pulled into coles/safeway carpark today and was confronted by the sheriff

i was in my girlfreinds car which aparently had $1650 in unpaid citylink fines

the thing is there was a glitch in the system and the fines were never received in the mail

they wanted to tow the car on the spot, and she never even knew of the fines.

it is all from 7 trips on citylink over a 2 month span

just a warning... they are checking all rego's in the carpark

lol if you dont have unpaid fines etc then it doesn't matter does it? :D

I had a similar issue actually myself from civic compliance many years ago, stuffed if i know where they were sending the notices but i missed a few and they added up with all the stupid fee's and so on.

I know how ya feel :D

that's kinda my point ash, we weren't aware of the unpaid fines, they were from 07 and no notices were ever received....

and now they want hardcore coin.... due to their error... obviously we are fighting it

I dislike this general area. It's the biggest mess of parking signs and meters. Half of it can be parked in and the other half needs a ticket. Narrow one way exists. It's one of the shadiest spots to park your car at night time. Always full of twits just loitering in the carpark with sound systems turned up. And I've seen the TMU there going around checking cars on more than one occasion.

I saw cops going over a Skyline there the other night. It was an R32 with a 34 front end. Police asked for engineering certificates. The guy showed them. I actually think he got away without a fine.

So many hoons around there though, so no wonder it's a hot-spot for police.

There's these guys with the plates "DUBAI-1" "DUBAI-2" etc. all the way up to "DUBAI-9"

I see them burning rubber every time I go there.

Broadmeadows is harsh, They blocked of pacoe road with TMU, highway patrol cars and all within 5meters away thers a BLUE mercedes VAN unmarcked in FBI blue, which has a camera and when your car comes past it automatically scans it and checks your rego/unpaid fines and all, and they pull you over and inspect your car for yellow canaries!! theres undercover cop cars all over this northern area mainly broady!! so becareful guys!!! they are heavily strict!!!!! last week broady pulled over 2000cars in 2 days!

I've got a Dubai 9 in my carpark lol!

I saw Dubai 6 at uni today

Really?

Personally I've only seen 3 of the DUBAIs (2 newish Commodores and one brand new Mercedes) but my friend assures me that they own every plate. :)

DUBAI2 is a red VY SS. That's the only one I can fully remember. :P I'm never sober when I see them on Chapel St.

Everyone knows not to go to chaps, especially on friday and saturday nights lol

I hate the area, too many drunks and fights

I know what you mean.

That night we were there JD my friend had her car (and about 4 others nearby) broken into. They just smashed a window grabbed what they could and fled. Was parked in a backstreet just off Chapel.

    • Just trying to get my head around this. At 5psi of boost, you turn on your wmi pump, and then you're using a 3000cc injector, to allow flow upto the actual engine, where you have your 6x200cc injectors and a 500cc injector. If the above is correct, what advantage are you obtaining by having the 3000cc injector blocking flow, is this just incase a line breaks between that injector and the motor you can stop flow immediately? Or are the 6x200cc and 500cc less injectors and just spray nozzle?
    • Welcome! New member myself, but I had an R33 back in 2002. Best advice I could give, based on my experience: if you're running the factory turbo, be very conservative with boost. I made the mistake of just fiddling around with the boost controller and cranking the boost for fun, and the end result was my intake pipes popping off frequently from the constant deluge of oil that was being blown into the recirc by the stressed-out turbo, which itself was siphoning oil from the engine and farting it out both sides of its centre bearing (or something to that effect). If I could do it all again, I would have gotten a new turbo and had a tune dialled in professionally and then just left it alone! Funny you mention the metal shavings in the gearbox, as I had the same thing - the probe plug (magnetic drain plug, essentially) would come out caked with shavings. At least it was doing its job. Not sure if that's just sacrificial wear and part of the deal, or if my gearbox was shagged, but I wasn't abusing it. Enjoy the R33 - they're a dying breed, and if they weren't $35k+ on CarSales in Queensland, I might have picked up one of those again, instead of the 370GT I own now (though I'm loving the 370GT, that big 3.7L V6 just hits different).
    • Howdy folks. I owned an R33 back in 2002, which was thoroughly beyond my capacity (financially speaking) to maintain/insure, so we parted ways in 2004. Fast forward 21 years (to literally yesterday, in fact) and I'm now the proud owner of a 2007 V36 370GT. I'm happily surprised by how much power the VQ37VHR makes, compared to the RB25DET, considering the latter is turbocharged. I had planned to add a turbo at some point but I'm on the fence about whether I'll even need it (though I do love the sudden onset of extra torque). Any other 370GT owners around the traps, I'd love to hear about your experiences with this car (good and bad).
    • Perhaps the answer is... more jacks!* *proper jacks must be used.
