Thats not good! Didnt you notice that before the tune? Thats the last thing I want, being all happy to get the car into a better shape only to find out something is wrong with it and require fixing prior... Hope you get that fixed soon.

I found a 2nd hand pfc locally and just bought the boost kit from access (cant be bothered waiting 1 month for it to come from japan). Bought Catco 3" and HKS front pipe arrived today... look damn good!

Hopefully everything will be here by Tues and I can go for tuning on Wed if not the following week.

I noticed it Sunday and thought WTF? I guess I was in denial. It's only a recent thing. They didn't sort the clutch out entirely either so all round a bit of a fizzer.

Keep us posted on what happens with you Brandon.

Not good that the turbo shat itself, at least it should to be too horrendous to have it rebuilt.

I honestly feel my car performs better with the M's pods over the airbox (which makes sense when you take into account the surface area of the filters and the mouth design of the pods against the stock box). Critical thing is the get pods separated from the hot engine bay.

Beat you to it!

Bought the dumps and rescheduled the tune the week after I installed both front/dump pipes.

Good stuff!! :D

They're still f**king around with my clutch anyway. Not happy:

yea... clutch is another tricky 1. I dont know how well mine's gonna hold after the tune. I was told it should be fine until 350kW.

Tricky to install too due to multi plates I was told yesterday. :D

Hopefully it'll hold out. Do you know what it is exactly?

Cool! Mind sharing your full list of mods (e.g. exhaust system, boost level etc)? Buts its nice to see another proven example of having factory injectors running that kinda power. I guess you just gotta becareful when you bring it on trackand make sure it doesnt go over 99% or 100% duty.

i got

Apex'i Power FC

Blitz Dual Stage Boost Controller

HKS Turbo dump pipes & front engine pipe

Metal Race Catalyser

Kakimoto Regu 06 Cat back exhaust system

Tomei sump baffle

Tomei type A camshafts

JUN cam pulleys

Sard fuel pressure regulator

N1 oil pump

Trust oil cooler

Its a stock bottom end, and ive got Nismo N1 (T25/T04B 0.64) turbos bolted on the side of it.

cheers : D

next mods Z32s, Injectors and some sort of better intake setup, havnt worked out yet if im goin pods or a arc airbox.

Great. Similiar to what I've got. Very promising for me :P

Hey just on the Regu 06, have you got it tested? What dB is your system? I would love to know that cause I'm thinking of getting that to replace the 1 I have now.

What clutch are you running?

Nah mate. Havnt had it tested. But it is a very nice zorst system, perfect on the freeway u can sit in the car and talk to the person sitting beside you and if you have anyone in the back u can talk with ease. Normal street driving is great, and when u open her up it really roars at you in the high revs. Best zorst system ive ever had on any of my lines.

And im running a ORC twin plate clutch, pritty good so far. Grabs up really well, has been put through many 6k launchs. Fairly Noisey but, when the clutch is in you can hear them rattling quite abit, but i spose its the same for most twin plates.

cheers mate

Interestingly I was told by the bloke tuning it that the stock air box will be a restriction when it's fixed, that it should see over 300rwkw with my turbos but the air box will keep it to 260/270rwkw. specifically put it back on as the pods were rooted. Thing is on here we've seen people on here with upwards of 340rwkw with them, so yeah I dunno. :D

R32 one isnt the greatest

R33/R34 - EASILY 350rwkw through the stock airbox.

Aaron34 & Snowman both have stock R34 Airboxes, near on 400rwkw

I have a 32 with stock airbox, 260awkw @12psi and 310awkw @18psi. Its not an issue up to there at least. In fact all intake including cooler is stock.

Nissan looked after us engineering these cars....

Hopefully the QLD charity cruise has someone with the regu06. I'm really tempted to buy that to replace the trust ti-r if after putting the dump/front pipe on it becomes even louder...

Thanks for the info as usual.

Good to hear, I've heard 340rwkw with the stock R32 airbox also. I would love 300rwkw but anything over 260rwkw is a bonus. Got a turbo (and more importantly clutch - hopefully today!) issue to sort out now anyway. :D

  • 2 weeks later...

The truth is out... Sadly it made 340hp at all 4 and thats 255awkw. Will post the graph up tomorrow when I've scanned it. Injectors were around 90% so I guess its a really safe tune. Overall although it didnt make what I expected, I'm happy with the response. Its way smoother to drive now.

    • I mean it's a bit late to say "This won't have any tangible effect and it is not worth spending more than about three seconds on it, please just enjoy the car" But I said it anyway. Does the pod actually get any airflow in that position behind a bumper like that?
    • Hey guys - apologies for digging this up. Has this website been shutdown or is the outage temporary?
    • So, went shopping at Just Jap for things that might work for the intake  After some trial fitting there I ended up with a 3" x 45° silicone bend, a 3" x 300mm alloy straight, and a humped joiner, some minor trimming will be required to shorten some of the stuff, but nothing that is beyond my "ham fisted" skills The guy at Just Jap was most helpful as we had all sorts of joiners,  bends and stuff out trial fitting  Laying it out above the stuff in there it seems everything will fit nicely, and looking at it, it is probably the way I should have been looking at doing it from the beginning, probably..... In the end it is a front bar off job anyway to remove the original stuff behind the front bar that is taking up the required realestate needed, so maybe a Thursday or Friday job And because I'm a hopeless consumer, I grabbed some new steel wheel nuts, the current ones are a spline drive type with a "security" socket, that somehow someone keeps misplacing, the new ones are a basic black steel 17mm hex socket In other news: I just did my "final" tax return, I am now officially a old retired veteran pensioner, and I'm milking the system for all it's worth,  life is good
    • I hadn't thought about the variable power steering assist. Presumably, it will always be the same level of assist as you get in an S14. The R32/3/4 are either helliishly heavy (at low speeds) if the solenoid is not powered at all, or hellishly too light (at high speed) if it is powered all the time. I presume that it is PWM controlled on those cars. I hadn't thought about the S cars not having variable assist. ugh. What crappy plebby cars they must be!
    • Hmm yeah that is a good point. It looks like it'll just bolt in with no real issue besides maybe the bushings being different. My other concern was that 2 pin plug that I assume is used in some way to control the rack solenoid depending on the speed signal from the ecu. The DMAX rack doesn't even have that plug though so, don't think it'll matter. Might just order the rack and see how it goes. Will update this when I figure something out
