick and fill tube (funnily enough there is still a casting for it). Anyway, for this job you do need 2 specialist tools in addition to regular hand tools, jack and good chassis stands. You need a way to pump fluid up to the transmission; I got one of these but there are plenty of other options: https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/364584087070 Don't trust the generic listing though, it does not come with the required adapter for the Nissan 7 Speed. You need one of these, can't do the job without it: https://navarapart.com.au/product/genuine-nissan-patrol-y62-d23-np300-navara-re7-dipstick-fill-connector1 You need a heap of compatible transmission oil. Could be Nissan, could be anything else rated for Nissan Matic S. You need at least 10 litres, I had 15 to give it a better flush... Also, you need some biiig oil catch trays, at least one of these, or bigger if possible (volume was fine, size was very marginal): https://autobarn.com.au/ab/Autobarn-Category/Tools-%26-Garage/Specialty-Tools/Oil-Service/Garage-Tough-Oil-Drain-Pan-Black-16L---GT1068/p/TO03191 Finally, a measuring jug is very useful if your pump does not have volumes marked on it, I got a 6l one: https://www.repco.com.au/oils-fluids/fluid-accessories/measuring-jugs/penrite-measuring-jug-6l-pmj006/p/A5322648 Oh, and gloves.....this stuff is horrible (not as bad as diff oil, but getting there) ....First, jack up your car.....
    • So I mentioned the apprentice, @LachyK helped take the bonnet off. We just undid the nuts on the hinges and unclipped the gas struts, then pulled the bonnet back a little as the front was catching on the front bar.  I had a good look at everything today and have removed the rams, repaired/reset the hinges and bolted it back together like it never happened. I'll do a separate write up on the repair, and I also removed the poppers from the Fuga today too to save grief down the road.....as said above it is at least $5k to repair retail. I'm also happier about my ability to prepare a race car, and less happy about Nis-nault's engineering (I can hear @GTSBoy sAfrican Americaning) because the top hose of the radiator didn't slip off.......it snapped clean off. By practice I put the hose clamp hard up against the flare on a neck to make it least likely to ever move (thanks @Neil!). I guess that puts a little more pressure on the end of the pipe as it is further away from the rad, but still, that is pretty shit. I've put it back on for now as there was a fair bit of neck still there, but obviously there is no lip on the neck any more so I don't think I'll track it again until I have a new rad. Speaking of which....more research required. It looks like Koyo makes a standard size radiator in ally which I'll grab in the meantime, but I really want something thicker so might have to go custom in the medium term (ouch) Coolant still needs a refill and I have the pressure tester on it over night, but other than a wash down of the engine bay it seems alright. And @MBS206 noted something noisy on the front of the engine and I think I agree....time for a new accessory belt and tensioners I think.
    • our good friends at nismo make a diff for it, I have one (and a spare housing to put the centre in) on the way. https://www.nismo.co.jp/products/web_catalogue/lsd/mechanical_lsd_v37.html AMS also make a helical one, but I prefer mechanical for track use in 2wd (I do run a quaife in the front, but not rear of the R32)
