Good work Tim, and still on streets too...

"Tim Williamson 1:25.8265"

Great work to every one... some fast times going on in there

What a great day for it, the weather was perfect.

I PB'd by 0.7 seconds for a 1.20.5 - It doesn't sound like much but I had to work for it.

Car was strong all day, and was also trying some DZ03 Dunlops - and I must say I really like them. Mid corner grip is excellent.

Was looking to crack a 1.19 as that just seems to be the thing to do at the moment but no joy - evey session was a mid 1.20.

Looking at some data from today it is just hanging on to the throttle that bit longer in some areas and I think I can crack it.

Here is some data from today

Wow. Not much news after a sandown? Wish I could have run. I didn't even make it down for a look.

Well done Tim. A 25 is an awesome time with your car. You must have the cahoona's to go over the back kink with speed now!

I stopped breathing for a moment when the E46 M3 went a bit wobbly around the last corner on to the main straight :S

haha yes saw that, it came pretty close to ending in tears!

I was happy with my 1.23.3, first time out since doing heap of work to the car, was just using the day as a bit of a shakedown.

Split the hose that runs from the turbos to the intercooler so the car was down on boost by more than 10psi for a couple of sessions then we attempted to fix it and only got one good timed session in where it went 1.23, each lap in that session the car was going quicker and the hose blew off with only a couple of corners to go on the 4th lap, felt like it would have done a high 1.22 for sure.

Oh well, at least everything else held together and will try make it out to Winton

what a great day, thanks to all the organisers and officials!!

finally had a good day at Sandown, went there hoping to crack the 1'25s and walked away with a 1'22.5 so I'm over the moon!

BBGTR, what's the data logger and software you're using there, that readout is great!!!

Hi, the logger and software is one of these: http://www.mmsport.com.au/productview.php?...mp;ppid=Logging

Great times yesterday by the way - 1.22's are really motoring.

jusus Sam, where'd you pull that last half a second?!!!

i really shouldnt have left when i did... would have been good to see you clock it.

awesome work! just wait till i get my semi's, then its gonna be ON!!! :P

I stopped breathing for a moment when the E46 M3 went a bit wobbly around the last corner on to the main straight :S

that was a classic.

the 330ci did the same thing right in front of me, turn one.

i was happy with my high 1.31, cut two seconds off my previous time.

saw rmode's r35 out the back while on a cool down as well.

Driver training was great, could have definitely done more sessions, there was too much waiting time in between sessions.

Sessions were great excluding the last one, where the small Alfa passed me on the chicane, I saw he was stuck on the track later, not sure what happened.

Oh, and during my last lap my kick panel fell out and my ECU ended up on the floor... :)

Well done Andrew on the FTD, not far now from getting a teen...

Good to see Ben (thebuzz) having a crack, 1:23's an outstanding result for your first time there, must have been the DT we did a year (or 2) ago. ;)

Flying fridge, 1:22 is very quick aswell, have you been to many track days? Trying to remember if I'v seen your car out on track days...

And a HUUUUGE congrats to Tim in the little 32 GTS-T, 1:25 on street tyres puts quite a few other RWD cars to shame, obviously no FEAR in keeping the thing fully tapped....

Oh how I miss going to the track... :)

Massive thanks to everyone who pitched in to make the day happen,

I had a fantastic day with family and friends coming down for a watch through out the day . Was great to have my older brother come and watch for the 1st time ever and was even better to get the chance to put him in the car .

Times wise Im rapped by getting into the 25s gives me confindence to know that spending some money on it is going to be worth it.

Thanks to everyone for the congrats , muchly appreciated.

Sorry to see russell break his gearbox less than half way through the day, bad luck mate we'll get it sorted

Congrats to Shmicko on a all new overall PB at sandown of 1.27.4 was great to see his times dropping as well

im very keen to catch the briss mans time now ................ very keen :)

cheers

    • What 1.5 way? There's no such thing really as a 1.5 way, just different ways of explaining 2 ways with different ramp rates. HOWEVER. In any driving in a straight line your 1.5 or 2 or 1.7 way should have no clunking at all. With the clutch fully depressed the diff should be silent (unless it's welded but I'm assuming it's not). Something aint right here.
    • Clutch is a spec brand, new clutch system,( PP, flywheel, friction disc, etc. pull type) installed 100 miles ago, with no problems.
    • looking for some help and maybe some insight on others experience with a new LSD. R34 GT ran and drove beautifully, but always alot of grip loss due to the open R200 rear end, so I just installed a new 1.5 LSD way into the stock open R200 for a ER34. Simple. Everything seemed right. I test drove for the first time this weekend. as I started to back out the garage the first time slowly with tires straight it sounded and felt like I had a loose or half disconnected drive shaft...that was clucking around loose and shaking entire vehicle, and making it feel like the trans clutch was spontaneously slipping then grabbing very roughly while just letting out pedal slowly. I backed it out went to pull forward with the same noise, shake and slip grab feeling with hesitation, I turned the tires to back out more and then pulled ahead some same thing but worst because of added wheel resistance (which that I expected) puzzled … pulling it back in checking everything over and finding nothing wrong, I tried it the next day. same thing, couldn’t believe how it shook everything again making a terrible noise and making it feel like the trans clutch was slipping and grabbing, but I got it out of garage into the driveway, got it straight, drove forward and then reveres a few times in a straight line everything shaking , causing what felt like clutch slip and grab every time, sounded like right behind front driver tire and I could feel it in the floor board with my feet,... worst right when beginning to let clutch pedal out to engage slightly, shuttering and sounding terrible along the way…I managed to slowly get down the road, babying it the whole way, once I was rolling (out of 1st) seemed to be better and between shifts, then clutch felt closer to normal…not slip/ grab etc., but back down to any stop, straight road or turning, same thing. Made no difference if all tires were straight or if I was turning. All other gauge read out correct. with in 2 miles as planned I reached the empty parking lot and performed the break in procedure that came with lsd, essentially to drive in a figure 8 a bunch.  Did this, binding chattering, and shaking the car the whole way. I drove it back home seemed somewhat normal once I was in straight line and past 10 mph or so, and I know it will “bind” on corners and cause some tires squeal when turning especially from a stop, but when I begin to move it still causes what feels like the trans clutch to slip and jerk badly as well as shaking the entire car, and sounds terrible, that I didn’t expect. I used the fluid they supplied with LSD kit and did the breaking, planning to change fluid as they suggest after breaking, but wondering will it get smoother or less aggressive with use? maybe a 1.5 is just too aggressive for normal road driving?   I have a LSD that I put in my 71 cuda when I restored it, with amazing smooth , quite yet effective results. Different style LSD but that ones a joy to drive. maybe expecting too much from this R200?
