Lol while this thread is up in the new stuff i am not so proud to announce the Tow Car has been EPA'd......... Lol WTF! Its a turbo Diesel!

Apparently excessive noise so its booked in for a test!

lucky you're not in QLD! Excesive noise is one of the offences covered by our new anti hoon legislation. Your car can be taken for 90 days for a first offence and confiscated and either sold or crushed if a second hooning offence is committed within a five-year period. Second offence doesn't have to be the same car either. How good is that?

I was thinking about moving to QLD, now I don't really want to :( Fark those are some steep penalties

Jimmy, call CIL they do more caravans and motor homes but also car trailers. I had a quote off them 2 years back and were cheaper than Shannon's, they are a sister company to Shannon's too.

In other news...forgot to post...Santa Fe went on a tow truck and back to dealer. Fuel pump died!

All good and a warranty job. Great service and no issues.

Also managed 7.9l per 100 on the weekend

Towing this weekend to smp. Thank f**k not to Wakefield! Getting over that long drive!

Looking at getting a VY SS ute. Surely someone here has towed with one of these before, looking for info on how well they tow. Wouldn't be doing heaps of towing with it, taking my R32 to drift events 3-4 hours away. Any idea on a rough fuel economy would be great also, cheers.

Oh the one I am looking at is the 6 speed manual not the auto.

well i use a bf xr6 turbo 6 spd auto ute to tow now, tows much better than my old fg xr6 sedan used to, much more stable plus much more room for tools, lunch, fuels, etc would go a ute anyday!

    • I know people cry at the price of the Getrag 12-14k for a conversion now, but it really is a nice mid point. Not going to get change from 10k on a gearset installed.  $30k++ for sequential.   I know you run the risk of a damaged used one and parts are hard to get but as a street car gearbox its really hard to beat. If you enjoy a more traditional manual, its the choice no question.
