hey guys} i have just went to see how fast my car is down a back street.

i have a r33 gtst s1. it is near stock except for turbo-back exhaust, bigger pod, heavy duty clutch and boost on 10psi. when i got the car about 3 months ago it seem heaps fast, now after a little hard driving it seems heaps slower.

the best 0-100km time i could get was about 7.27. accourding to other people they say they can get 6.2 etc.

does anyone know what is wrong or is this normal time. what can i do to fix it? help! :D

YOUR DOING IT DOWN A BACKSTREET... thats whats wrong... and ur mates little stopwatch isn't cutting it according to ur liking...

Go to a drag strip ya tight arse...

*EDIT* I appologise, ur a new member obviously. For your info, Skylines Australia does not condone any type of illegal activity on the roads... drag strip/skid pan/drift/track day is a different story...

Im sure this thread will be locked as it involves you asking questions about illegal behavior... perhaps editing the first post might be an idea..

As for your issue... what tyres are you running? that would be the first problem... traction getting the power from your engine to the ground... they make a big difference. you've said you have a heavy duty clutch so that shouldnt be the issue then....

honestly though, take it to a strip with some decent rubber, learn how to launch properly and im sure u'll be happier then doing dangerous stuff on the road... even if its a side street.

so who are these "other" people? the weakest link is usually you the driver. how are you timing it anyways?

now ask yourself this question, what is getting your car from 0-100 in 6.2secs on public roads really gonna prove anyways? honestly?

pay the $$ and get it properly timed on the strip if still want to prove something.

would changing the spark plugs and getting a service help?

i think 7sec for a GTS-T is pretty slow.

N/A supras can acheive better times than that.

Alot of things can come into play

worn tires is a possibility...

but id be looking at other things

have you had it dynoed? id give that a go and see what outputs you get...

umm has this question by the same person been asked Multiple times?!?!?!?!??!?!

Well if the car feels slower maybe something isnt right or you are getting used to it, Best to satisfy your curiosity and get it onto a Dyno and see what sort of health your car is in. But the time recorded as illegal as it was does seem very slow considering the car isnt 100% standard

LOL yeah,,theres a bit of double posting goin on :)

Anyway.. as i replied on another thread asking the exact same question..

how are your launches? and i definately agree with WYTSKY, keep it off the streets buddy, go crazy on a drag strip, i hope ur not a p plater..cops wud never let ur car see the light of day again if u got busted

yeah definately check it out on a dyno

mine was running slow when I got it, I didn't know

about it cause I went straight from an old laser 4cyl to skyline turbo six

without having driven any other higher powered car so I thought it

was fast and only found out when I got it serviced the guys at the shop

said that it was very slow compared to other skylines they'd serviced and

tested , they thought It might have been leaking boost or something, but

once they tuned it up and such I couldn't believe the difference.

Technically what he's doing may not be illegal if its in a 100kmh zone. But yeah, take it to a track or drag strip if you want to drive like a maniac.

Also if it doesn't seem as fast as it was you should have it serviced and tuned, maybe a compression test (??) and above all take a driving course to improve your driving...

So what your saying is that i could launch my car off a 2-step at every set of traffic lights and not expect to be fined if I only get to 60 before backing off??

Even if he is not speeding it is still classed as reckless driving

Is there a specific law regarding take off speed? I'm sure a cop could find something to fine you with if you did drive like that and you'd deserve whatever was dished out.

All I said was it might not "technically" be illegal.

    • I'd be very surprised if you can buy new OEM mats. But if you can, I want some too!  Do you have links to the variations you found? Also, where are you located? I found that Nengun is happy to list items to purchase but when you do buy them you'll get an email that it's actually discontinued. As far as I know the variations in floor mats are different colour schemes as well as automatic and manual having a slightly different shape. The automatic ones fit into a manual car without issues, but I think you'd have trouble fitting the other way around. I have photos that show the shape difference if you care. FWIW I bought sets of used floor mats in decent condition at yahoo auctions.
    • Hi 🙋‍♂️. Just bought my Unicorn but the interior need some minor work so it would match my expectations ;). I noticed it is hard to get used oem floor mats in good condition so i started to dig if there's any chance to buy set of new ones. I found two websites - nengun and amayama and it looks like one can still buy factory new floor mats in Japan, but thers a small issue. Some mats (i assume genuine, oem ones) are marked as G4900 and these are "discontinued". The ones you can buy are marked as G4911 but i have no idea if these are also oem, made by other producer or some lower quality replacements that looks entirely different. Can anyone help? 😃  P.s. there is also some strange indication - 0V005, 0V015 and 0V505. Any idea what does it mean? Would appreciate any help with this 🙏
    • Hi, Marek here 🙋‍♂️. I finally fulfilled my longtime dream - recently bought Stagea and now waiting for it to arrive in Poland. There's only few of these in my country, and one of the owners  recommended mi this forum as a source of all the info i'd need since now i own one  so here i am.
    • Version 1 aluminium airbox is.......not acceptable No pics as I "didn't like the look.....alot" Even after all my "CAD", and measurements, the leg near the fusebox just didn't sit right as it ended up about 10mm long and made the angle of the dangle look wrong, the height was a little short as well, meh, I wasn't that confident that Version 1 was going to be an instant winner I might give Version 2 another go, there's plenty of aluminium at work, but, after having in on and off a few times, and laying in the old OEM airbox without the new pod filter and MAF, there may be an option to modify the OEM air box and still use the Autoexe front cover and filter.... maybe This >  Needs to fit in here, but using the panel, and not the pod, the MAF will need to fit in the airbox though> I'm thinking as the old OEM box and Autoexe cover that is sitting in the shed is just sitting around doing nothing, and they are relatively abundant and cheap to replace if I mess it up and need another, it may well fit with some modifications to how the Autoexe brackets mounts to the rad support, and some dremiling to move it get in there, should give me some more room for activities, as I don't want to move the MAF and affect the tune Sealing the hole it requires to stick it in the air box is simple, a tight fit and some pinch weld will seal it up tight  I am calling this a later problem though
    • and it ends up being already priced in as though you're just on 91RON without any ethanol. Car will lose a bit of economy as the short and long term fuel trims bring down the AFR back to stoich or whatever it is for cruise/idle for the engine.
