Duncan we really need you there by 8.30 at latest....all the scruits are volunteers and we want to get it sorted by 9am so we can all enjoy ourselves.

I was going to run slicks too but I'll just bring some semis as well in case the weather changes.

I'm leaving here in T-minus 5hrs 50mins. hoping to get there at 8 so if you need an extra set of hands for scrutinising I'll jump in. :D

ahhhh. it sucks having no windows. looks like ill be sitting in a wet seat all day. not happy,

no wipers either lol. this is dumb.....but im still keen to get up in 6 hours, i just dont understand.....

see you all soon.

99.9% chance I will NOT be making this day with my Skyline... :D

Bastard just won't start...

But just as an aside, anyone who has a timing light, can you take it to OP tomorrow just incase my car does make it there... The timing is sure to be out...

Ah sorry my bad, dunno how I missed the "no helmet hire" bit

Well it stopped raining down here (I'm <10min drive from OP), should be soggy tomorrow but hopefully dries up a bit. I'll be there spectating, might get down there early so I can snap some pics. Gotta get up in 4 hrs, oh wait, 3 hrs

Enjoy the day everyone.

P.S. I won't be able to afford a helmet, being poor sucks

Mate if not coming is down to not having a helmet,,,you can have it.

Neil.

Awesome day, worth every hard earned dollar! Glad I could borrow a helmet and have a stab at the track.

Wet track meant lots of opposite lock action, having lame rear end grip doesn't help.

Time to get a helmet and save up for the next event.

i want pics and vids guys, i didnt finish work till 3ish so i couldnt make it.... but i can imagine what it would have been like

Top day everyone! I would like to thank and apologise to everyone involved with today, especially to the owner of one V36 370GT... really shouldn't have tried to pass you at that point :P

Good news! did the weather hold up for a dry line? Sorry had to bail early hope the day ran ok and hassle free for the arvo! Pics plz

Kind of...

Started sprinkling, so the track got a little damp.

I unfortunately still had grip so continued to push harder and harder while the track was getting wetter and wetter until yet another spectacular epic fail. I know pics and video will eventually follow ;)

brb, getting drink on :(

Can i just say a massive bigs up to Andymoomoo and Clapa (VZSS) for helping me out scruting and getting thru the cars! You guys handle stickers n paperwork like no other pimp!! :P

I want evidence of all stories and epic fails (yes including yours matt cass)

    • Just trying to get my head around this. At 5psi of boost, you turn on your wmi pump, and then you're using a 3000cc injector, to allow flow upto the actual engine, where you have your 6x200cc injectors and a 500cc injector. If the above is correct, what advantage are you obtaining by having the 3000cc injector blocking flow, is this just incase a line breaks between that injector and the motor you can stop flow immediately? Or are the 6x200cc and 500cc less injectors and just spray nozzle?
    • Welcome! New member myself, but I had an R33 back in 2002. Best advice I could give, based on my experience: if you're running the factory turbo, be very conservative with boost. I made the mistake of just fiddling around with the boost controller and cranking the boost for fun, and the end result was my intake pipes popping off frequently from the constant deluge of oil that was being blown into the recirc by the stressed-out turbo, which itself was siphoning oil from the engine and farting it out both sides of its centre bearing (or something to that effect). If I could do it all again, I would have gotten a new turbo and had a tune dialled in professionally and then just left it alone! Funny you mention the metal shavings in the gearbox, as I had the same thing - the probe plug (magnetic drain plug, essentially) would come out caked with shavings. At least it was doing its job. Not sure if that's just sacrificial wear and part of the deal, or if my gearbox was shagged, but I wasn't abusing it. Enjoy the R33 - they're a dying breed, and if they weren't $35k+ on CarSales in Queensland, I might have picked up one of those again, instead of the 370GT I own now (though I'm loving the 370GT, that big 3.7L V6 just hits different).
    • Howdy folks. I owned an R33 back in 2002, which was thoroughly beyond my capacity (financially speaking) to maintain/insure, so we parted ways in 2004. Fast forward 21 years (to literally yesterday, in fact) and I'm now the proud owner of a 2007 V36 370GT. I'm happily surprised by how much power the VQ37VHR makes, compared to the RB25DET, considering the latter is turbocharged. I had planned to add a turbo at some point but I'm on the fence about whether I'll even need it (though I do love the sudden onset of extra torque). Any other 370GT owners around the traps, I'd love to hear about your experiences with this car (good and bad).
    • Perhaps the answer is... more jacks!* *proper jacks must be used.
